I have an interesting story about Pinedale, Wy. I rode my road bike up the mountain outside of town and upon returning to town, I encountered a MAJOR thunderstorm (temps dropped from the 80s down to the 50s with hail). When I got back to town, I needed to cross 4 lanes of traffic to get to my motel and was shivering from the cold. Wonderful views. So good to hear you are thoroughly enjoying your travels and work you are putting into it. Those stars were incredibly beautiful . Loving that last tent with little sofa, it looked really homely. The animals seems to like you❤, and that little mouse 🐁, so cute. Have a brilliant next few days and hopefully your good luck will continue to follow you😊
The mouse was pretty cute. I didn't think so when he/she was scurrying around keeping me awake. The bell tent gave me the best night's sleep on the trail so far. Thanks 👍👍
It takes some getting used to being camped out somewhere where multiple things can hurt/kill you. I loved that Essex trip. I'll do a other at some point. Thanks for commenting and following along 👍
Hi Mat, a Gates center track belt does not just run off the sprockets. The belt tension must either be very slack or a stone must have come between while driving. If the latter has happened, there is a chance that the belt will break at a later stage. I'd put a new belt on it in Pinedale, with the Great Divide Basin ahead.
The belt definitely wasn't slack so I believe you're right about the stone getting between the belt and the sprocket. I've just made it out of the basin but have a spare belt with me. I'll be aware that the belt may have been weakened. Thanks for the advice 👍
Enjoying the videos of your bike journey here in Philadelphia. For those new to cycling, can you show us how to change a flat tire? If you have one of course. Possibly a time lapse with the important parts?
I’m really enjoying your your journey and love the way you are experiencing the route. I’ve seen many different videos on the GDMBR, including watching the race, but really appreciate that you are going at your own pace and truly experiencing the route. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Pretty inspired with your journey. Sad that I've caught up and can't binge any more! Decided to get some bike packing bags and do a couple of overnights. I was me researching Tailfin that led me to your channel in the first place, so a double thank you!
The idea of somebody binge watching my channel makes me laugh. I'm glad you are though. Thanks. After 1/2 of the trail I can still recommend the Tailfin. I'm definitely not sponsored. It's rock solid and being able to quickly detach the panniers is essential when it rains and you're packing away. Cheers 👍

Been enjoying your videos. I start my journey on August 8th from the Jackson Hole airport then biking to Silverthorne. I am hoping to find the Strawberry Shelter near mile 90 past the ranger station to stay in Looking forward to your travels thru the great basin. Thanks.
Sounds like a good trip you have planned. You can't miss Strawberry shelter, it's right on the trail. Tomorrow's video (Monday, 7th August) is mainly about crossing the basin. I loved it there! Thanks for following along and good luck on your trip!
Hey Bert, Your going well and the scenery looks amazing! You will soon be halfway 👍 I'm with you on the bears, would be glad to have them behind me ! Bit of news for you from back home: Dartmoor wild camping ban has been overturned today, which I'm over the moon about and is a great "win" for us outdoors people. 😎 Take care. Best. Ernie 👍
Hey Ernie. The Dartmoor ban being overturned is excellent news!!! I'm out of Grizzly country now so can relax a bit. I'm about to go into the basin which will be interesting. Wish me luck. Cheers, Bert
Grizzlies scare me too, glad we don't have any in my neck of the woods! lol The bell tent, I could call that home no problem! It is nice that your just relaxing and not clocking anything. A few challenges are good, makes you appreciate all the good stuff more! Great on the sandwich along the drive, nice chap for sure. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to the next episode. :)

More dogs I can do but my facial hair is growing slowly 🤣🤣. I love the small towns..it's my absolute favourite thing about the trip. I'm in Del Norte as I type, fantastic place.
Keep going, awesome as always really appreciate the drone shots and ride pasts they help put things into scale. Also massive congrats on ticking over the 1k subs well deserved cant recommend your channel enough.
Thanks. I'll keep the drone and ride by shots coming. My poor old tripod is even closer to landfill so the ride by's are more of a challenge but I'll do my best. Cheers 👍
Great video and thoughts about the Great Divide. I really liked Pinedale a lot too. At the brew pub our waitress was from Florida and we talked about her adjustment to life in Wyoming and the cold. Also stopped at that shelter cabin for lunch, but pushed on to Mosquito Lake above Pinedale. I hope the Great Basin went fine and treated you well, and that long stretch into Rawlins was easy on you. Thanks again for the memories.
