Stealth is so awesome. This kind of thing would be nigh-suicidal with a singular F-15. I also wonder how well F-35s would do in such situations.
The F35 probably would not be capable ot running away from a Felon so there's that.

I was just saying, I'd love to see a variation of this mission type, recreating the Frisbees of Dreamland chapter of Red Storm Rising, with the F-22 sporting Sparrows and Sidewinders as a stand in for the F-19 Frisbee.
An ace in one mission with six missiles fired to equal five kills. And you got back safe to go do it all again... Really impressive stuff...
Love these secret squirrel missions, there was one you had a while back flying just off the deck and killed two fighters that just took off with out you being seen, love that video too.

Really cool mission. You should do more missions like this where you are just a sneaky assassin being sent in to take out just 1 or 2 targets to really mess up the enemies plans.

Great flying you did the f22 Justice. 1 aircraft had an entire army of heavy hitters scrambling and never even got a missile off. An entire fleet of f22s is like doomsday for any countries Air Force

@@smyers820gm Radars have used pulse doppler techniques to detect low flying planes for a really long time. First one I think was on the F-4J all the way back in the 60s.

@smyers820gm no it doesn't mean that they are 100% effective. But perhaps effective enough to vector interceptors to the general direction of a potential bogey. As the Russian AWACS did in this video.
It really would be that lopsided, not just because of the F-22. Your SA and threat assessments added greatly to the success. Splash 6, in order of priority, un-ass the area post haste, extend beyond Felon range with altitude and ABs that will actually light at FL700, which Ruskie after burners cannot. 1,000 mph is cuttin' a fat hog at any altitude

This mission reminds me of the final mission in cold waters, where you have to penetrate a bastion with your own long, steel cylinder full of seamen (aka the submarine), to sink a soviet ssbn.
imagine what the NGAD could do with it's stealth and missiles

Be more successful than success? I am pretty sure he set out to kill only what needed killing, at least it sounded that way to me. Also I think they have the Felon stealth overstated
@@SeedOfElijah yeah the Felon's stealth is compromised because of it's inferior radar absorbent material technology and its air intake discs visible from the front

@@jimmcneal5292 In Fourth generation fighter jets was meant to be dogfighters. The F-22 wouldn't stand up against anything like the F-16, Eurofighter, Mirage 2000, Gripen, Rafle, Su-30, Su-35. The Rafle and Mirage 2000 has proven to keep up with the F-22 during exercises.
@@subjectc7505 Exercises are not relevant because we don't know the circumstances, in some of them F-35 won against F-16 even "in close combat" in some others it lost even in bvr.
F-22 has good chances against ANY other fighter at short range because it has good thrust-to-weight ratio, reduced IR signature and supermaneuverability.

There's something sexy about these "cloak & dagger" type missions. On your own, threats everywhere, just pick off what's an immediate danger, take out two high value targets and finish with an overhead break from 70,000 feet. Don't get much better that that!
F-22 is nutty. If the DSC counterpart is even half of what real F-22 is capable of, that's scary for anyone that has to fight it.

Love the video, favourite channel as ever and you're really helping me get into DCS and in learning loads. One question to GS or anyone else: I can't decide on the f18 or f16 as my first full fidelity module. Obvs f16 is superior at BVR, but with dog fighting it seems like they're pretty evenly matched with the Hornet excelling in the one circle and the viper in the two circle. Beyond that has anyone got and knowledge on which is more fun to fly/which has the greater advantage after the merge.
The f18 has a couple additional features like carrier ops. I think they more or less have the same weapons functionality at this point, so I don’t think one is superior in that front, except the f18 can carry a lot more ordnance which might equal more fun.
pick whichever you think is coolest tbh, thatll help with the learning process. if you're invested in the plane you'll be less discouraged by all the learning that comes with full fideltiy
i personally enjoyed the F16 the most when I played it, and when people say it's the easiest module to learn, I do see why. It's fun to play around with and definitely a great fighter. I would recommend the F16 but it's totally up to you
Would say get the f18 because it has carrier landing capabilities, and you can perform a lot more missions and scenarios with it, and also, I have heard DCS "Veterans" suggest the f18 over the f16 if it is your first module you are buying.
I saw this one 4 times in a day, such a dominant display of airmanship kept my mind engrossed

well at least you didn't use the AWACS as the outfront missile magnet this sortie. The Flankers would also use their IRSTS to try to locate you while in AB. But then they'd need to be close for a Fox2 shot or radar lock for a Fox3.
Felon just couldn't get close enough. The missile wins a sprint, but the plane wins a marathon.

Against SU-57s then Mig 31s and SAMs? Impossible. This mission need stealth.
What I was saying, 2 or 3 wingmen (F-22), and the 15's on stand by just in case thing go south.
@@pale_2111 I think one F22 or even F35 wil be helpful. F35 with datalink can help F15s locate enemy targets.
An ideal setup might be: 1-2 F22's for the penetration. 2-3 F35s to protect the flanks. 2-4 F-15EX on top of the friendly Patriot site to cover the retreat. Or for a futuristic version, replace the F15s with 1 B21 loaded up with AIM-260s.
Question: if the F-22 is emitting, in order to track and fire on enemies, why can't the enemies detect those emissions? Wouldn't they know as soon as you lock on to them, or even search for them?

I have a thought. While you were ingressing into the target area you had your radar on and the enemy was detecting you. I don't think they were "seeing" you but were detecting your radar emissions. Try the same mission but only use AWACS to vector to target, only turning on the radar to make kills you have to make and maybe you can avoid being detected prior to engaging the main targets...
No his radar was off, he only turned it on to kill the su35s once it was clear they were being vectored onto him by their awacs.

Really like these fuller missions you're showing off lately
Would love to see a variation on this mission, based on the chapter Frisbees of Dreamland from Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising. Use the F-22 with Sparrows and Sidewinders in place of the F-19 Frisbees, but otherwise set up the same, with goal of taking out the enemy AWACS.
This wouldn't work with Sparrows, because of the fact that the AIM-7 is Semi-Active Homing Radar Guided missile, so, that would leave GS exposed to the Russian fighters, and he wouldn't survive to RTB.
