He's very in touch with the 'intangibles' of using electronic instruments. He pays attention to the creative flow and feel of things, and does a good job of articulating it. Totally speaks to me.
Very nice series! I appreciate hearing a professional's opinion on this device as opposed to all the hobbyists that have fun bashing it for views. It is still way too expensive for anyone who isn't serious about it, but so is your instant mastering chain. Quality and specificity comes at a price, after all. There's nothing else exactly like these devices and so they can charge a premium.
I actually _love_ the idea of a tiny but high-quality mixer. The price tag is _insane_ though. Well at least for my use case and purse. Nevertheless, it would be really desirable to bring such a tiny mixer to a rehearsal / a gig / the couch table / a train...
@@JoQeZzZ Blue Box is way more capable and a lot cheaper. And not much larger for portability but big enough so the controls are a lot better to use. So yeah, that's something I also think people should consider before a TX-6. Cheaper, more connectivity, midi, multi-track recording, etc.
I wish they would make these slightly bigger for ease of use and maybe a version with more inputs. Personally, I need more inputs and control than this currently has so I would only use it as a sub-mixer which makes the price a little tough to jump on.
I would think the primary use of an audio interface would be to use it as an audio interface, not as a mixer. Mixers are cheap. 12-channel/6-stereo-channel audio interfaces are much more expensive, and enable me to hook many external instruments up and get individual channels in my DAW for them. I've watched about six people doing videos on TH-cam and none of them except Cuckoo seem to know what this device is for or how to demonstrate it.
My producer side really wants to compliment my battery powered OP-Z-based setup with something as portable as the TX-6, but my inner DJ really wants analog filters and tweakable EQs that can withstand hours of intense club abuse plus 1/4 jack inserts and all kinds of routing options. If this was heaven, there would be a holy grail combination between an Xone 96 and this.
Quite unrelated to the actual content of the video (which is great btw), but I love hearing you work out how to say what you're trying to say in English. You'll try one way of putting it that's very close, but immediately realize that it's not quite how you want to put it, then quickly find the standard English way of putting it. Keep up the dope content! :)
I would love to see a Vermona Perfourmer review. Just to see stimming jumping from knobs to knobs madly (and because it is one of the best analog synth around)
@@MStimming omg... I just realized my brain should have been high pass filtered... will watch it again. I even already commented it. Time to sleep i guess
I just love what TE has done here, the last 1 minute of this video say it all, I've done my gig, now I'll pack my mix, and the mixer, and the FX processors and their freaking nonexistent power supplies in my pocket next to my Zippo lighter and my cigarette pack and just leave the stage, if you think that's not a philosophical statement, then you design something as mind bending as a classic pink panther episode and just fold the gig and put it in your pocket, lovely video Martin, as usual 👌😊
Have to say the FX sound nice. Would you recommend this as a summing mixer for a modular case over something like a BlueBox? EDIT: he prefers the sound of the BlueBox. Hmmm
Stimming, please put the grandmother on the list for a future video! I’m relatively knew to hardware and the grandmother was my first hardware synth. Would love to see you mess around with it and share your thoughts!
Octatrack or Blackbox - What should I get??? I'm gonna get myself my first synth setup as a birthday present, budget is very limited, so I must get something that would be actually good on the long run. One time purchase, lifetime music making! I was thinking Octatrack MK1, used costs 600, and then maybe a few tiny synth to play with and sample from... But now I want a mixer-Blackbox-synth combo... Nice music by the way!
@@musictalk-tech Martin said it first! Typhon deserves a video, and curious about the lemondrop - bit annoyed with 1010music though, as bluebox firmware seems almost completely abandoned already!
no, but the problem is (and I forgot to mention it) - you need new minjack cables as the usual ones don't fit. but, I found out, everything on amazon which says "extra slim" or ultraslim works, so not that bad... their cables do cost twice though
Just personal opinion but for me this doesn't seem super useful. If it was really cheap then maybe it's sort of cool to be able to take around a small mixer but seems like one of those things where the idea of it is better than actual practicality. There are quite a few small mixers available for a lot less money. Some with fewer channels but if you're running that many things into it, your setup probably isn't all that portable to begin with so the smaller form factor is less of a benefit. And just personally, I think the form factor may just be more annoying to work with than a mixer with larger controls. For some people it might be really good but I can also see it being one of those things that people will buy because they like the idea of it, and then never end up really using it in practice.
I really dont understand this thing. Small gimmick doesnt work for me / just like if it was the size of a car...cant work with it easilly. Basically has some onboard fx, digital plugins really, but you cant even adjust the parameters!! lol. I passed before it was made. And that SCREEN?!!! WTF?! These parts are not that expensive nowadays....even a cheap breakout cable w/ a 3-5inch display would be decent enough. These guys charge way to much for all there stuff, I pass on all of it % And I give 2-Shits about there "Philosophy" ...what a joke. (excuse me)
Please review the Typhon! Thanks for the review.
Love Stimming’s mix of professional standards & undercurrent of silliness

I've seen it in "real life" and I still can't believe how small it actually is..! Great engineering

I don’t really care about the TX-6 much… but now I want a Typhon and a Lemondrop

This is basically the blue box but worse in many ways and about twice the price ;p

of course we'd like to see you review the Typhon. what question is that :)))
Nice review with a good taste of stimming flavor. Thank you for sharing
Stimming always gives such good face.
I would watch you review a chicken schnitzel sandwich. 🙌
lol, I watch and then I’m like, I need to buy… 😭
I don't know how I would deal with those faders/kobss in a live situation. You're brave.

+1 on the typhon!
review the Typhon
Review the Typhon too!
Thnx for this one!
I know you are picky about reverb, so it’s a pretty big endorsement that you are using the TX-6 reverb.
Yes please on Typhon! Lemondrop too

this with OB-4 and OP-1 can play outdoor jam no power supply needed and sample too with these three small devices.
Fab video thanks!
@12 mins haha. Cool video. Next to the Lemondrop the tx-6 seems reasonably priced.
"It's aggressively minuscule" 😆
Typhon, Typhon want to see Typhon!
you got all the latest toys haha! bless you Stim!
Nett eklärung. Danke
I wonder what did make you moove from 1010 bluebox to the TX-6 ? By the way, i'll be delighted to ear your thoughts about Typhon
Size and weight?
@@musictalk-tech Hum...yes, of course. it makes sense.
Rig rundown for current live setup that the subwoofers move while you’re playing?
Ultimate pocket mixer, recorder, audio interface and synth box in one like the OB-4 the ultimate radio looper speaker.
Great!! But…. kinda short?
15 minutes like the title says 😉
I have 6 fingers on my hand. One is very big, one is medium, one is tiny, one is wide, one is small and one is fairly big. Can I use this mixer?

Wonder what brand and kind of cables you're using.. Stereo mini-jack cables from 1010 to the TX6 or all mono?
Typhon review would be great
tomorrow
Have to say the FX sound nice. Would you recommend this as a summing mixer for a modular case over something like a BlueBox? EDIT: he prefers the sound of the BlueBox. Hmmm
unfortunately max input for the tx6 is 2V - the 1010s accept up to 5V so for a modular definitely go for a bluebox!
Do you use the ERM Multicock for your livegigs ? And if so, whats your thoughts on it ?
how can i make such bassdrums around 9:00?
which kind of machine would i need?/where might these be sampled from?
Well this should be good.
