Thumbs up for the bike and Thumbs up for the Review. I am waiting for your team' s bruce Dunns performance testing. wish to see 0-60, 0- 100, 0-124, quarter mile and top speed test figures
When quoting the 205 vs 209 HP figures I am assuming that is at the rear wheel correct? Both bikes should make more than that just based on engine output I would think.
The 2015/2016 BMW s 1000 rr. . I have owned 32 litrebikes over years. ALL the gixxers all the generation ZX 10r all of the R1. And I feel the 2015/2016 s 1000rr has no equal
The greatest bike reviewer of all times , Mr Neeves !! I agree this bike is for race teams . The average guy will still be happy with a M sport S1000RR..
to sum up: the better buy is the S1000RR with full race suspension, full titanium exhaust, air filter and stage 2 flash and slicks/warmers or Q4s. More power, better handling, money left over for track days!
Totally agree. Or just get that 05 GSXR so when it goes cartwheeling down the track you don't worry about it. But yea, looking at the S 1000 RR as well.
8:55 An ex F1 aerodynamic engineer (cant remember his youtube channel) once modeled the race fins on the front of motorcycles, and found that actually the fins tend to have a bigger impact on the rear traction than the front surprisingly. What happens is, the fins create a vortex, which in turn makes the air at the back of the bike not separate, creating downforce. He used a pretty generic motorcycle model, so I am not sure how much of this would carry over to superbikes, but it seemed quite interesting.
With that superbike price in term short of money it's not worth it... Its better you just buy the new yamaha r7 or with the money you have just buy a house
I am 63 and have not ridden a sport bike in 10 years.... I was so glad to hear him say that it is hard to turn the bike wide open... my 2022 s1000rr m while pretty smooth and not lifting the wheel too much is a LOT to get used to! I have KTEC thru rods and their better shock on the way. I did the ti pipe and one of those 250 dollar air filter a couple of weeks ago... So far I love but I am really scared of it.
It was interesting to FINALLY learn some of the practical track day drawbacks of the S1000RR model when you mention what is different (like endo on brakes etc). And thanks for the honest assessment. Does help.
I got the racetec k3 on my 2020 BMW s1000rr m! My buddy has the same bike came with a different set of tires than mine though which surprised both of us! Both brand new!
I would of never paid attention if they didn't feel so different than mine while they are cold! I literally almost dropped his bike leaving out the driveway, IT WOKE THE SPHINCTER RIGHT UP LOL
I think its delightful - if rather expensive. I have heard one with a full system on it, and the competition pack, close to £38,000. wonderful sound when you get the CAT out of the mix. Another wonderful Neevesy video.
Hi Neevesy, i am having trouble operating the lap timer and wondered if you could help. Trying to use the flasher to trigger, i am in racepro mode (timer showing) and trigger test to manual. It works but will not increment past lap #1 and is not saving the laps (ie no delta laps air best). My BMW dealer cant help.
Hi I love your videos. Can you just explain what you mean by "if you tune the hell out of s1000rr, it just breaks"? That really concerns me as a future s1krr buyer
Now I understand why somebody offer for my S 1000 RR M package 34K. I have everything in my bike including Akrapovic full system. What is your opinion? sell mine and buy the M1000RR 2021?
As ever a great informative review. Like the underslung rear brake calliper so the pads don’t drop out when doing a fast race wheel change: goo detail. That said 31k and then strip it back to basic and rebuild with quality bits and bobs! BMW are having a laugh 😀
No motorcycle is worth that much money, but while there are patients who pay so much for motorcycles, we ordinary mortals can no longer buy a normal motorcycle at a normal price. Now, various patients will say how much a race car costs, like, it's the same. I've been on motorcycles all my life, but what's too much is too much.
Its a shame they stepped away from the HP4's carbon frame, but I understand that they probably wanted crash survivability. However it is rather odd that you pay so much only to get beeffier internals and wings. Like you say it really doesn't add up. I would hope there might some additional factory support or rebuild options at that price point otherwise get the bog standard bike do the internals yourself get CF bits from Alpha RAcing and put a trick suspension on and you got the same bike for less....
Me: I should get an M 1000 RR. Also me: watches this video "I should get an S 1000 RR." Also Also Me: I wonder if I can superglue winglets to standard bodywork.
Very good video thanks, had a 2017,a nd a 2020 1000rr now have a 1000xr which I will keep. at 75 years old if I can ride the M1000rr and I can get a deal the kids inheritance will be gone.
Awesome bike only needs a full system and a flash if you buy it for the road, The 1 thing against new BMW m1000rr is the price of a almost new but very slightly used s1000rr m sport, on auto trader it seems like no1 rides them as the normal mileage is below 3000 miles and most have less than 1500 for less than the price of a new base s1000rr, Probably not a better top end bike to buy used than this,
I just don't see why people would spend this much on a M1000RR if they're just goin to do daily driving on it. S1000RR is just the better option for everyday use
I'd be annoyed if manufacturers started throwing street bling on homologation bikes. You pay for the race version of the engine and chassis. Ditch the street bling and spend the budget on the chassis and engine because that's what the people that will buy the 500 units BMW actually has to sell care about. Don't even bother painting the thing because the bodywork is going in a box anyway.
Get the competition package, it comes with everything! The regular one is for poor folks who want the M! Or for folks that will change everything anyway and just want the cheaper M to start with.
This is a lecture about how you’re not as fast as someone with $50k or more. Get your game organized and hire a racing team already. Anything else is too slow.
Perfect explanation of the bike's characteristics...I'm so disappointed about this bike and the S1000RR in general. I'll still pick up a regular M package S1000rr someday and just mod it out but definitely not the M1000RR...it seems its just silly to pay that much for the same basic S1000RR..
