Let me know if you’ve ever had pimples, rashes or a serious infection AND how you dealt with it!?🤔👊🏼
so I've FINALLY RELEASED AN UPDATED 2023 TATTOO AFTERCARE VIDEO th-cam.com/video/dnp8hdiJZKk/w-d-xo.html it's been 4 years since I've released this type of video and since then I've gotten MANY more tattoos (check out my latest full chest piece th-cam.com/video/7WltTDfgcQk/w-d-xo.html ) and I've experimented with different techniques & products since then to make the aftercare of your new tattoo much easier while still giving the best possible heals.
That being said, these older videos of Aftercare & Healing STILL WORK GREAT and from the feedback ive gotten from all of you, have healed ALOT OF TATTOOS AMAZINGLY ❤‍🩹🔥

Ok so I JUST got a new tattoo on the back of my arm. Literally it's 2 weeks fresh.
The tattoo got Rashes, and Pimples. This is the first time it ever happened and it freaked me out. I thought I had an infection. I was also in another country and couldn't seek medical care.
A lady at a pharmacy said it looked like a had a rash and inflammation and not an infection. This gave me hope.
The tattoo was super puffed up and felt so hot and painful. I used saniderm so I thought it mightve been the cause. It worried me so much that I removed it. The rash was so large and very raised. The entire tattoo felt hard.
The tattoo was only 3 days old and it was still tender and still leaking fluid. So I was terrified to let it touch anything.
I bought cortisone with me for bug bites and saw it also helped with rashes. I used antibacterial soap to clean it. Pat dry with gauze pads and used a tiny bit of and cortisone on the rash areas. Literally the next day the pain reduced significantly. I wanted to use something less strong than cortisone so I bought aloe vera.
I used a mixture of cleaning it 2-3 times a day and applying aloe vera and aquaphor all over and cortisone on the really heavily rashed areas.
I also covered the tattoo with a wrap so that it didn't touch or rub up against anything. Like my clothes or people. (People bump into the back of your arm more than you think) And that it didn't get dirty. My main concern was an infection and since I removed the saniderm early I was concerned the skin was still open and susceptible to bacteria. Also looking at it kinda freaked me out. All those bumps. 🤢
After 4 days the rash had turned dark red and the swelling reduced. It was still slightly warm. I wrapped it up whenever I went out to protect it but I let it breathe when I was at home.
About 5 days in (the time when I would've removed the saniderm) the skin started to peel off whenever I rubbed lotion on it. I reduced my usage of cortisone and aloe vera and just used a small bit of aquafor and lotion for dry skin. It was super dry from the aloe vera so I wanted to make sure I was moisturising it. The aloe vera helped fight bacteria so I definitely kept using it with the dry skin lotion.
After about a week it started to look normal- the rashes were gone and the swelling was mostly gone.
Now I'm 2 weeks in with my new tattoo. Most of the top layer of skin has peeled. The areas were the rashes were are tender. The skin looks soft and healthy again. I know I probably made tons of mistakes but when you're on the spot and alone. You really have to make split second decisions and I was determined to save my new tattoo. I know now from this video that I probably didn't need to douse my tattoo in so many creams. Less probably would've been more. But the end result is still the same. I am just glad I listened to my instinct to remove the saniderm. I never reacted badly to it before.
Its just something that happens sometimes. And now I'll be prepared for it in the future 😁

Thank you! I used to apply lotion twice a day and I felt like my tattoo wasn’t breathing enough because I would get pimples and my tattoo would take longer to heal, so I took your advice and now I’m only lotioning it once a day and I feel like my tatto is healing more nicely now and looks a lot better 😃

I was super freaked out and thought it was infected. Your video really calmed me down, I removed the Sandierm, washed the tattoo, and avoided putting lotion on the rash.24 hours later the ditch area looks and feels 100 times better!

