Definitely one of their Iconic knives and everybody should try and buy one....Everything about it is outstanding and I agree about the rubber handle but somehow it works well on this knife and the Recon Scout....Nice gift to Scott....Good stuff....

I carry my 3v trail master or 3v recon scout and a 4max almost every day..love them..sometimes i carry a AK47 field knife or srk or large warcraft ..not the xl
@adods9824 they're pretty good imo..they slightly over ground it but not easy to notice and doesn't effect function or durability..great ht edge holds up great..I use mine for whatever its a beast
Is that SK-5? Carbon V? Or the O-1? San mai III? 3V? Just curious. My original TM was carbon V and I'm now the proud owner of the O-1 version. Even recently scored a the vintage Carbon V SRK and it was in pristine condition.

Two knives really made Cold Steels reputation the tanto and the trailmaster i have owned and lost both over the years and hope to get another of each

Me too! Both seized unlawfully and destroyed. Just replaced TM, now looking for original tanto. Never used it, don't need it, but it's the principle!
Love my trailmaster. Have it in a custom kydex sheath. My go to woods knife.

3V one has good grind lines? I want one but won't accept butchered grind lines ... Not on a $700 plus knife (Australia)
