I have always had PCOS, basically since I was 15 (first period 12.5yo, now 33). The only solution the doctors gave me was the birth control pill, that I took for many years in a row. One also suggested me a pregnacy to rebalance my hormones lol. Then I decided to take a break and coincidentally to a bad break up I decided to do IF and then keto. 90lbs down, tons of muscles, best shape of my entire life. Went from a XXL to a M-L in the span of three years. It has been a long journey and I had a lot of bumps and plateau because I was also educating myself on my own and had to correct the things I was doing month by month. It was frustrating. I was alone for a long time, then I found out Dr. Berry and Dr. Berg. Best doctors of my entire life and they don't even know I exist and that they have saved me.
I've had it since age 15 too and I'm 61 now. I wish I had this info when I was young - my first surgery for ovarian cysts was at 15 and of course I was put on the pill and told to stay on it through menopause. I wasn't willing to do that.

This man is a genius! I was diagnosed with PCOS, had multiple expensive, painful procedures, including IVF, which, over the course of 14 years, were unsuccessful. I did get pregnant 3 times, but miscarried by 9 weeks. I ended up going to a weight loss center, dedicated to Keto-style as well as low calorie, lost 40 lbs, many symptoms of PCOS decreased dramatically, AND, I conceived my son naturally! I am still at a lose as to why my reproductive endocrinologist never gave this advice 🤷♀️ but IT WORKS!! Thank you Dr Berry, for all of your insight, and especially for covering this issue!! ❤️❤️❤️
That is amazing congrats! I’m trying to conceive too right now it’s been 6 years and the Drs are worthless in helping me I have to ask for tests with little knowledge of what I’m doing I try to research as much as possible but it’s so hard I loss 30 then gain it back then lose 20lbs then gain it back it’s so frustrating. You give me hope ty 🥰🙏🏼❤️
thank you for confirming I've been following this type of eating for the past 1.5 weeks already down 5lbs and despite my husband telling me I can't do cold turkey because I do struggle from carb withdraws but I do not have headaches anymore and have a lot more energy! Don't give up ladies put your health first. God bless you all
I have had PCOS since my teen years, almost 30 years ago. I didn’t get diagnosed until 27, when I was at my heaviest weight 305lbs. At that time I was mostly Vegetarian. My doctors thought I was lying when I said I am gaining weight eating salads. It was infuriating. I got put on birth control and Glucophage. It sort of helped. At least I wasn’t on my period for 3 months in a row. Now that I am Carnivore. I realize all that stuff was hurting my body. I’ve been Keto for 3 years and Carnivore for at least 1 year. My body needs large amounts of fatty meat to work correctly. If you have PCOS, drop all sugar and carbs y’all. It is slowly killing you. Dr Berry is one of the first person to open my eyes to true health and insulin resistance. God Bless you and your family Dr Berry. I’m always recommending people to watch your TH-cam. Edit: sorry for the rant! I just love you guys and am so blessed to have found this channel!
Listening to you made me shed tears. I struggled since 12, was diagnosed at 24..I am now 40. I will do this and come back to comment after 6 months. Thank you.
I have been doing intermittent fasting, taking moringa tea, no bread, no dairy, low carbs for 6 months. I just started getting regular periods every month 3 months ago...Doc knows his stuff!
I’m 41 and was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 21. I was put on the pill and told to lose weight. I was on weight watchers and slimming world diets for 14 years and was never successful at improving anything and my insulin resistance was getting worse and worse. At the age of 35 I tried Keto. 6 years later I’m still following a Keto and carvivore diet (I alternate days) and my periods are regular as clockwork, I have lost weight, I am no longer insulin resistant, my skin is better, my mood is better and I feel like I have no PCOS symptoms at all any more 👍🏻
@@suehowser3659 horrible isn’t it? Not an ounce of help received from anyone, I was just scrambling my way through trying to find a solution but nothing seemed to work at all. I was always advised to eat high fibre and low fat. I was so hungry all the time and would often feel faint because of it. The more I ate the hungrier I got. Vicious cycle. I’m so pleased I found Keto, it has changed my life. I hope you get some relief 😊
@@tamarquaye yes, it hasn’t gone away but has definitely improved. The most noticeable difference was that my cycle regulated. I would go for extremely long periods of time without having a period but once I lost weight they happened monthly without fail. My skin improved and I had awful skin pigmentation under my armpits which has also completely resolved now.