I passed Mosquito lake and can see why it's called that!! The mosquitos when were insane!!! Pinedale was a great place. I'm about to head into the basin and will prepare for the long stretch into Rawlins. I'm glad you're enjoying these videos. Cheers 👍

Hi Matt, loving this series of videos, making me wonder about having a go at the GDMBR myself. You are filming this very well, its good to see where you stop and whats going on. You could start to include the people you meet, I know it seems daunting to put a camera in someone's face, I'm a youtuber so know first hand. Its best to just ask them first, most folks don't care, or feel pleased to be included. You could also film the bears in you can hold the camera still haha. Keep it up, love your attitude to the journey, same as my way of doings things now, jst ride and see what comes along, no stressing about time of distance. You'll be super pleased you filmed all this as its great to watch back later on where your back home. All the best Matt, be cool to meet up when back in the UK maybe. I'm riding with "Ernie" haha shortly. Julian Hawker. Chat in the next installment. Graham
I'd love to meet up when I get back. Thanks for the feedback and it's useful to hear from another TH-camr. I'll try to build up courage to film other people. I'm sure you're right and they don't mind if you ask first. I don't know about the Bears!! My pulse rate doubles whenever I see one!! So you know Ernie???

At 69 I’m happy to go “with the flow” too. Just grateful to be “in the stream”. I’ll be in Kalispell in 2 1/2 weeks to ride solo to Breckinridge. Leave me trail of Hobnobs, will ya? Thanks again.
Hi, really enjoying your journey and the videos. Thank you to you and your editor for taking the time. Watched a lot of these type of vids, mainly Americans. I think the fact you're British (Greetings from a near neighbour on the Isle of Man), not a professional, and possibly similar age to me means I am enjoying these much more. Also the fact that you're still out there means something. Shave taken years off you btw. Must think of a question now.
Thanks. It's nice to get good feedback. I'm definitely still out here. I'm in the Basin at the moment and it's incredible. Thanks for following and commenting 👍
I just wanted to tell you that I've been thoroughly enjoying your videos. Thank you so much for taking the time to put them together. I rode a short section with a friend last year (he actually did the grand depart, and I was supposed to, but that's a different story), the one you did in the beginning of the video, and even stayed in the same campground you did. I plan on doing the Tour Divide in 2024. I hope I can make it work. So, fun fact- That grizzly you saw is named Felicia 😂. Seriously. I heard this from a forest ranger when I was in the area. She actually has two youngsters, but I think you said you only saw one of them. I hope the other one is okay.
Good luck for 2024. Hopefully it all works out this time. I'm glad you are enjoying the videos and I love the fact that the bear I saw is known. I did only see one cub but they were right on the edge of the forest so hopefully the other was there somewhere. Thanks for the info and thanks for following along 👍
Really enjoying your journey and the commentary. I'm starting in Rawlins in a couple of weeks and riding the CO section of the trail. Test run to see how I hold up. Looking forward to those vids. You are getting me pretty fired up for the ride. Keep it up!! In response to the question about how car accidents happen on these roads, I live up in Jackson and these things happen all the time. I tend to think it's people looking at the scenery and generally being distracted.
I'm in Rawlins right now. Just got in. I'll be able to answer any questions you have about that section before you set off so just ask. I think the video showing it will be out next Thursday. I'm sure you'll enjoy. I'm looking forward to it. I believe you're right about the car accident. The scenery was amazing and I imagine the driver was distracted. Good luck on your trip and thanks for watching mine!!
You are doing a fantastic job! Love watching & learning about the Divide.. are you doing the Adventure Cycling route? I understand that there are 3 different routes to go on. Did you have to do “The Wall”? I don’t think I saw you do that part. I’m thinking about doing parts of the Divide, would need the easiest version as I’m 67 & have medical issues so I ride a gravel e-bike, your route looks like there are plenty of re-supply stops for the most part & of course I could always take detours around the most difficult sections, so far watching your route is encouraging to me! Thank you for filming & your honesty! Keep pedaling, all the best!
Hi. I don't remember doing the wall and can't find out exactly where it is. I have, so far biked the official ACA route and taken no alternatives. Maybe somebody else could answer in the comments??? There are plenty of alternate routes which bypass the more technical sections so I'm sure you'd be able to make your own route. Resupplies are, so far very easy. Stores, gas stations etc. seem to be fairly common. I'm glad you're encouraged and am sure that you'd enjoy this route. Thanks for commenting 👍
Hi Mat, Is all ok ? Just seems to have been a while since the last epic instalment, no pressure, just checking in to see if all is well. I got my bike back !! Damaged !!!!!
