    Solid info! Glad you mentioned the feedback lol. Been there done that! Cue out seems like a nice one to do as well. Cheers and many thanks. ❤

      Haha yes! Dangerous stuff lol. Yeah cue out gets you another output to use for the loop, though just at one shared level I believe, so there's less fine-tuning of how much signal you're sending per track to the output. Thanks for watching and for the comment!

    Great video I am leveraging for the second time. Question: I noticed in all your other videos you are not using your TX-6 for sends/returns. Why is that? Using dedicated effects for every synth?
    I am always debating using dedicated effects or a full chain. Thank you for this and the other great material.

      Thanks for coming back! It’s true I never really use it this way for my demo videos. I really only have it so I can control things like gain, mono-to-stereo duties, and the occasional light compression, or to run a couple devices at once. Since I’m trying to demo a singular effect 99% of the time for my content, I never really bother using it as a send because I’m trying to showcase the effect fully - if you know what I mean. Why bother routing it that way when I don’t need to? I would absolutely use it as a send/return if I were doing serious recording or if the effect didn’t have a blend/mix control, but most if not all do haha. For example in my main studio setup I have a Model 1.4 and use the dual stereo send/return setup all the time for my own production work, which I mostly do so I can have the flexibility to apply those two effects to any of my maxed out channels. That being said, I’ve used the TX-6 a lot off camera where I run multiple devices at once and it’s great having that send/return flexibility for more complex, portable setups. Hope this helps! :)

      @@Duskmos Thank you. Makes sense. I go back and forth never happy with either. I may end up with a DF Minibay Patchbay for full flexibility. Thank you again for the awesome content and the response.

      I hear you! I keep the OTO BIM and BAM on my two Model 1.4 aux sends to always have delay and reverb at the ready, and then whenever I want to use a unique effect on a device, I just run it before the mixer. That works for me, but it really depends on your setup and what you gel with, workflow wise. Patchbays are a great choice too! I personally move effects around too much to even make a patchbay a little bit useless for me too, because even those don’t have enough in/outs to use across all my devices - so I’ve decided to live with just being deliberate with my choices and pulling out specific tools for specific needs.

    Where did you get those cables? Love the clean look!

      Super clean right? The white ended ones are from Teenage Engineering, but the solid grey mono to mono 1/4 to 1/8 are from Ctrl-mod.com - workhorses for my shoots!

      I'm glad it was of some use!
      I've never used USB audio with it actually, but I think you should be able to as long as it is a channel that you can send to the Aux. Not sure if switching to USB audio mode somehow cuts out that audio path for some reason, but I think in theory it should work fine.

      Thanks for the compliment! They're from ctrl-mod.com - their own house branded cables. They're perfect for mono signals on the TX-6, I just wish they made a stereo 1/8 to 1/4" version haha (or if TE would!).

    Hey there, thanks for the video! I had a question that I couldn’t find elsewhere. In order to route to the aux does it have to be done on the unit or can the output be seen from your daw when connected by usb? Or does the daw only see one set of stereo outs? Appreciate it!

    • @Duskmos
      @Duskmos  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the kind words - I wish I could help here but I just don’t know haha. I have yet to use this as an interface with a DAW. Routing gets confusing pretty fast with any mixer, but I hope someone sees this and can help! If I try it out I’ll get back to you for sure.

    Is there a way of using the TX6 as an fx pedal on it's own? I've tried routing it through my Vermona DRM1 MK1V (out/insert on channel) and nothing. I tried it also as an aux send which also didn't work. It would be so great to access the TX6 fx this way. Thanks!

    • @Duskmos
      @Duskmos  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t see why not! You’d just have to go from source>tx-6>destination and that should work as long as you’re going into the inputs in the top and using the main output as the out. The tx-6 would process the audio in realtime and send it right out.

    • @neurodadvergent
      @neurodadvergent หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Vermona into any of the inputs either as a stereo signal or split into 4 channels and you can use the TX-6 effects. I still would encourage anyone to get a nice reverb. I pair my Vermona with a Strymon BlueSky.

    Hi! Is it possible to have 2 aux? I mean have two independent aux to have two different effects chains. In the manual I see an aux split possibility, but I'm not sure. Thanks for the video!

      Hey! They just added Aux Split to the device via firmware 2 weeks ago, I just updated and will be exploring this very soon! :)

    Sorry to bother you.. I was watching your videos on the TX-6. I am wondering if it’s possible to record the aux send in Ableton? When I record in to Ableton I get the audio without the aux effect from the pedal. My OP-1 Field is on channel 1/2 in Ableton and my Aux is on 11/12 in Ableton. As the TX-6 is a 12/in/out to the DAW. I can record the Aux on 11/12 but as you know my volume is just the effect and not the full volume from 1/2.
    Again sorry to bother, simply can’t find my answer

    • @Duskmos
      @Duskmos  ปีที่แล้ว

      No bother! Though I'm not sure I fully understand what you're asking. DAW stuff is always a bit tricky. It sounds like you're just recording the post-effect Aux return (fully wet) on 11/12 and getting nothing out of the input of 1/2? Are you recording silence on 1/2 - like using the Aux send is taking channels 1/2 out of the mix?

  • @billymoustache

    Can the Cut Out also be used for external fx send/return?

    • @Duskmos
      @Duskmos  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can use it as a send for sure, you just lose it from the main mix output, so you wouldn’t be blending the clean channel with the fx return, but instead get the signal through the fx on the return and nothing else - which might be fine depending on your application! Hope that helps! :)

      @@Duskmos Thank you! Yes, I was originally going to run the main out into an OTO Boum then run that into my interface... and then I thought "Why not just put Boum in a send/return (already have plans for a Stereo Field in the Aux Out) and then I can use the TX-6 as my interface instead?" So, sounds like that's an option!
      So many great things in such a small package - it arrives tmrw and I can't wait to get it integrated! Cheers! 🦆

    Would you be able to send signal to the TX-6 from Ableton, into a pedal, back into ableton with the processed sound?
    Also is it possible to send signal from ableton, into TX-6, into my cassette recorder, back into ableton?
    Sorry if these questions are too much to answer, but hopefully you can steer me in the right direction 😅

    • @Duskmos

      Hoping the community comes through for you here, because I don't use Ableton, or any software at all outside of Logic Pro - and that's for recording only. I know you can do some fancy routing over USB but it definitely gets pretty complicated pretty fast from what I can tell. I'd poke around on the forums and check. There's a lot of discussion on llllllll.co and some on elektronauts.com (two places I spend time) but def on some dedicated TE forums out there as well. Sorry I can't be of more help, but good luck!
