If I remember correctly, this was the first time Betty White went full in like that. Shocked df out of a LOT of people. This was her comeback. This is when she was cemented in the hearts of most people. I haven't watched this since she passed, and it was so bittersweet to see her in that role that launched her career into the stratosphere. After the movie, she never lacked roles and usually amazing ones. I'm one who grew up watching The Golden Girls, so she's held a special place in my heart. RIP Legend
Just wanted to say that I love your channel. Been watching for a few months now. I lost my little sister unexpectedly on Tuesday. She was only 31. Im trying to figure out how to live with this pain and most of the things I can listen to, read, play or watch remind me of her because we shared everything. Your videos are one of the few things I can watch that makes me smile and even laugh. Thank You.
Condolences on the passing of your sister. That’s rough but I am glad you found this wonderful channel & enjoy it. JL is my favorite reactor so I am glad that he can make you smile & laugh while you’re grieving. Any happiness during such a time is a blessing & here is another one for you: May knowledge & wisdom find you May peace fill your heart May love always surround you And God be with you all of your life. Take care my friend & know that you are now part of the EOM family.
Hey JL! So a moose was probably in the water because they really can swim, and they often will graze/feed on the plant life on the lakes bottom. They are massive and terrifying creatures but have so much beauty.
First time I watched this movie, I went in blind. I knew there was a big crocodile, but that was it. It became one of my all time favourite movies. So funny! Betty White is the Queen. The sheriff and rich guy fighting. All of it. It's such a hilariously good time, funnier than most comedies and better jumpscares than most horrors.
I love this wild ass flick so much. I mean, the cast ALONE: Bill Pullman, Bridget Fonda, Brendan Gleeson, Betty White.. it's crazy how many great actors whose name starts with "B" there are in what is basically a big-budget B-movie 😂
I love Oliver Platt. It's been years since I've seen this movie, and I quickly realized that this is why I love him so much now. He was awesome in Flatliners, too.
Love your reaction to this. I only saw it because it had my fave guy Oliver Platt in it and he was brilliant. The back and forth between him and Brendon Gleeson was perfect. Love to know what the cow was thinking 😂
"Why does a moose cross the lake?" To get to the other side. Moose are good swimmers, and provide plenty of food for giant crocs. I remember wishing someone react to the croc's first appearance with "We're gonna need a bigger park."
I just love all the sarcasm in this movie. I was used to Betty White in shows like Mary Tyler Moore and Golden Girls. The first time she cussed in this I almost fell out of my chair. 😂
I loved Bridgette Fonda....she was such a great actress but retired early in her career to raise a family. Check out Point of No Return when you get a chance.
This came out during the summer of large underwater monsters, circa 1999. Deep Blue Sea is another one. I never would have thought that I would laugh so hard going into this. People were roaring at the Betty White scenes. The Golden Girl went ham. If you notice that in the party scene, Hector does a version of the Carleton dance for a brief moment.
It’s a great movie because it could’ve easily just been a straight up horror film with some no names that would’ve been forgotten but not only is it a great cast but it was brilliance to turn it into essentially a comedy even though it isn’t advertised as that. It does what so many horrors forget to do today which is to actually make characters you care about and the best way to do that is have them bounce off each other using humour.
It's one of my favorite movies. Great cast, effects, silly but fun plot, and especially a fun script with some great lines. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Much love from Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️