All good Thanks. I couldn't upload while on the basin so the next video is out tomorrow (Monday). The basin was amazing. I'm in Steamboat now taking a half day off. Your bike came back damaged!!! What happened?
This one made it out on time. I hope you liked it. I think there may be a delay on the next one. I'm heading into a poor signal area so may not be able to upload. Cheers 👍
Funny how clean shaving changes one's look. Glad the grizzly bears didn't nibble your bum. Hope the Basin crossing goes smooth. I have been doing research on the route through Colorado, sounds like the population density of humans will increase as will the altitude.
I've heard that about Colorado. It's a bit touristy I think (I'm aware that I'm a tourist too 🤣). The views will no doubt make up for it. I survived Grizzly country and hate my clean shaven looks... Thanks for commenting 👍
Hi Mat, Enjoying all of your videos. Can you give us a clue to the security you have on your bike. When you go into a shop or cafe do you lock your bike up. In the UK I never leave mine out of sight without a chunky lock..... Keep it up.
I am constantly nervous about the security of my bike, but I have had to force myself to leave it at times. I couldn't justify the weight of bringing my kryptonite lock, instead I just have a lightweight Kevlar one, which I'm sure could be dealt with in seconds by any would-be bike thief. One of the advantages of meeting people on the ride has been that when we reach towns together we just watch each other's bikes. Thank you for commenting 👍
Hi Mat, keep going! I look everyday for updates, and often wonder how you're getting on. One thing I would love to see is how you get back from Antelope Wells (a long way off yet, I know!) I'm planning on dong the GDMBR in 2026, and it the one thing that worries me (stuff like getting bike boxes to get home etc) Anyhoos, cheers for the laughs, keep at it, and keep smiling x
I'll definitely document how I get back. I haven't worked it out yet but it's the kind of thing I worry about too. I'll figure it out. Thanks for following along and if you have any questions please ask. Cheers 👍
Mat. Thank you for doing this. Greatly appreciate you doing this. Sorry if i missed this….what is the name and brand of the long sleeved button down shirt you have? Thanks
Remember, never to stretch the belt to get it back on because it will break later. Move the wheel closer to the front put it on and then adjust it back.
Another interesting video. Would be interesting to know some of the prices. Also I wonder how many people would do the route if it wasn’t for the bears.
Thanks for commenting, I will try and mention the costs of things a little more as I go, I am also thinking of doing a video when I am done going over the costings of the whole tour, which I think would be useful for anyone considering riding the route themselves. And yes I think the bears do put people off, with good reason as well I suppose. It's always in the back of my mind, and as much as I've enjoyed everything so far, the presence of bears have really influenced a lot of decisions I have made. When hiking the AT I liked to just walk as far as I could in a day, and then camp wherever I fancied, but with this I have been conscious that I want to make it to established campsites/towns where you feel a little safer.
Hi Mat! Amy let me me know a few weeks back that you were doing this ride, and I just wanted to know that I’m now an avid watcher. I did the Trans-Am a decade ago and headed back to the US to ride TD. I made the mistake, however, on starting in New Mexico. Man, it nearly killed me! I was told when I got further north that New Mexico is pretty much all uphill when going NOBO. Didn’t find that in the research, did I!! Anyhow, I ended up quitting the route and making my own adventure in Banff. You’ve inspired me, however, to go back next June and ride it as part of the Grand Depart. Can’t wait for your video showing us Toaster House in Pie Town NM!! Stay strong, brother. Oh, what nav system are you using? Is it a Wahoo?
Hi. I think I'm just lucky to have chosen to go southbound. It sounds like the easier way to go. Especially considering you've done the Trans Am..I'm guessing I would have really struggled if I started in New Mexico. It's great to hear that you're doing it next year. We'll keep in touch and I can follow you on your ride. I'm looking forward to The toaster house. I think it closed for a while but I hear it's open again. I'm using a Wahoo Element Bolt. It's worked perfectly. Cheers.
Is that the first time you caught out in the rain? Even then you found a nice place to hide out quite quickly it seemed? You must be pleasing your deities of choice as they continue to shine upon you. Also I don't mean to make you feel self-conscious, but would it be too much to ask for all shots to be framed from the nose up until you get a week or two of growth back?
🤣🤣🤣 you'll give me a beard complex. I'll get a fake one when I can until it grows on again. I've been extremely lucky with the storms. I've hardly been rained on. Yesterday I could see them all around me but stayed dry.
