All you need is non scented antibacterial soap and non scented lotion

Is this just in the healing stage
You want to do this at least 2x a day while its healing, and after that just wash it during the shower. What really makes a difference after its fully healed is using SPF everyday (prevents fading) and using a good cream to moisturize. I find that oil based balms make your tattoo look more vibrant than regular lotions, but either will work!

Sunscreen is always a good choice! Not only for tattoos, but in general for your skin when exposed to the sun.
So if I know I can’t avoid the sun post tattoo, I can use sunscreen?

Thank you. Was a little confused bc I just got a big elbow piece for my first legit tattoo (first 2 were small and done by my friend in his garage) and the artist said to always Pat dry and not wipe or rub, but then told me to rub ointment on it 😂