"I'm rooting for the crocodile. I hope he swallows your friends whole. You might want to arrest me for that too. Is that a crime?" Fun Fact: In the hospital, someone can be heard paging Mr. Miner in the background. Lake Placid (1999) was directed by Steve Miner. Killer Croc Fact: The crocodile, either as CGI or animatronic, has about 3 minutes and 43 seconds of screentime. The man who created the crocodile for the film was none other than Stan Winston. Winston was also the creator of the monsters in Aliens (1986) and Jurassic Park (1993). Gun Enthusiast Fact: Sheriff Keough's (Brendan Gleeson) "big gun" was a fake gun made specifically as a prop for this movie, as opposed to just putting blanks in a real gun. They even gave it a fake name, calling it a "Light Weight Forward Area Air Device Unit" which itself is a pretty good parody of military jargon. It was not an M-203 grenade launcher, which fires 40mm grenades. The "grenades" shown with the gun were a good deal smaller than 40mm.
One of my all time favorite movies. It's a total guilty pleasure movie that is a solid 10 out of 10 (even though it's not a perfect movie, but my love for it makes it 100% fun)
@JLloved your reactions :) and Betty White was a national treasure with a career as one of the best of all time as a actress and a person. I love the creature feature, my favorite horror genre
Yeah, I will always re-watch this. Bridget Fonda is Henry Fonda's granddaughter, good acting history in her family - Henry, Peter, Jane, and Bridget. I think maybe Bridget is Peter's kid. And of course the whole cast was just great for this. Um, the sequels get progressively less good I think, though they're fun too. Thanks for doing this reaction, you had real similar reactions to what I had - I could relate, almost like being there! 😃 🐊 😶
I love this movie so much. Oliver Platt has some if thecbest lines. I saw you were reacting to it snd knew it was gonna be a good night. Btw, moose swim really well and can dive to eat plants off the bottom.
9:08 Moose like being in marshes, from my understanding. I saw a wild moose once in my life, going down a dirt road in the Colorado mountains in the middle of the state when I was on an elk hunting trip when I was 13. It was a cow (female) moose standing in a big open marsh area at the base of a mountain. But, not to mention, all animals need to drink, and that's pretty much how crocodiles catch their prey.
I’m struggling with depression something bad… idk if I can get out of bed most days. Thank u for being here for me without even knowing it ❤ Haha “ she’s gonna report me I promise u”
I love this movie! So great to see you having so much fun just watching it. Brendan Gleeson and Oliver Platt play off of each other so well--I'd love to see something more with them, too. Just great reaction!
Yeah 20:00 they're exaggerating with crocodiles, they're actually in the menu for more than just Men, there's tons of videos of them getting merked by Jaguars, Lions, Anacondas, Tigers, Hippo's and elephants.
There is a difference between alligator and crocodile. Gators have more of a U shaped head, while crocs heads are in the shape of a V. And the crocs in the eastern hemisphere are WAY more aggressive. They dont play
From the look at the poster (I'd forgotten until seeing it again) it's a freshwater crocodile. Alligators have broad snouts and crocs come more to a point like this.
Hello, you know that little yellow airplane. A Piper P-18 Cub. If you ever are able to get up next to one and look inside. It is surprising how little airplane there actually is inside it. They fought World War II with a lesser powered version of that plane. They are terrific.
I don't know if any one else will say this, Alligators live in fresh water but can go into salt water for some time depending on how salty it is, but there are both salt water and fresh water crocs, Nile crocs are the most famous fresh water crocs, and salt water crocs are the most famous salt water crocs, also there are American crocs, but in north America they are limited to Florida.
"Point of No Return" - 1993 action/secret government agent. Impressive music soundtrack. Staring Bridget Fonda (female lead in this movie). Consider reacting!
Olivia Benson from Law and Order SVU... I love her and watching her on that show. Real name is Mariska Hargitay. Guy that got out of the car, I don't know his real name, but he played in Casper the movie, I know for sure.

