Met the Heart guitarist bartending I'm New Orleans before Katrina and he was SO nice and shocked someone my age at the time (25 lol) had ever heard of them. Glad to see a new generation picking it up too.
I remember when this album came out. We didn’t have a clue how good it was. It sat in the shelf for a long time. Then, thankfully, we figured it out.

Heart's 70's albums are phenomenal, they all rock. Their 80's stuff went too commercial for my tastes (like most 80's stuff), but they (the Wilson sisters) are still one of the greatest rock bands ever, and Ann Wilson's voice reigns supreme at the top of female rock singers.
This is a great reaction to an epic band and huge hit. Heart was really big when they came out. All these years later, the songs still slam...they are incredibly talented and I love them still. 💜

You may not know this, but you get a twinkle in your eyes when you listen to Heart!!! Love at first listen!!!😉😉😉🎼🎼🎼 (now go listen to the Kennedy Center Honors of Heart singing "Stairway to Heaven" again.....they are STILL magnificent!!!💜💜💜)
I love Heart! They use to play this song many times a day on the radio, for years.
That drop towards the end is the best part. One of my favorite things in classic rock. Their voices make you feel like you're floating through a psychedelic dreamscape.

These sisters epitomize the best in lady rock singers and guitarists, and to think that this song is 45 years old and still holds up SO well. I feel lucky to have seen them in concert in 1987, but had no idea at that age what I was witnessing. I still think my fave song by them (just for personal connection to what was going on in my life right then) is I Want You So Bad

With all the great music from Heart, Magic Man is my absolute favorite.
I saw them in concert in n the early 80s. John Cougar Mellencamp opened for them. When Heart came out on stage, I had made to the very front and sang every single song as I had listened to every album. Ann Wilson, the singer came by me and tried to touch my hand. We couldn't reach but I still feel her. Nancy Wilson can definitely keep you mesmerized with her Guitar. And both such strong BEAUTIFUL WOMEN! I will never forget that night!

Saw Heart in concert in the 80s, youve got to check out some of their live versions. It adds an element to the songs, really amazing. Heart is one if those bands that is perfect either way, but in concert it just takes ur breath away.

For me Ann Wilson is the BEST FEMALE VOCAL EVER and Nancy Wilson comes SECOND. I saw them twice in Montreal and they are awesome Ann's voice is insane. Love your reactions for that band im gonna watch them all.

Heart is one of my favorite bands from the 70's and 80's...hell..even the 90's!!! If u haven't seen it.. watch their show stopping performance at the Induction of Led Zeppelin into the Hall of Fame...they slayed STAIRWAY to HEAVEN!!! A must see.!!!
Love your reaction to my favorite rock song! This song seems so simple yet is tremendously creative and complex. I always loved the pulsating drums, squealing guitar, the musical interlude, and the ethereal, haunting mood. And of course Ann Wilson is the greatest female rock vocalist ever. Heart from the 1970s ranks right up there with the best of the classic rock bands, and I'm a guy who likes bands such as The Who, Deep Purple and Boston.

If you would like to try some laid-back Heart, then try: Dreamboat Annie (on this same album), Dog and Butterfly, and These Dreams. All are lovely songs.

What you really need to understand is... this was the first song by Heart that most of the country heard.. I remember I was working at the Kmart east in Wichita, Kansas in the shoe department and I had a buddy that worked in the auto department next to my department and he would turn the car stereos up and put it on the FM station. It would bring customers back for him... and we both enjoyed the music.. John Robertson... where are you now?
This song reminds me that those days are gone. Such great memories about that time.

Everyone always assumes 80's when they hear crazy synth sounds. The difference between 70's and 80's synth use is it was tastefully done in the 70's. It was overdone in the 80's.

This is from their first album, released in Canada in 1975. I think the USA release was 76. Lots of good stuff on this album.
This was the first song that I heard from Heart back in the day. Crazy good song, it was great to be a teenager in the seventies our music was sublime...
My 5 brothers and I were camping out one Friday night.....somebody turned on the radio and this song came on.....it shut down all the conversations and eating and had our undivided attention. After it was over we just sat there until my oldest brother says....."who in the hell was THAT?"
Roger Fischer, Nancy's boyfriend at the time, was the lead guitar player! Very underrated!! 💙🎼🎸✌️

Takes me back,,, I remember the day I first heard this song. I remember walking downstairs to my older cousins jam room in their basement. He was in a band, he played guitar. They had this soundproof room and the door was open and I heard this full blast and I just followed the sound. I sat in the room with all his friends and listened. They thought it was cute because I was only seven... they were about ten years older. Released in 1975,,, I heard it in 1977/78...

I saw Heart live at the PNE in Vancouver, a long, long time ago.......They were awesome then, and they're awesome now. As they say, "I may be old, but I got to see all of the great bands".

I was fortunate enough to see Heart live in 1978 and 79. And then again in 2013. When their debut album dropped in 1975, it was well received by those of us into rock. It was cool to see a couple of chicks rocking out!! Ann Wilson on vocals and her sister, Nancy, on acoustic and rhythm guitar! The lead guitar is played by Roger Fisher, who was also dating Nancy Wilson back then!
Like most rock bands in the mid 70s, Heart wanted to be Led Zeppelin. They even played Zep's "Rock and Roll" during their sets.
"Magic Man" was the first cut played on AOR (Album Oriented Rock) radio stations. I was 16 and living in suburban Milwaukee. I knew a few guys who I would say could be a "magic man." Back in the day, there would be huge kegger parties on farms and there would invariably be garage bands rocking out. The legal drinking age was 18 back then and we had fun. Check out "Crazy On You" which features Nancy Wilson doing a kick ass acoustic guitar opening!
Now, if you want to hear a great example of Ann Wilson's vocal prowess, react to "Alone." Her voice will give you chills!! ❤❤
