The MOST useful video on TH-cam! There I said it. I had so much trouble with this stuff and I have similar gear but am pretty new to syncing all these devices. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
When I try to turn the knobs it reminds me of when Homer Simpson gains a lot of weight and tries to use a telephone and the operator says “ the finger you have used to dial this number are to fat, please try your call again”😂
People complain about the price but don’t realize how much us packed into such a small device. The UI is so good too it’s almost as “playable” as any other instrument.
Quick UPDATE for OG OP 1 users. Vanbots guide works for us too. All you need is a USB TO USBC adapter, (costs no more than 5$) for your op 1 cable. This will let you plug your OG OP 1 in to TX 6 once you do that, change sync on OG OP 1 to “sync” (there is no “midi sync”) and that’s it, it’s synced.
Sweet tutorial, just got my TX-6 a few days ago. Did you experiment with BLE? From what I understand, clock is not super reliable over BLE, but I'm even struggling to send start/stop transport from the TX-6 to my OP-1 Field via BLE. Thanks! Also just realizing now while testing via USB that because the TX-6 has no dedicated play/stop buttons, stopping on the TX-6 will always rewind the OP-1 Field loop :( You can't pause and resume the track.
This was great! You explained really well and gave me several ideas I want to try as soon as I get home :-) Also, this has made me discover your music and I LOVE it.
this was very helpful for me thank you vanbot! im wondering, do you ever get audio feedback loop when you have both usbc and 3.5mm cable connected between tx6 and op1? i sometimes get audio loop feedback but im not quite sure why. thanks!
Hi! Can this method used in the same way with non-TE hardware? For example, with Volcas. Or would you need other cables for that purpose? I'm kind of new to this stuff, so I'm sorry if there's something conceptually wrong with this question. Thanks!
great video! btw.. I found that mine cannot detect tempo from USB when I use it as an audio interface for the DAW. imagine you are playing from Spotify or whatever.. through TX6 in ch1 as an example... (using USB).. it only detects beat if you plug audio into the TRS connection but no from USB .. At least in my case. Do you have the same issue?
I got my hands on a TX-6 and I'm really disappointed in finding out that it's sync clock is a proprietary signal that's really only meant to clock other TE gear. I have some Moog and modular gear that I wanted to clock using this device but the TX-6 doesn't seem to able to do the job.

Thank you! Happy to read this 😀
No jive. Had me up and running in minutes.
The subtle flex of having *multiple* OP1s in the background!

Haha, yes they're tiny, but when working with it you'll get used to it and the size itself really opens up a lot of possibilities!

When I connect the op1 field via usb to receive clock, it also is sending audio out from the op1f via usbc. Is there any way to disable that?
thanks for the question. In the USB meny select OUT, then go back by pressing shift. Now it should work, otherwise let me know :)
Please more tx6 content

Hi! Thanks for the question. Go to the clock menu and choose USB as source. that should work, otherwise let me know. /V

wait where did you get these green cables?
the last minute of your video is a mess of sounds....sync'd but out of position....not a good advert for TE