You have no idea how truly validating this video is. All my life i felt so lost and frustrated for answers and wishing I could be functioning like everyone else, and when you experience doctors throwing birth control at you like candy without any reassurance just so they can dismiss you as fast as possible for next patient in line... it hurts you as a person, you feel broken forever. Even the doctors that do recognize your pcos, they always paint it out as something that will always be apart of us and that there's no hope out there, and that you'll just have to deal with it. Again, thank you for this video.
I was diagnosed with PCOS at 15 and this is probably the most common sense approach I’ve heard from any doctor over the past 19 years. Thank you Dr. Ken!
Thank you so much Dr. Berry for this video!!! For years the drs told me it was in my head and only stress that I was gaining weight and losing my hair! Im a PA and I did my own research. Ive been on keto for about a month. I lost about 70% of my hair, saw numerous dermatologists too and no one could help me. PLEASE DO MORE VIDEOS ON PCOS!! LOVE YOU AND NEISHA!!! I have hashimotos and PCOs.
I'm in the UK and I was diagnosed with PCOS at 16 and I'm now 35 and never been offered treatment. Pre keto it took me 3 years to get pregnant, after a year of being keto I tried for a second child and got pregnant within 2 weeks of trying!
I have never been diagnosed with PCOS. But I have dealt with Acne. I have multiple cyst on both ovaries. Solution is always birth control or just have them taken out. I have never had peace about doing that and always knew there was a root to my issue. It starts with me taking accountability for my eating habits and ways. This gave me so much hope that my pain can be reversed!! Thank you!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I'm doing amazing! I lost 58 lbs in 2 months and it's done wonders for my PCOS, my Type 2 Diabetes, as well as my Psoriatic Arthritis. I never would've thought a simple change in diet could have such drastic effects physically, but also shift my mindset when it comes to food.
Thank you. One of the best videos I’ve seen about PCOS that really breaks down the root cause of this syndrome and gives you actionable advice. And all with a lot of compassion. Thank you for this.
Finally the truth is starting to come out on this!!! Thank you Dr Berry! I’m 58 yo and had to figure all this out on my own! Sick for many years. Depression, facial hair, weight gain, painful periods, and even “cysts” removed off of my ovaries! Still no help! Nobody knew or cared what it was. Antidepressants for over 20 years and skin tags! I had it all! Healthier than Ive ever been! Funny how you said could be caused from when you were cooking in your mother. Lol. My mother bragged that she didn’t eat while pregnant and lost weight with her pregnancies! Omg! This is the first time I’ve heard of this part of the equation. Thanks for all you do Dr Berry to educate us! ❤️
I really appreciate this video. For years no doctor was able to give me a straight answer about my PCOS. Even when I conceived “naturally,” all they told me was “They don’t know.” Thanks doctor for all that you do! 🤗
Yah we keep paying for blood work and testing from these highly rated endocrinologist who just don’t know. They don’t know but they sure as hell know they’ll still be paid. This is what makes me feel pure rage. Most medical professionals don’t even have a basic level of knowledge . And the rest of us are just their cash cows.
I wish I could’ve seen this video 20 years ago. I struggled with infertility for several years before a cocktail of PCOS medications and a low carb diet finally did the trick. Those were the worst years of my life. I stayed on a low carb diet after my first pregnancy and had no problems getting pregnant the second and third time (without PCOS medication). Now later in life I still experience symptoms if I start eating carbs again. I’ve been on my carnivore journey for about a month now and I feel so much better, rosacea is gone too! Thank you Dr Berry! Women need to hear this.
My girlfriend is planning to use pills again. I hope this video can change her mind. A lot of people underestimate the power of diet and lifestyle changes.
Keto made my PCOS disappear. My Dr was shocked as bloodwork didn't show any signs any longer so had me go through a tranavaginal ultrasound that backed up its gone "Bye Bye". This was only a little over 12 mths into my keto journey. I've been KETO for over 27 mths now & no looking back. Onward & upward!