R.I.P Betty White
RIP, Betty White, for being hilarious in this movie.
RIP, Stan Winston, for bringing to life a giant crocodile.
RIP, the guy who made the peanut butter & jelly in the same jar, for putting peanut butter & jelly in the same jar.

I lost my older brother on his 32nd birthday 2 years ago. I feel you man. Sorry for your loss, try to keep your head up
Deepest condolences, James. I know it probably doesn't mean much from a stranger, but I'm glad to have you in our little EOM family.
thank you@@learobinson4450
im sorry for your loss too. thank you@@squeasel09
Hey JL! So a moose was probably in the water because they really can swim, and they often will graze/feed on the plant life on the lakes bottom. They are massive and terrifying creatures but have so much beauty.
Many animals are good swimmers. Was surprised to learn, from Prehistoric Planet, that there is lots of evidence T-rexs swam.

That is an incredible observation. All the B names. Nice.
Oliver Platt. His favorite film of mine is FUNNY BONES - which is actually a murder mystery disguised as a history of slapstick comedy.
@@SurvivorBri I legitimately surprised myself with that observation, so I appreciate that haha
@@reservoirdude92 I never would have picked up on that. The only star with no B in his name is Oliver Platte but good on the rest lol.
18:13
I love when he makes that "Ooooh" sound in these reactions.
I love Oliver Platt. It's been years since I've seen this movie, and I quickly realized that this is why I love him so much now. He was awesome in Flatliners, too.
And Bicentennial Man
The Three Musketeers as Porthos is my favorite Oliver Platt preformance
"Gatordile" 😂 Sorry J, I'm stealin that
As always, thanks for the reaction and the laughs 🙏🏼
Love your reaction to this. I only saw it because it had my fave guy Oliver Platt in it and he was brilliant. The back and forth between him and Brendon Gleeson was perfect. Love to know what the cow was thinking 😂
This has been one of my favorite movies for so long. I love the dialogue and the characters 😂.

Loved this movie since I saw it in theaters. The sheriff and Betty White are the best part of the movie.
In The Memory Of Betty White January 17 1922 - December 31 2021.🙏
I love this movie!! Betty White, oh how I miss your sass :) She was the woman who taught me that being called a b***h was actually a compliment :D
I just love all the sarcasm in this movie. I was used to Betty White in shows like Mary Tyler Moore and Golden Girls. The first time she cussed in this I almost fell out of my chair. 😂
Sheriff, "Everyone's a comedian sarcastic."
I love the high level of sarcasm. Oliver Platt (crocodile guy) was in a lot of movies and always stands out... he's amazing.
Betty White was crazy in this movie 😂😂😂😂
Awesome Work Bro, Thanks 👍👍👍👍 Greetings from Helsinki, Finland 🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸
I loved Bridgette Fonda....she was such a great actress but retired early in her career to raise a family. Check out Point of No Return when you get a chance.
And single white female
Been so long since I watched this, I can't believe my Granny let me watch this as a kid with the way they talk 😂😂
11:14 moose be swimming bro!

Oliver Platt is severely under appreciated

Same
Soon as I saw that you had this up, I HAD to see your reaction to Betty White lol
Great movie all around. Good actors, funny, and the special effects still hold up today.
Betty White is THE STAR of this film. Period.
@JLloved your reactions :) and Betty White was a national treasure with a career as one of the best of all time as a actress and a person. I love the creature feature, my favorite horror genre
He plays on Independence Day as the president and he plays on the movie Casper

I never understood why some ppl think Lake Placid is trash i always had such a fun time watching it
Me aswell, watching it many times.
I love these hidden gems under the radar movies that don't take them self serious.
It's highly entertaining
I love this movie so much. Oliver Platt has some if thecbest lines. I saw you were reacting to it snd knew it was gonna be a good night.
Btw, moose swim really well and can dive to eat plants off the bottom.
Yep, Betty White always reminded me of my grandmother...even after she talked to the cops in this movie.
I can tell you were a super nice person by the way you treat your animals. Much respect!
remember the actor with the grey hair and glasses- you'll see him pop up again in one of the later halloween sequels...
Drogo got a good point, you need to listen to that man 😂
Got me doing the Carlton dance 😂😂😂💃💃

Dude. I always smile when watching you
Bill Pullman, the wild life guy and main love interest, played the president in Independence Day, Spaceballs, and While You Were Sleeping.
Gotta love Betty White.
Saw this in theaters as a kid this is a family classic
I’m struggling with depression something bad… idk if I can get out of bed most days. Thank u for being here for me without even knowing it ❤
Haha “ she’s gonna report me I promise u”
Not gonna lie, this movie is one of my underdog favourites. So much fun!
Betty white.. nuff said
27:04 that was a good scare! 😂
Also 27:35. 😂
4:00 One of my alltime favorites! ❤❤! Hilarious dialog, super rude people! Betty White stole the show
the most hilarious moments are the innuendoes between Hector and the sheriff. 🤣
I love this movie! So great to see you having so much fun just watching it. Brendan Gleeson and Oliver Platt play off of each other so well--I'd love to see something more with them, too. Just great reaction!
so glad you found this gem