Hi. I've used the app to tension the belt. I think a stone managed to get caught on the sprocket and prized it off. I can't think of another explanation. Hopefully you're right. I've had no issues since.
Nice bike. Have you seen 'Keep Smiling Adventures' channel. He has that bike. I think he put narrower tyres on it though. I think his tyre choice was too limited. I'd have a look. Cheers 👍
Well done mate …I wouldn’t be worrying about milestones etc either I’d be more concerned on enjoying the trip mate we’re just virtual passengers so do it your way. See if yiu can pick up some Citronella oil it’s cheap as chips and a few dabs and your neck and wrists the bugs hate it worth a try for a few bucks and smells nice and sweet normally comes in a really small bottle and last forever bout size of a tipex bottle. How much on average is a pint of beer over there pls. Atb Coops 👍🏻🍻
I'll grab some citronella when I'm next in town. Definitely worth a try. Anything to avoid using Deet. Domestic beer is between 2 and 5 dollars. IPA's which are my favourite are about 8 dollars. On other words....expensive. Cheers 👍
They look like Kleen Kanteen. Sturdy steel. I have 64 oz. Fairly wide mouth. Also 32 oz I believe. You can boil water or cook in them if needed. I used them on GDMBR last year. One fell off and rolled a hundred meters with a little dent. They can rattle in the cage so I zip tied a piece of rubber padding to dampen the bounce.
Yes Keith is correct, Klean Kanteen. They are amazing, very durable, with a wide mouth as you said, Ketih, meaning they are nice to drink out of and also quite easy to clean out. I have two of the regular stainless steel bottles, and then one insulated one which I planned to use for taking a coffee with me when I find them at stops, but I have actually used much more for keeping cold drinks cold in the hot weather. Thank you for watching.
Is "Half 7" 6:30 or 7:30? What was the name of the excellent coffee shop in Pinedale? I had some excellent waffles there one year. Really good. How are the saddle sores?
Half seven is 7:30. I can't remember the name sorry. I should have mentioned it in the video bit always forget. Saddle sores are doing ok. They've settled down. Thanks for following along 👍
I would have taken an e-bike 🤣🤣 not really!! So far the bike has been perfect. Maybe the tyres could have been less trail focussed, but I don't know what widths are available in the more road focussed ones and I like the suspension effect from wider tyres. A shorter stem for a more upright riding position would have been good as the horns would still enable me be more aerodynamic when necessary. I'll definitely do a more detailed video review once I've finished. All in all, I'm happy with my choices though. Thanks for the question. Any others, fire away. Cheers 👍
I did..I forgot to mention. Joe, a Canadian guy who I was riding with kindly gave me his as he was getting off at Jackson. I'll mention that today for the next video. Thanks for the reminder 👍

Ryan van Duzer did that on the New Mexico section of the GDMBR and that made the belt snap

I'll do my best to point those things out. Sometimes I forget that I'm supposed to film 🙄🙄. Thanks for commenting 👍
Thanks 👍👍
Great videos Mat, we are really enjoying following you on the trail. All the best for the rest of the trip.
Thanks. It's always nice to hear good feedback 👍
What a trip.. great viewing, a bit different to your spin around Essex, But there no grizzlies here !!! Look forward to your next episode.
It takes some getting used to being camped out somewhere where multiple things can hurt/kill you. I loved that Essex trip. I'll do a other at some point. Thanks for commenting and following along 👍
@@matryderadventures be great to meet for a ride.. think we are on the same wavelength 😊, as you did ride pass my house 👍
I'm a novice myself but can definitely do that if it comes to it. Thanks for watching 👍
I’m really enjoying your your journey and love the way you are experiencing the route. I’ve seen many different videos on the GDMBR, including watching the race, but really appreciate that you are going at your own pace and truly experiencing the route. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Excellent. I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. I'm settling into a good pace now and am really enjoying the trail. Thanks for following along 👍
Hi Mat stumbled upon your videos a few days back and binged watch them all, great stuff!
👍. Thanks. I'm glad you liked them.
Cheers 👍
@@matryderadventures Literally watching your South Downs overnighter now :D. Just got to the bit where you mention the new Cambium saddle! A Good choice!
It seems to be working well. I have saddle sores but I don't think any saddle could have prevented them.
Cool nothing better than the sound of rain on the tent
Very true. It helps me relax.
Take care. Best. Ernie 👍
Hey Ernie. The Dartmoor ban being overturned is excellent news!!! I'm out of Grizzly country now so can relax a bit. I'm about to go into the basin which will be interesting. Wish me luck. Cheers, Bert
Dont think that Canadian couple will thank you for describing them as 'critters running around all night'....