It kind of makes one curious as to why the checkout aisles are loaded with corn syrup, refined sugar and other carbs like softdrinks and chips. The connection between ill health, obesity and diabetes has been known for a very, very long time. Yet we are supposed to believe that these government officials, heads of industry and health officials actually care about us and that is why they destroyed our businesses and economy over a common virus with a miniscule death rate. Now they want us to take their "cure" which is actually killing some people and making others quite ill. It's time to wake up, people.
This has been PROVEN AND TESTED TO REVERSED MY PCOS. Been a pcos fighter since more than 10 years now and only doing my kind of way of eating helps me a lot that my doctor got surprised. Depression, missed period for many month and being obesed those were my symptoms,it was really hard but if you really want to fight for it, yes there is still hope WITH PCOS. WE CAN ALL DO IT ☺💓💚💓💚thank you Doc Berry for this video💙💓💚💙💓💚

This is one of the most enlightening and straight forward videos I’ve ever found on PCOS. THANK YOU!!!!! I have been battling infertility and all doctors tell me is to try drugs and they don’t know how to treat the root cause. This video was amazing!!!
Thank you for this informational video, I've never been diagnosed with pcos, but after my first baby at age 17 I started to get hair on my chin and I'm still dealing with it, I'm 35 this year. I definitely have depression, anxiety, and stress because of it and I really hope I can start reversing this. I started working out 4-5 days a week 7 months ago and have lost 15lbs so far, but I see no change in my facial hair or my depression anxiety
I’m so sad about this. I was forced on WW since I was in 3rd grade. I was only maybe 10 pounds overweight. Why did my parents do that? I gained and gained. Finally got married, but couldn’t have babies. This pcos got worse & worse. Tonight is graduation and if we’d had kids they’d be graduating. Now my husband is dead and I’m 200 pounds overweight with no children. Please pray for me to be happy and lose weight. I finally had a hysterectomy and mourned again.

Thank you Doctor Berry I feel great and I cant feel the fibroids anymore and no more heavy bleeding and No more anemia! All this in 3 months! So grateful you have no idea
Thanks Donna for letting us know, could you please confirm in keto diet what were the things you were eating to shrink it, till i can follow the diet as well
I pray this becomes my story in the next three months. Please what was your eating regimen and what foods did you eat or did not. It will really be helpful.
@@Meskwe I was avoiding meat my whole life.. I was eating lots of veg. It was right for me apparently. So Now I'm eating all beef ,eggs, and bacon. And I lost 22 lbs in 3 months and the fibroids are shrinking because I dont feel them anymore. I know its there but its smaller. I still put a few tsp of sugar in my coffee but that's all I do as far as carbs. I drink applecidar vinegar in the morning and that has helped with the bloating. And I was using a Castro oil pack that helps clean out the system and it helped my cramps go away also. Give it a try I think you will be amazed. I've been struggling with insulin resistance and what I assume is PCOS, as I have some of the symptoms including facial hair and hairline loss and even had sis that need to be removed by surgery. I've also developed hypoglycemia within this past year and have been trying to figure that out. Wow this was really informative thank you for sharing! I'll be 31 this month and I have just been diagnosed with PCOS after having my second baby....I've had the oddly irregular mensie, absent mensie', hair growing in odd places, unbearable pelvic pain and more. I'm definitely being mindful of what I'm putting in my body these days! And no doctor has ever broken this down to help me target and treat the issue. You're a really awesome doctor.

Symptoms of PCOS: - Irregular/Absent periods - Acne - Excessive hair growth/loss in certain places - Skin discoloration - Stress, Depression... Medical professionals often treat your symptoms for PCOS, not the root cause -) HYPERINSULINEMIA What happens when hyperinsulinemic: 1. You eat a high carb meal (Sugars, starches) 2. Most of the carb gets stored in fat cells where they turn into fat 3. Because of high amount of carbs the fat cell starts to overfill 4. Fat cell is full and doesn't want any more sugar, sends a signal to release more insulin which 'blocks' sugar into getting into the fat cell (The fat cells may also burst) 5. You have high sugar levels and your cells slowly become more insulin resistant -) diabetic Ovaries and adrenal glands can't become IR - insulin sensitive while you're hyperinsulinimic How to reverse PCOS/Insulin resistance • Low carbohydrate diet - avoid starches, grains, sugar -) especially refined and ultra processed foods • Avoid plant based diets - high in fructose • Intermittent fasting and less meals a day, preferably 1-3 with no snacks between • Exercising, mainly resistance training + HIIT • Apple cider vinegar when on a low carb diet - brings down sugar levels (Doesn't do harm nor good when you're on a high-carb diet though)
I really enjoyed your video and explanation you right it took like 10 years to get a proper diagnosis. I really wanted to be a mother and lost weight and I'm happy to say my daughter will be 13 soon. It was a painful experience dealing with pcos I wish all the ladles dealing with this the absolute best 😊
I have been to several Dr's and none of them have talked about this. This is the problem they don't provide all the info. I am so grateful for this video!! Thank you
As a result of me (Mom) eating Ketovore for the past 16 months(lost 114 pounds so far) my daughter’ PCOS has nearly resolved. She probably eats around 50-60 carbs per day. I’m 20 or under.
