On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

The sad reality for the rest of the world is that 186 F-22s, against all of our emenies, are only limited by their payload. They might get lucky and take down 1 or 2, but they probably thought that about the F-15 and look how that worked out
I think only around 150-170 are still operational
The raptor is so heavily limited by its payload and their numbers. Not to mention possible lack of spare parts

What fantastic fiscal responsibility gentlemen. - Not one wasted missile lol - that was brutal. Two F-22's essentially destroyed two thirds of a Fighter Squadron in one sortie
Thats what you call making the enemy Combat Ineffective. It doesn't matter that they still have planes somewhere, as long as those planes no longer have the power to execute missions. If they can't cover themselves A2A then using them till they all get Splashed is just a waste of equipment and manpower.

Your first re-engagement with the last 2 fox-3’s is the perfect shot to describe “fire and forget.” You shot and trusted that AMRAAM with your life
AMRAAM are not exactly 'fire and forget'
@@harshilshah980 yes, they are? Their active radar allows you to fire and not track the target like a fox-1 like the sparrow. They are capable of being defeated though if that’s what you mean but that’s true of all missiles
At that range, they are.
@@beng7844 Most AMRAAMS have to be guided from their mothership until short range, then they use their own radar. Close enough they can be fire and forget but from longer ranges they need to be guided up until their own radar switches active for best chances of a kill
@@_SVG_KT_ yea, this is a flight sim channel, we all know that. His point is, they ARE fire and forget if you need to, you can absolutely at long range toss an AMRAAM in the general direction and pray it gets a lock on its own.
The 21s had a good strategy to try and sneak up on the raptors during the initial conflict, had they arrived earlier they might have caused some trouble for the f-22s and _possibly_ bagged one (heavy emphasis on possibly). Just shows you how critical timing is when in an air engagement.
A good strategy assuming it was their only option. The better strategy would be to not send 21’s to fight raptors

@@Rufus6540 that could have worked, but if the 29s showed up late like the 21s did, I honestly doubt the fight would have been much different.

Stealth changes everything
Skeptics of the F-35 go to red flag all the time to see for themselves and are made believers of stealth technology on the very day they have to fly against one. There are horror stories of their entire flight being wiped out before they even know they're being attacked. The power of these aircraft is very real and not exaggerated in the slightest. There's no equal to them in the world.
@@Horible4 F35 has been found in red flag by a 4th gen plane and was shot down. The F22 has not
Dogfighting is really the only chance other aircraft have against the F-22 and most don't have a chance there either. It's not a fair fight BVR.
@@cartmanrlsusall Not really. In reality you got anti stealh radar that leads the missile towards the target and the missiles own sensors can easily do the few remaining meters.

Did you hear about the Peregrine Missile? Supposedly has AMRAAM range, Sidewinder (possibly 9X) mobility, and since they're half the size of the AMRAAM, the F-22 and F-35 can carry twice as many Peregrine's as AMRAAMs internally. Imagine them on something like the F-15EX, though...so much boom.
Yeah, the Peregrine will be a nasty piece of work if it reaches the claimed goals, and there's a chance it will be even better with out us being told.
Sounds too good to be true, tbh.
How can they be half the size? There are some performance and size constraints set by the specific energy of fuels. Are they air breathing?

@@clairecelestin8437 Lighter weight, new more energy dense fuels, more clever aerodynamics to reach higher speeds and coast longer, different motor geometry, lots of reasons a new missile could perform so much better
Can you imagine The Ultimate Pincer.....F15Xs drawing the Bandits to them...then the 15s launching en masse and scooting away while some F22s, that the Enemy has never seen, swing around behind and mop up whoever is left.

There was talk about doing something similar with B1s after upgrading them to F22 engines. Load them up with A2A missiles and have them follow a flight of F22s at distance. Enemy moves to intercept the incoming bombers, only for the unseen F22s to paint the targets for the B1's missile payload. Dunno if that'll ever happen or not, but it sounded brutal.
I just saw the title as "2 F-22's against North Korea". No hesitation in my mind, "Oh that's too easy man. Kim Jung Uranus would probably surrender after the first 30 minutes of the F-22's being in his airspace."

This was a straight No Fly Zone. Really shows what owning the skies is like.
For that you have to destroy the anti air systems and radars, all of them. Jets do not matter for that.
I can only imagine the fear I would experience merging with an f-22 in a mig-21... especially after seeing two of them absolutely destroy TEN mig-29s with ease.

There is supposed to be a half sized ARRAM in developement with the same capabilities so that they will be able to double the loadout.

This is why internal missile storage is so important for stealth planes. This job would need more F-35s because they don't carry many missiles.

If you're in a mig 21 and you merge with a raptor just punch out, it's not like your wingman will live to tell about it.
Thing is they won’t know that it’s even there.
The scary thing is this demolition of 14 NK fighters seems completely plausible if the scenario was to occur in real life. In 5 minutes more than 1/3 of their known strength of MiG29s was lost.

Noob question, how do you quantify the splash? ie Splash #1, Splash #2 etc?

Splash 1 means the 1 missile has hit a target, that increases for each target hit. so on target 4 it would be splash 4 if a missile hit