I have been waiting for you to watch this one!!!!!
One of my favorite B-movies. Betty White is amazing.
I’m so happy you reacted to this movie 🎥
The legend that is Betty White ❤ r.i.p xx
Awesome reaction and the Sheriff was from Independence Day.
This is one of my fav movies. I love your reaction,

lol i wold have been gone when the canoe flipped and i went flying through the air. straight to the local bar/hotel for a few days lol
Oh man i love betty white sooo much, so many other great names in this movie but 99 years wasn't enough time with that national treasure.
Thanks for playing, bear.
thanks. great movie
The actor playing the sherriff is Brendon Gleason, famous Irish ? actor who was in Braveheart with Mel Gibson, his friend Hamish ...
"The berr, the berr, the berr's face" lol
From the look at the poster (I'd forgotten until seeing it again) it's a freshwater crocodile. Alligators have broad snouts and crocs come more to a point like this.
They have a whole Lake Placid saga 😂😂
Hello E.O.M., I love this episode of " The Golden Girls Gone Wild! ". " Hey! "
Hello, you know that little yellow airplane. A Piper P-18 Cub. If you ever are able to get up next to one and look inside. It is surprising how little airplane there actually is inside it. They fought World War II with a lesser powered version of that plane. They are terrific.
Bettie white is goated
I haven't seen this movie in a minute. And I didn't know he was Mad-Eye! I didn't put it together until you said it!
REST IN PARADISE BETTY WHITE
Loooove this movie! Quote it all the time 😂

Your commentary always cracks me up to the point where I try not to be drinking nothing while I'm watching. A lot of reactors suggest that the viewer grabs a snack and/or beverage in the intro, and I get it, it's like going to the movies. Snacks and drinks just go with watching shit. But my phone malfunctions enough as it is without me spewing Blue Powerade all over it, you know what I mean? 😅
"That's the MF-er who got Captain Hook" is my favorite quip from this reaction because, as a Hook fans/sympathizer/erstwhile roleplayer, the exact same thought occurred to me the first time I watched this, not long after Betty White passed. My inner James Hook quaked struggled with hella PTSD whenever that monstrosity was in the scene, poor bastard. Peter Pan is bogus as hell for doing old boy like that. I always wanted to see a reaction to the under-appreciated and forgotten movie called "Simon Birch".
An actor in Lake Placid made me think of it.
Simon Birch is one of the few movies that had me crying at the end. I found out later that it was based on a true story.
Fun film.
Awesome reaction of my favorite Lake Placid movie!!!!😊😊😊😊
Cant wait! 😊😊😊
the cow that escaped at the end of the movie was cussing like it was starring in a quentin tarantino movie🐮
20:03 I guess you've never heard of Gustave the giant Nile Crocodile a maneater who was responsible the deaths of 300 people in Africa.
People who were documenting him were so suprise at how large Gustave, he was so big he even made Hippos afraid of him.
Hee hee, funniest stuffing seen in a while😂
Yeah i loved this movie when i was a kid i still have my vhs tape
A good Bridget Fonda movie is Point of No Return and a good Oliver Platt movie is the 1993 version of The Three Musketeers. You're right though, Betty White is the GOAT!
"Why would a *moose* be in the water?"
Because moose are known to swim!
I remember this movie , Betty White ♥️. Bridget Fonda. Family to the Famous Fonda family… her movies are pretty good, POINT OF NO RETURN, IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU, DOC HOLLYWOOD, SINGLE WHITE FEMALE, just to name a few👍♥️
I used to watch this a lot as a little kid. I haven't seen it in probably 20+ years.
That scene of it eating that bear blew my mind and freaked me out to think about it in dark murky waters. I used to pause and rewind on VHS, looking at those scenes frame-by-frame.
And the opening scene of the guy being bitten in half freaked me out and warped my young mind. I couldn't comprehend how someone could be alive while missing their lower body.. But sadly, I unintentionally see videos of similar things in real life every time I open the bird app. 😒
For me, Betty White made this movie a total joy to watch.
Fun fact: There is only one known crocodile that has to actively hunt and put hippos on t-shirts is Gustave, the Burundi Man-Eater.
Imagine just driving along, not knowing they're filming, and seeing a HGV drive past with a Crock that big strapped to the back lol 😲
