    I’m so EXCITED about the DDJ-REV5! I literally just placed my order last night…can’t wait for it to arrive, get some practice in and of course start taking it out on gigs. I already have the DDJ-REV1 and THIS is precisely the update I was looking for.
    The REV7 is a magnificent piece of kit but I already own the RANE ONE which I absolutely love just needed something in the “sweet spot” thanks Phil and everyone at DDJT!

      Due to the controllability of the STEMS features on the Rev5 and the FLX10. A STEMS showdown would be an interesting video.

    The more I get into stems, the more I wish my Rev7 had the 4 deck ability as well: So cool, to create Mashups on the fly and then move on to mix into yet something new.

    I can see this being a hot for a lot of folks... but seems more like something that should be 799-899$ , foe this price point I'd like to see analog inputs and internal effects.... but I guess I'm not accounting for the Pioneer tax and inflation. Definitely looks like the rev5 is a great option for people who can fit it into their workflow, but the rev7 fits better for me....with hardware effects, analog inputs , and 2 mic inputs.
    Cheers...

      For $1000 more unless you are using this console for actual battle scratching, seems like a waste of money. I have 1210s and an S7, controller is more for gigs and light, portability and functionality are what's needed most. I'll keep the 1k in my pocket and copy the REV5.

    • @isaiahfurrow7414
      @isaiahfurrow7414 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DJWYZE1, but the 5 doesn't have inputs and a handful of features that I think are totally necessary at the price point or necessary for pro use , ....and it should totally have hardware effects even if cut down to like 6 or 8 effects vs the higher end units...

      Serato vs rekordbox

    • @dieterboullart4124
      @dieterboullart4124 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@digitaldjtips My FLX-10 works great with Serato. And as an open format DJ I prefer the traditional layout of the mixer + pitch slider positioning of the FLX-10 (and it has a 4 channel standalone mixer!). So to be honest I still don't see why someone would prefer the REV5 over the FLX-10 unless you are a scratch DJ.

    • @GoodVibes-jn5we
      @GoodVibes-jn5we ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dieterboullart4124 I have the 1000SRT since it was released, it's a workhorse and I love it. FLX10 did not interest me because there wasn't anything significantly different. I'm open format as well, but I will be getting the REV5 for the following reaons that I prefer over the SRT and FLX10.
      1-REV5 has a physical crossfader curve knob, I currenlty midi map that on the SRT. I need that to be physical because I do lots of quick mixing and different transitions from song to song (short blend, long blend, loop blend, scratch, slam, etc).
      2-I use Serato so having the 4 matching stem buttons makes more sense than the 3 stem buttons on the FLX10.
      3-I prefer the "S" mixer setup with the pads in the middle instead of under the jog wheels. I have an S7 and CDJs for my home setup.
      4-I prefer the paddle effects to the SRT/FLX effects section, and you can layer effects on the REV5.
      5-I don't need 4 physical channels, I only ever use 2 channels.
      6-I don't need additional line/phono inputs, I use the controller and that's it. If I ever need to add anything else I connect to my external mixer.
      I also never use the jogwheel displays on the SRT so REV5 minimal jogwheel display doesn't bother me.
      Only 2 things I will miss from the SRT/FLX10 are the dedicated beat jump buttons (I may end up mapping those on the REV5) and the lights around the jog wheels, but that's minor.

    • @jmoak311
      @jmoak311 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m still rocking the 1000 and mine is still in great shape. I think I’m going to keep using it while I’m saving for a house. The flx 10 would also be fine for open format djing but most of just don’t need and never needed 4 decks. My 1000 sits inside of dj furniture so being able to hook up extra devices just isn’t a need for me. If I was in the market for a new co troller the rev5 would be it. I think I’d miss the pitch faders being to the right of the jog wheels and the play/cue button to the left.

    Also, I'm a little upset that they have not thought of replacing the DDJ-SR2 which was a high end 2 channel mixer. The Rev5 is too large....29 inches wide. Just too large for it to be mobile in my opinion. Thanks

    • @DJWYZE1
      @DJWYZE1 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interesting comment because I just sold my trusted SR2 to a fellow DJ and am looking for what's next. I feel like the REV7 is overkill and the fader on the FLX-10 isn't made for those that like to scratch and do more active DJ tricks (I come from vinyl and 1210s). Looking like REV5 is going to be the one with the Magvel faders (I have the S7 mixer), Stems button controls looks pretty fun too, lots of creativity there. I think I'm going to pull the trigger, hope it's not too big!!

    • @manidelgado
      @manidelgado 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Rev 5 is too large. I went with the Roland 707m. It is an absolute beast and weight 7lbs and is allergic than the rev1. Has way more features and outputs than the Rev 5. Only thing is it is not good for scratching. It is meant for the mobile dj looking to not have to carry an external mixer.
