Great information! Thanks for sharing and time spent creating this content. Just when I thought I knew everything about Serato, I learned something new watching this. I have a Mac with M1, 2tb ssd drive, and 16gb of ram. I'm hoping I can take advantage of the "analyze on load" feature. Going to experiment today! Thanks again!
Fantastic work! I use the same settings except instant doubles as I have the option but I see your point and reasoning. I may adopt this and I had it at 1 ms now at 5ms cheers also Pro 3.2.1 just came out and is just destroying the old F/X!!! Yeah and filters with 4 FX!
I say play with your controller like its s guitar or musical instrument, Test all of the bottons and start jaming, Thats what I do every day and it only gets better
When I first started using Serato in 2020, when starting the app, my library use to be where i left it. Now everytime the app starts, its reloading my whole entire library back into the app. Why is this?
@@OpenCirclesArts possibly. I no longer use itunes to organize my library; as much as an asset as it was, it was too taxing on my MBP laptop. You may need to contact Serato support regarding your issue or look online using youtube for a solution.
Cool, thanks for the info, just got my flx4 and used Serato dj pro because from all of the programs I tried, it was the less resouce consuming for my windows laptop (matebook d40 2020amd) Recordbox and was too much for her 😂 and theres many more info for that platform. But i really like serato dj pro. It's been really easy to start with! I hope I can keep learning here!
Good evening, very nice video, I wanted to ask a question that may be unrelated, but could you recommend a relatively cheap speaker to connect to the Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 DJ Controller and maybe you could tell me what cables I need like usb, rca to connect them because I've seen a lot of videos and I can't find someone to explain them in detail, I also don't know if the computer plays a role but I have a macbook air, thank you very much for your patience💛🙂
on the topic of sync mode, i rarely use sink mode. although i have a short throw slider, so at times, if Im doing different genres I jave to use sync :/
what is the best setting for recording with serato from beatport. I use Quicktime player, I have dave 12 G4X stereo. But last time after relisten the mix there was some cracking in the bass...
The amount of times I've loaded a track to the wrong deck... the whole mix stops and the new song starts the intro.. lucky I'm a home DJ and the only living thing that hears me is my cat hahaha
Does anyone have tips for better beatgrids on Serato? I have a lot of songs (old stuff, mostly) where it does not set well the beatgrids and BPM The newer doesn't have the same issue. I am thinking of moving back to Rekordbox. And yes, I know how to mix by ear, its just that sometimes you want to do a loop or just make something that I prefer to rely on visual rather than ear, and this simply doesnt work well.
How long do you think it'll be until AI will start to genuinely replace DJs? It's not there now. For sure. But, remember what AI art was like even a year and a half ago? When it didn't know how many fingers to put on hands and a whole host of other problems? The progress made between then and now where it can do real time video that looks incredibly realistic is HUGE. Most of what happens with music is basically math. That's a thing computer obviously excel with. AI can already recognize genre and mood and common traits between songs. It is capable of a lot more than just fading in and out between one song and another. Advanced transitions and beatmatching different tracks to to long blends wouldn't be far away. How long? 5 years?
Rane 4 and Performer address this with their layout - beat jump controls are so easy to manage with this layout. You could consider midi-mapping beat jumps to other buttons or dials 😊
Glad you found it useful everyone!
Sort by BPM, hold CTRL + click Key ;D
Thanks a lot for the guide! Intrigued to understand how your sorting your library by BPM. Noticed you've got Dubstep at around 70bpm for example

Sounds like you’re either using iTunes to organize your library; using the internal or external HD will cause your library to “immediately” populate.
@tablist33 I don't have external HDs, but I do have an additional and partitioned HD. Would that cause the same outcome?

Hello! If I use Platinum Notes, should I include Autogain?
Good question. I’m surprised he didn’t mention that setting.
I do, because I might have some tracks not optimized by PN and still don't need to worry about that. However, I keep checking the levels.

no

which one the best to use between serato and rekordobox?
Depends on your style.
Club/electronic music DJ mostly? Rekordbox
Open format, Hip hop, RNB DJ?
Serato.
No lie I have a 2017 MacBook Air and ever since serato 3.0 came out for stems the program has been having lots of processing power issues
La latenza però quando colleghi un controller non la puoi regolare così, solo senza controller si .
Lock Playing deck should consider mixer settings since moving platters always spin and therefore that important settings are useless. :(