🤣 being Canadian they apologised for all of the disturbance!!! A Canadian who's with me right now suggested this response 🤣🤣
I want to see some Grizzlies 😀
Grizzlies scare me too, glad we don't have any in my neck of the woods! lol The bell tent, I could call that home no problem! It is nice that your just relaxing and not clocking anything. A few challenges are good, makes you appreciate all the good stuff more! Great on the sandwich along the drive, nice chap for sure. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to the next episode. :)
That bell tent was huge. I could live in something like that easily. I'm really enjoying this pace. It's nice not having to rush. Luckily I have a loose schedule. I'm glad to be out of Grizzly country!! Thanks for following along 👍
Enjoying watching your videos and scheming how I could do this in ‘24
Scheming is such an underused word. I hope you come up with something. Cheers 👍👍
Looks nice and sunny. The weather in the UK has been atrocious, cloudy, cold and wet.
That's a shame. I thought the UK was heading for a nice summer.
Im going to watch everyone of these videos! Looks like you’re still going strong, keep it up!
Excellent. I hope you enjoy them. Cheers 👍
Sometimes, your facial expressions say it all! Good to see you're still enjoying yourself and have had good experiences.
Thanks 👍 I guess I'd be no good at poker then!! Cheers 👍
Looking good Mat! 👍 You're getting good and real comments from your viewers since what we saw in your videos are also all real. No script, no dramas, and all natural. Keep it up mate! Congratulations also for reaching 1000+ subscribers! 🎉🎊🙌👏
Thanks. I don't think I could hide my real mental state. I imagine it's too difficult!!!!! Thanks is for following 👍
New tires boi!
Yep. Hopefully they'll see Mr through until the end!! Cheers.
Cheers Mat another great video those small towns your passing through are incredible. The warm shower thing is pretty fantastic and no doubt very very welcome for you. Requests would be : more dogs and more facial hair!! 👍
More dogs I can do but my facial hair is growing slowly 🤣🤣. I love the small towns..it's my absolute favourite thing about the trip. I'm in Del Norte as I type, fantastic place.
Great job mate. I'm looking forward to seeing how you find the basin.
I've just made it out! That video will be out on Monday. I couldn't upload in time for tomorrow. What an awesome section of trail.....
Cheers 👍
Congratulations on getting over 1000 subscribers! I'm loving your videos. The scenery is amazing and the commentary is practical, informative and entertaining. What a wonderful trip.
Great. I'm glad you like the videos. I'm amazed that over 1000 people have subscribed! Cheers 👍
Glad to see all going well. That accomodation looked so nice. Good luck through the basin. Looking forward to the next episode
The accommodation was amazing, exactly what was needed ahead to tackling the basin! Thank you for watching 👍
@@matryderadventures haha, yes, he features in this video quite a lot. He's in Orange with 2 orange drybags on the rear rack. th-cam.com/video/6bGy_SASuxY/w-d-xo.html
@@matryderadventures Yeah Bert , we live quite close by and ride together sometimes. We are off on a bikepacking trip in August. I'm well up for ride out when your back and recovered. Cheers. Ernie
We all have our preferences when on a long trek etc.. Personally, I'd say to stay 'going with the flow' rather than clicking off the markers..
I agree..I'm purposely ignoring them, although I think I hit half way today. Thanks for commenting 👍
Thanks for the updates. As an almost septuagenarian I like your laid-back and candid style. Thanks for keeping it real with the internal inventories. Really helps to check-in emotionally. At 69 I’m happy to go “with the flow” too. Just grateful to be “in the stream”. I’ll be in Kalispell in 2 1/2 weeks to ride solo to Breckinridge. Leave me trail of Hobnobs, will ya? Thanks again.
I'll pick some Hobnobs up at the next resupply! Thanks for commenting. It's good to hear that people like my wittering. Cheers 👍
@@matryderadventures the wall is in the Flathead alternate, ACA bill it as the Serengeti of north america. and the grizzly bear highway!
Mat- would really love to see what the water options are as you cross the Basin - ie how far apart, quality of water - thanks
No problem. I'm about to head into it right now. I'm in Atlantic City as I type. I'll be sure to document it 👍
Tip on fliming send drone in front drive pass then fly drone to you so no need to back track
Good idea. I'll give it a try. Cheers 👍
Looking forward to watching this. I was hoping you’d post the next stage tonight…
This one made it out on time. I hope you liked it. I think there may be a delay on the next one. I'm heading into a poor signal area so may not be able to upload. Cheers 👍
@@matryderadventures great video. Really enjoyed it and the insight. Interesting what you said about hiking as well and your thoughts on the trail.
