Very helpful video, with a lot of explanation, I've seen a few other videos where they don't hardly say anything or talk a lot but leave out some important details, but a lot of explanation is given here, and because of the coolant spill you mentioned,I drained my radiator ahead of time so only a few drops came out when removing the hose or bracket from the turbo, I removed the bracket on the underside of the turbo because it seemed a bit easier than removing the hose and lining it up correctly for reinstall with the tight work space, mine is all stock with no modifications so I had more confidence with that method, Great video, And thanks for the help
9:59 what are those two bolts that go from the exhaust manifold to the back part where the the turbo attaches to. I need to get two new stud bolts and can’t find them.
So I heard that your best bet is to order them from the dealership, I can’t remember the part number for them but yea call them up and ask for the Vband studs, or if u can find someone local that’s parting out their gen coupes, you should try that
Yo Collin I have the exact same model as you. Have you experienced code P2261 turbo bypass valve? If so how did you fix it? I’m wondering if I could just replace the blow off valve instead of the whole turbo.
I bought it second hand, there are companies that’s make them for our cars… u do need to get tuned if u swap to a stuffed turbo bc it’s technically like going to a bigger turbo, so now u introduce boost soon and more efficiently, plus it’s not properly regulated so yea tuning is a must and for supporting mods, just be FBO and have bigger injectors and a bigger fuel pump and ur good 👍🏻
Nope no tune at all since it’s stock everything, I just did normal preventative maintenance like spark plugs, oil change, all that fun stuff just to be on the safe side ya know
@519_Garage ahhh okay so that could also imply for setups where if someone was running a big turbo setup and that turbo blew up they could just buy the same turbo without tuning it because the ECU is already programed for the build,I get it now
Definitely get a tune if you upgrade the turbo in any sort of way, as long as u have an exact oem replacement turbo there is no need for a tune ya know
@@CollinGanttI just installed my turbo, has to watch your video along the way, I noticed that I'm leaking oil from the top oil feed line, I manged to tighten easy but I'm running out of ideas
114,7xx miles on it and for the last 12k miles I’ve been beating the life out of the car, driving full throttle everywhere I go and I drive like 50+ miles a day

I’m glad that this really helped you!!! Thanks for the support!
Yeah thanks for the video. I have my 2010 because one similar set up but my car started smoking and my hot pipe has a oil all in it.
Sheeeeesh
Get ittt booooyyyyyyy👏🏽👏🏽
🤙🏼
My turbo is having a bit of drive shaft play I felt it, I feel like my turbo is going out I’m 63k miles and my car started to smoke
Sounds about right to me lol
Hello brother can I ask diagram for vacume hose when install blow off valve

Did you have to burp the coolant system after this? Doing this tomorrow
Idk if u have to or not but I did anyways just incase
You use 2 blow off valve??
No it was routed so one of them was close but I ended up putting a block off plate on the turbo
Do you need a block off plate when u have a bov by the throttle body like yours
Not necessarily, u just have to then T off everything correct so that the diverter valve and the cold side BOV doesn’t interfere with each other
Hey man what fuse am I supposed to take of I see 2 fuel pump sign. Is it the big green one or is it the small one
Just pull all the ones that say fuel and injectors and u should be good to go

I never had that code show up for me but I hope u figure it out soon
Where do I get a stuffed turbo from?? and is there any supporting mods required for the stuffed turbo? or a tune?

What’s the block off plate on turbo for ?
To replace the factory Blow off valve on the turbo bc I have an HKS BOV on the cold side which is better for the car overall
where did you get that oem turbo
Facebook marketplace as usual lol
Just be careful with that I was lucky the one I had gotten was low mileage and didn’t have too much play in it so it’s been lasting a while
@@CollinGantt thank you
Did you have to tune afterwards even doe it was an oem turbo?
