I figured I could figure something out how to make them usable for me. I tried your method tonight and this was so easy and took all the sub coating off! Thank you so much

I do have a question, because I am new to sublimation.. once you strip off the sublimation you had on, from what I understood, you cannot resublimate these because the coating is now removed, correct? Or am I wrong? I don't do the resin type tumblers. I just wanted to understand the terminologies and to make sure I understand the final product, once its stripped. I had some tumblers that I had baked to lighten the design because I had planned to resublimate using a darker design but they didn't lighten up as much as I wanted and a few I had not baked yet. I decided to combined your technique with anoter video I had seen. I've thought about learning to do epoxy but wasn't sure if I can aford adding another craft to my repretoire. I saw another video where the man sanded his tumblers and then used high heat white spray paint and Polygloss to recoat the tumbler lfor sublimation. You can add polygloss directly to the silver tumbler and resublimate as well. Your tutorial saved me the step of sanding and the cost of having to buy an electric sander. For some reason the tumblers that I had baked were harder to strip, I ended up leaving them wrapped overnight. Thanks again.
Only if you respray a sublimation spray like Subli-glaze. They have it in white which is what you need. I'm going to experiment with the ones I'll strip down.

I used it on a white sublimation 20oz tumblers. It worked in 2 days instead of a few hours, I guess cause we are way up in the mountain area.. now, after removing all, it basically became a stainless steel tumbler. Did you put the sublimation coating on it to reuse it?? Cause it doesn't sublimation afterward?
You can also use pure acetone and it comes right off. Even if you mess up epoxy, pure acetone will take it off. You could buy it by the gallons as a nail salon store or a hair store.

Yes it will. This method is for stripping it to use for epoxy of vinyl decal. However, I combined this method along with another method I found on another channel. I stripped some down today. The other channel the man sanded the tumbler then used white high heat spray paint and polygloss to recoat the tumblers so that you could resublimate it. I used the Citris Strip method shown in this video instead of sanding. The only tumblers I had a problem with stripping were ones that I had previously baked to lighten up the design so that I could sublimate over it but they didn't lighten as much I needed them too. I didn't have time to do the white spray paint today and polygloss today. On one of the tumblers I just did the polygloss on the silver because I just wanted to give it a try. I picked out a blue brush metal background and did the name so that it was the silver color of the tumbler. It came out really good. I'm going to try the white high heat spray paint and polygloss next.
i messed up a tumbler and decided rather than throw it away I mounted it on my lathe and sanding the white coating off. Now I have a stainless steel tumbler sanding to 800 grit. I can engrave it on my laser but can I sublimate it?
Hey, I tried stripping a tumbler using same brand of citri strip, but I have the spray . Along w/ wrapping w/ foil like yout did. So left it for 2hrs. & nada came off. What can I do ? Thxxx
Use pure acetone. You can buy it at Walmart right next to polish remover or go to a beauty hair supply and buy it by the gallon. It’ll takeoff spray paint on your cups as well as epoxy if you mess up and sublimation mess ups
Same here I tried & nada. So I'm glad I saw this because my tumbler has been sitting for 2hrs now. I decided I had to try again lol But now it will definitely pull an all nighter 🤞🏼

I tried acetone it did not work for me.

The tumblers that I strip are the white sublimation tumblers I mess up on… They strip down to stainless steel

No once you strip it you can sublimate it and more.. I do glitter tumblers , wrap them with printable vinyl or dtf transfer
