S1000RR. MRR don't make sense for street use or occasional trackday. And I love having electronic suspension for the road; the comfort is unbelievable for this type of bike
I bought the new S1K because I think it’s the best value high end liter bike for sale currently. But if I could justify it, I would get the M just because it’s a cool feat of engineering beauty
Love how Michael is so humble. Compares himself to the likes of you and me when he has probably ridden every sports bike known to man at an amazing level at some of the best circuits in the world. On top of that the guy races bikes. It wasn’t that long ago that we had to buy magazines to find out how good a bike was, now we just click on TH-cam and a pro like this is giving us more information than we could ever have imagined. Great times and great bikes.
Love your honesty "get the Ducati" in a BMW review. You don't hear that every day. Me? I'll keep riding my '16 R1M and don't wanna even try this or the V4R. Cuz then I'd be broke.
Always loved the S1000 since it came onto the scene in 2010. I just can’t see the value over the standard S1000RR but some people out there will still buy the M version for bragging rights.
2024 will be very interesting, to see what a rider of Toprak's level can extract from this machine, hopefully Bmw improve for next year, really wannna see them win
I have high hopes for Toprak on it. The bike has potential. In MotoAmerica (WSBK based tech rules) this year Cameron Baubier returned from Moto2 and was immediately fast and a title contender on the M1000RR and if not for some bad luck and injury, was capable of winning the championship. The bike was every bit as fast as the Panigale V4R ridden by Josh Herrin at the faster tracks, they absolutely walked the Yamahas on the long straights. Next season I would not be surprised if Beaubier wins the title. With Toprak's talent hopefully they can improve the bike in WSBK and show what that bike is capable of.
@@brentbartley6838 Same thought here. Today Gerloff scored second fastest times in Fp1 and FP 2 at Magny-Cours. With Kawasaki and Ducati P1 in both sessions. Let's see what Toprak can do with it.
Not only are his videos always a pleasure to watch, several times or more, but I think Michael is unique among mainstream reviewers in actually riding to and from the track I love the edited 360 degree footage in this video. Great sound and video all around.
Saw one of these at a local track day and man does it look good in person. Of course the S1000 is more than enough of for us mere mortals, but the M certainly ticks the box for just being cooler than the sum of its parts
Such an awesome and detailed review. Just to make things clear, i am driving a Kawa Z800e from 2015 with less then 100 bhp, naked bike. So ... i can't even imagine how insane this bike feels. But due to your review i kinda know, what level of performance there is build into this bike. And it's beautiful as well. Thank you very much! Love from from Germany.
I think those are the Michelin's that come standard - a bit low end for such a bike I would have thought. I prefer the alternative Metzelers but you don't get to decide when ordering - just luck of the draw what tyres are on it when its delivered. My Sik thankfully came with the Metzelers.
2023 has done great in racing. Josh brooks as a hand full of wins and a lot of podiums. Cam in Moto America would of had the championship but missed a bunch of races do to injury. Hickman set the all out Isle Of Man TT lap record on his M1000 Super stock machine. The bike is extremely good.
I still think the 2019 released m package s1000RR is the best looking. Not a fan of those wings on either the new M or RR and they are pointless for the road rider if they only become relevant at 180mph. Those front wheel covers also spoil the looks and again useless for the road rider if they are only useful over 150mph.
Michael after your wise words about chicken strips is was impressive to see how you shredded the rear on a cold day without warmers.😊🎉 The front also looked used out to the edge which is something I can't do on my RSV-4. So I'm going to pretend that was due to the low pressure cold running more than high speed corner entry and talent 😄.. Thanks for your video. It was awesome.🎉🏁🍾
I thought I was over inline 4s, but I got to ride the BMW M1000R this past June and I was really impressed - what a great feeling package, from the engine to the handling. Given that the brakes and suspension on this RR seem to be excellent ... are Brembo and Ohlins components more than status symbols? Do they outperform what's on the RR? And from another angle, is BMW justified in charging that much for a bike with components that aren't top shelf (even if only in price)?
I can only speak for a 2021 S1000RR m package but the brakes on that bike are just awesome and by far the best of all my bikes. The brembos on my 2022 V2 Bayliss are a bit spongey but good although the brembos on my Thruxton R are pretty amazing too - but not as good as the BMW.
I am the target customer and I have no idea how they sell it this cheap. If I had a used s1000rr from a few years back and 20k I could not build a bike this good. Unfortunately I would get passed by a wera rider on a prepped 400 in the corners with my skill set.