I’m dealing with this now. I got a tattoo on my shoulder (today is day 14) and my shoulders have always been prone to breaking out anyway. I think it’s a mix of irritation from the Saniderm and over cleaning/over moisturizing. Most of my breakout is on the areas where the Saniderm was but not on the actual tattooed area. This is the 2nd time it’s happened from Saniderm so my artist said that we probably won’t use it again since I’m having a poor reaction. On week 2, I backed off the moisturizer and only washed once a day instead of twice with a lot less soap and that seems to help calm the breakout.

I’ve been having crazy allergic reactions to tattoos & it’s gotten to the point I’m getting traumatised….my skin gets super red and irritated & I get hives all over the tattoo. Doctor said it wasn’t an infection (I’m hygienic when it comes to tattoos to try and make them heal well) and could only prescribe me steroid ointment which I only applied around the tattoo because I saw online there’s a chance those type of ointments can affect the clarity of the ink on the skin overtime. I need to go to an allergen specialist to determine what ingredient I’m allergic to in generic tattoo ink because I want more tattoos but as of now I can’t handle them no more 😭😭
I don’t believe it’s a reaction to using second skin just because I’ve sued second skin to heal laser tattoo removal & the area never got irritated or had any other issues so it’s likely an allergic reaction to the tattoo ink- BUT my most recent tattoo touch up the second skin literally ripped off a piece of my skin with it I don’t understand how or why 😭

Is this something I should be worried about, or does him tattooing over a not 100% tattoo seem to be the problem?

I just wanted to let everyone know about an allergic reaction that I had. It’s called photosensitivey and it hurt so badly. It’s super rare but it does happen. My dermatologist said it’s an allergy that happens when the sun hits the ink before it’s healed. I wasn’t even out in the sun , it was from the sun light hitting my arm while I was driving. It started as pimples but then blistered up like a burn !! I thought it was infected at first and the Er gave me 2 antibiotics and antibiotic cream that didn’t work because that wasn’t the problem. The dermatologist told me in 47 years he has only read about it , through social media I’ve found one other person with it. Just wanted to let y’all know just incase. Oh and I can still get tattooed I just have to stay indoors during the day until it’s healed.

just got my first tattoo 13 days ago and yesterday a small area of pinkish-red irritation cropped up just on the outside edge (aboout 1" in length, by .5 of an inch at the widest). My artist isn't concerned by it, though it is a little warm. I wonder if I may have scratched it in my sleep but the rest of the tattoo is healing fine she said. I think my skin around the tat is also really dry still from the saniderm I had on for the first 4 days, despite moisturizer 2x a day. But I've been taking advil and icing it in the evening to lessen a bit of swelling but it's hard to tell what's stilll swollen bc it's on my upper arm. It's been flaking nicely though as it heals and the itchy stage is crazy lol

Hey Bro, I got a tattoo 3 weeks ago. My artist (new guy) just killed my skin to the point where there has been cracking along the outline. It still has not healed all the way. There has been a white crusty look to it. What I am worried about is that it was suppose to be black and grey but for some reason some of the color still looks like it has a purplish tint to it.
I was in the gym, and notice someone who got a new tatt that looked wrecked. He said the artist tattooed him in the same spot the very next day. Guess what? It was same artist.
You have any recommendations? Been to Dr and started antibiotics. I am more concerned with the purplish tint. When I rub my hand over it, the color lightens up.

my new and first tattoo is healing like shit.. First week was good and during the second week i have like an allergic reaction.. went to the doctor and he confirmed that there are no bacterias.. my tattoo artist said its all fine unless it does not getting worse.. it all started when i washed my tattoo in the shower with a scented lotion.. i know im an idiot but i thought after a week it should be okay... now im learning it the hard way...
Im now at the 2 weeks mark and its worse than 1 week ago because the pimples are allover the tatto and its still red and itchy...
overall i think i used way to much thick lotion so my pores are clogged, my skin could not breath since i have a very soft and sensitive skin and the scented lotions/shampoos caused an allercig reaktion /irritation on my skin... i now completly cut off products and only use from time to time a very soft and liquid lotion, but only when i washed the tattoo.. i think im on a better way now but still very scared, the fear of bearing allergic to the ink does not go out of my head.. :/
