There are several videos of the M7 bayonet. The scabbard is a USM8A1, which fits M4-M7 bayonets and M3 trench knife. The M-1910 belt hanger has been around since 1910 and is still used on the M-10 scabbard.

The "46" is likely the butt number of the rifle it was issued with to an individual soldier in the unit it wound up in. Makes it easier to issue and receive at the start and end of an exercise, when accountability and security of weapons is a pretty big deal. You'd verify the butt number on the bayonet scabbard when you signed it out and back in to the arms room.

Chopping wood with a stiletto style bayonet...? LoL, probably should have tested the bayonet doing its intended use like stabbing a slab of meat or something to that effect.

Commonly referred to as the Blue Oyster Cult bayonet. At least by me.
