    This video was so needed! All of my tattoos are raised, however they don't stay raised 24/7. Sometimes I think it's because of the environment I'm in or the climate, but I used to think I was doing something wrong. Come to find out, it's just my body doing what it does.
    Thank you for this content!

      Because we are black baby our skin reacts differently, to tattoos. If your artist goes too deep into the skin. That raised skin is scaring. But we are also not medical professionals we can't always determine why but naturally our skin keloids. But we may have smooth tattoo on another part on our body and others tattoo may become raised! And like you said certain weather may cause it to get raised and itchy, like humidity on a hot hot day! Things to look out for is hot to the touch, puss, redness those are signs of infection so as long as you haven't experienced that and your tattoo is the way you like with those mild imperfections dont worry too much about it. There isn't enough research in our line of work yet to determine why this happens why that happens or why certain colors don't stay in the skin or certain ink and kind of ink you know. Im sure they will in the future but with whats happening right now with our new world order its just many on the list that needs to be addressed:) keep shining sis 🤎🤎🤎🤎✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾

      @@luxeacrylic3082 thank you!!! It is not the environment (despite you saying it is at one point... humidity has nothing to do with keloid scarring) and you are literally already on your phone totally capable of looking it up yourself... Yet you dont and continue to believe totally wrong nonsense. Blk ppl have more dense collagen fibers and the raised scars are from over regeneration of the collagen resulting in keloid scaring think back to EVERY SINGLE BLK FRATERNITY BRANDING scar youve ever seen. My burn scars on my skin (white) dont do that as much. Only on 1 of my 5 burn marks is the scar raised. This is something ive noticed my entire life growing up with mostly black friends. It isnt your environment and you're not dumb... But i wouldn't exactly call you very smart or resourceful either... Since you're literally seconds away from googling the answer but would instead rather live in total ignorance and watch a video of some id10t tattoo artist spout off what she just guesses it may be based on pretty much nothing. Its infuriating sometimes how much information people have at their disposal and yet they choose to continue on in complete ignorance.

    • @lebeaubastion
      @lebeaubastion ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Mine does the same. The reason for this is damaged or scarred skin looses elasticity and doesn't stretch as well as normal skin. Your non inked skin changes with humidity, but the tattooed area doesn't
      To help this, try using a hyaluronic acid before a light moisturizer and then a moisturizing cream chemical sunscreen over the tattoo to keep it packed with moisture. Make sure area surrounding it is also treated and see if that helps.
      Do this only after tattoo is fully and completely healed.

I tried putting another small tattoo next to it in case the artist messed up and it wasn’t my body’s fault. However, the second tattoo had the same fate. I have tattoos over 15 years old that do this, so I agree with you in the body may be rejecting it. I always have had sensitive skin, despite taking ink and Sun very well. I get dark when I’m tan. I have a tattoo that I got when I was 18. Its in the middle of my back. I noticed right away that it seemed raised in the outline. I followed after care to a T because I was so happy. The guy who did the tattoo said after he was done I went over it a few extra times so the color would look really good. Which would explain the amount of time it took him to do a tat that was as small as mine. Did he maybe go to deep or is it maybe because he went over over it to many times? Not that it really matters I would just like to cover it but the raised skin will always be shining through. The subject of it is great the execution was not.

I got a tattoo on my back where the tats raised at certain times of the year… I thought it was allergies.. but after that i started tattooing and I did some work my leg and never had any problems( I used inks like Intenze/ Kuro sumi.. im thinking it was the ink that was used on my back that my body tries to get rid off..

My hand isnt swollen at all and it’s not particularly sore but the tattoo itself has risen at least 2mm . It only hurts if I catch it . What could it be and how can I fix it ?.

    I had this happen to my first tattoo in the 90's when I was 18. Later I realized the tattoo was a mistake. I ended up getting it lasered off and lucky me, all of the bumpy scaring went away. I was told that it can happen but not for most people. I kind of knew it would though which is interesting. Almost like a willed it to happen.

    I have an unfinished tattoo that I did on my shoulder where I purposely went too deep in hopes that the ink would stay due to the fact that I had fairly bad psoriasis when I was younger which would cause the skin to scab and flake off taking the ink with it most of the time whenever the skin was punctured. This caused the skin to scar raised up so I never finished what I started. I tried peeling the raised skin off hoping it would smooth out eventually but it just caused it to scar more until one day when I was using a cement mixer I had my arm in the drum and the rim of it rubbed across my tattoo basically sanding it down like sandpaper but not deep enough to cause it to bleed and scar but enough to smooth out the bumps. After a few weeks it was still not raised up so I took some freshly mixed cement that was just beginning to dry and rubbed it very aggressively into the rest of the raised areas and was able to get the rest of the raised areas back down. Now I still have an unfinished tattoo that needs to be covered up but at least the skin is even now. It probably wasn't the smartest way to do it but for me it did work.

    stupid me at 18 had an apprentice at a shop used me as her lab rat, I got bunch of scars from it, whole patches raised up like bad scars and was pretty bad. Luckily I only let her do a small portion of the shading for the whole tattoo, which is a big tribal with lots of dark black covering whole upper left arm, shoulders and front left chest. She did a couple hour session which was mainly the arm and shoulder cap. I let it heal before doing more, as I was a bit skeptical cuss I’ve never seen her work, and it scarred bad, so I went to someone else to finish it. Over 10 years later now and they are still pretty bad scars. So for me, it was most likely needles going too deep, she was inexperienced and cut me good. Other tattoos I’ve had done later with professional experienced artists, even when some would be super itchy and caused little scarring, would always flatten out later when it’s all healed.

    My back is raised, but it's because the artist butchered my back. How do I know this? After getting the work done, I ran into many, many, many people tattooed by them, and we all had the same results regardless of how we healed our tattoo. He tattooed us with the equivalent of a fish hook. I've never had an issue with any of my ink, and I'm excited to finally have someone work on it almost fifteen years later. I've been extremely fussy who will touch it. After my newest piece, I won't trust anyone else to handle the train wreck he left.

    I had a white tattoo done as a kid, without any experience , I don’t remember what, if anything was done for thorough sterilizing or proper disinfecting, or how deep the ink was pushed… you would think not that deep since it has faded to almost gone after 15 years…? The tattoo definatly was not infected , it healed quickly without much scabbing. but it stayed raised , rigid, irritated, pink, inflamed, & extremely itchy for years, though at times it would calm down, with ice and cortisone cream. years after than any minor irritation to that skin like getting scraped, or bumped, and the entire tattoo , and then eventually just the part of the tattoo that got scraped would raise up & get itchy, ridged, inflamed etc again. Even now, 20+ years later it is mostly all faded, but if something irritates the skin where there is any ink still left in it, that part of the tattoo will raise up & become inflamed itchy again. I wanted to rip out my tattoo which covered my entire inner forearm, but that was not doable. it was so awful for soooo long. It was for sure my body wanting to push out what ever was lodged in it (the ink, or what ever was in the ink). I always assumed I was either allergic, or had some germs injected into my skin with the ink. My cousin had an allergic reaction to red ink and had to have the strip of his tattooed skin surgically cut out and sewn together again. Going to see a Dr. after the fact, is not enough to prevent a serious potentially dangerous long term problem. This brings up a lot of questions I need to ask a dermatologist now that I’m a newish tattoo artist& esthetician.
