The women are sisters, Ann and Nancy Wilson. The song is "Magic Man". The song is an exquisite example of the ABSOLUTE BEST ROCK of the period and is still played regularly on classic rock stations, which YOU should listen to. There are a pair of monster, lead guitarists at work. One played a Gibson Les Paul Custom electric guitar, while the other preferred a Fender Stratocaster electric guitar. The weird, "spacey" types sounds are from a Moog Synthesizer, a keyboard instrument. The song is about and dedicated to one of the lead guitarist, not sure which one, that Ann Wilson was banging at the time. Nancy Wilson was banging the other. When she sings, "He's got the magic hands", Ann both is referencing his abilities as a master guitarist and as her lover. Anne Wilson (the singer.. ) has one of the best voices in rock, imo. Nancy Wilson (the guitarist) is very impressive. Some other great songs from them are "Crazy on You"," Baracuda" and a more mellow song is called "Dog and Butterfly"... you are hilarious, super fun listening to this with you. Love ya, Jojo! :)
Heart is the premier female band of all time. Hands down. If you want rock and roll that has future tech sound you should give Styx a listen. Same era as Heart but Dennis DeYoung has a sound so undeniable. Check them out.

I saw them in 1975 as they were the back up band for April Wine. What a concert that was and i fell in love with Heart at that point. Anne has a beautiful voice and Nancy is a wicked guitar player. Good reaction and thanks for sharing.

The guy was taking Ann with him from Seattle Washington to Canada in order to escape being drafted and sent to Viet Nam. This song was Ann telling her mother how she's in love and going with her Magic Man. Little sister Nancy had to wait a couple of years before she could meet up with Ann in Canada. By this point Ann has either put a band together or joined a pre-existing band. One night at a rehearsal Nancy joined Ann to sit in and have a jam session with the band. The rest is Rock N Roll history. Although , they really to thank Rod Stewart for taking them on your with him as his opening act all over Canada. They got mediately signed and did the impossible by having 3 top 10 singles from their first 2 albums.

One of the facts of copyrighted music is that it wouldn’t be played unless it was the right length. You will find very few popular songs - songs broadcast over the radio - which were less than 3 minutes long. Often the artist would put out two versions of the same song, one which was in the 3-4 minutes range for radio play, and then the album would have a longer version. The artists in the recording studio could “get in the groove” and make a long instrumental part in the middle or the end. Remember that these were the days of “sex, drugs, and rock & roll.” So, many of these songs were either performed while stoned or were meant to be listened to while stoned (or both). Groovy!

One of the facts of copyrighted music is that it wouldn’t be played unless it was the right length. You will find very few popular songs - songs broadcast over the radio - which were less than 3 minutes long.
Often the artist would put out two versions of the same song, one which was in the 3-4 minutes range for radio play, and then the album would have a longer version. The artists in the recording studio could “get in the groove” and make a long instrumental part in the middle or the end.
Remember that these were the days of “sex, drugs, and rock & roll.” So, many of these songs were either performed while stoned or were meant to be listened to while stoned (or both). Groovy!