I think you were right to keep going at the grizzly lake 😅 I keep seeing your watch - is that a regt strap?! Can’t work it out
There was no way I was going to stay there!!! It is a regt strap. It's a 007 replica. Cheers 👍
Hi Mat. Watching from New Zealand - and loving the vibe! We are discussing your age … 50+? Keep going ..
I'm insulted, I am 49 and 11/12ths! 😄 I think I'm on pace to be home to celebrate the 50th.
Thank you for watching 👍
@@matryderadventures Thanks Mat, loving every minute of these videos and the drone shots look really epic.
Cheers 👍

Hi. Thanks for watching. It's a Columbia Silver Ridge Lite long sleeved shirt. I love it. Lots of vents. Cheers 👍
Thank you
Game over. You are now American. Welcome, bro.
Remember, never to stretch the belt to get it back on because it will break later. Move the wheel closer to the front put it on and then adjust it back.
I saw what happened to Ryan Van Duzers belt so am always very careful. Thanks for the advice.
@@matryderadventures that would be interesting. Keep it till then make a good watch.
Hi Mat, how’s the belt tension? That’s usually the issue there.
Have you got the app?
Hopefully that 3 in a row will be the last of it. 👍
Hi. I've used the app to tension the belt. I think a stone managed to get caught on the sprocket and prized it off. I can't think of another explanation. Hopefully you're right. I've had no issues since.
love watching your journey , already started looking for a new travel bike . Looking at the BOMBTRACK beyond + ADV .
Nice bike. Have you seen 'Keep Smiling Adventures' channel. He has that bike. I think he put narrower tyres on it though. I think his tyre choice was too limited. I'd have a look. Cheers 👍
Hum, fell running was similar. I never looked beyond 50 meters and blanked out the end marker. I was not the best but up there in Army circuit
I've never tried fell running. Running is a real spot. I'm too flat footed.
No worries. Each to their own
Well done mate …I wouldn’t be worrying about milestones etc either I’d be more concerned on enjoying the trip mate we’re just virtual passengers so do it your way.
Cheers 👍
Again wonderful images Mat! What drone do you use?
I have a DJI Mini 3 Pro. It's extremely light and works well. Thanks for following 👍
A million times better than the stuff I pay my licence for . Can I ask what make are your water containers ?
Maybe show the bike shops in each town?
No problem. I'll do my best. Thanks for following along 👍
Shaved you look so much better tbh
You are definitely in the minority there. Everybody else thought I should have kept the beard ...
I am loving your ride/videos. Sorry if you've already answered this, what bike computer are you using for guidance/navigation?
I'm glad you're enjoying them. I used a Wahoo Elemnt Bolt and it performed flawlessly. Highly recommended. Cheers and thanks for watching 👍
When the next release? I've been following.
Hi. The next video will be out tomorrow (Monday, 7th August). Thanks for following along 👍
We’ll since you asked. Is there anything you would’ve changed regarding your bike and how you equipped it?
I would have taken an e-bike 🤣🤣 not really!! So far the bike has been perfect. Maybe the tyres could have been less trail focussed, but I don't know what widths are available in the more road focussed ones and I like the suspension effect from wider tyres. A shorter stem for a more upright riding position would have been good as the horns would still enable me be more aerodynamic when necessary. I'll definitely do a more detailed video review once I've finished. All in all, I'm happy with my choices though. Thanks for the question. Any others, fire away. Cheers 👍
Did you replace your sleeping pad?
I did..I forgot to mention. Joe, a Canadian guy who I was riding with kindly gave me his as he was getting off at Jackson. I'll mention that today for the next video. Thanks for the reminder 👍
How on earth can you have a 3 car pile up on such deserted roads?
It's a mystery to me. Maybe it was the roadworks. The scenery was pretty good so maybe they were distracted by that. Strange.
Noooooooo !! Not the beard 😢
It wasn't planned!!! It's growing in.
They can outrun a bike in that terrain, on a flat
You don't seem to eat much bar from carbs and sugar snacks
I know. I improved my diet a bit as the trip went on but I need to improve. My diet is awful..
Well I'm sure there is a nice greasy fish and chips coming, lol
I’ll drop you an email with the details
Again wonderful images Mat! What drone do you use?