I’ve had PCOS for 14 years and doctors don’t have a clue. They only care about prescribing a litany of medications even when I begged them to treat the root cause. Thank you for this video. Thank you for educating us. Hopefully one day other doctors will catch up…
For many years I suffered heavy periods that gave me anemia, suffered acne and unwanted hair on my chin. My doctor recommended endometrial ablation but never told me the root cause or even the name of my condition: pcos. I exercise and I'm fit so never thought I could have insulin resistance. I started keto 6 months ago and the first thing that disappeared was the cystic acne, I know have normal periods. I thank people like Dr Berry and others in TH-cam that want to empower people with information. Being fit doesn't always mean perfect health.. I could eat junk and exercise and was not overweight at all but my hormones were messed up..In the last 2 weeks I have been in the carnivore side just because I find my digestion is a lot easier and feel better
I was put on Birth Control Pills and Metformin when I was diagnosed with PCOS this December.. It got worst ...I did some research.. Through all the medication and changed my diet .. I am fine today. This Dr is absolutely correct.
Been dealing with this for decades - was very hard to even get those tests you mentioned - great video for women suffering with this - thank you so much

I'm 69 years old and never heard of PCOS until about a year ago. I'm sure I had it. I had all the "symptoms", except acne. My life would have been a lot better if this knowledge was around back then. Everybody watching this should pass on this information to the females in your life.
Reading this at 66. Diagnosed in 1972 (sorta) . Spent 2 humilating weeks at University hospital when I was a senior in high school, no period, facial hair, big belly. Through the years when I lost weight I would have period. My mother even fits in the picture but wasn't infirtile . Breaks my heart thar if I had known this I would have children and grandbabies. Even at my age, I have been on keto\ketovore for a year and down 50#
For years I've known more about PCOS than my health care providers. So I'm now working with a great team compromised of an Endocrinologist, PCP, and they finally listened to me who's been living in this body and fighting PCOS for over 25 years
Same!!! I been suffering for years with this frustrating syndrome!!! I’m glad to hear that there is a way out of this hormome hell..I literally feel like I’m in menopause that’s how bad my pcos is right now ..
I was diagnosed with PCOS at 16 after having still born twins (cycle started at 8 y.o.) over the years I went on to get to my highest weight of 320 at 28 y.o. they had put me on metformin and insulin (as I was also diagnosed as diabetic at 26) between the ages of 21 and 38 I had 3 more miscarriages, even after weight loss surgery (which had me down to 193 lbs.) Had triple bypass at 37 and regained 50lbs. I am currently 41 and have changed my lifestyle to keto to not only try to get the 50 off but to finally have a successful pregnancy. Dr.s are still trying to get me on meds (insulin and metformin) i refuse to take them. Would rather get healthy through food and exercise. Thank you for addressing this issue don't want to see anyone go through what I have because dr.s don't want to update their treatment of this condition.
My take on that is this....we are already in an infertility crisis in America, and my hubs thinks breast cancer was caused by birth control pills, I think I agree

Many women have been able to get pregnant by correcting the hyperinsulinemia through keto ( or ketovore/carnivore) and intermittent fasting. I learned I had PCOS at 18 and was told I probably would have trouble getting pregnant. I could write a book at how that affected the next 20 years of my life.
Don't you just love how so many of us were prescribed birth control?? That made my hormones go NUTS! I was also prescribed Metformin - which was equally awful! About 15 years ago I had a uterine ablation and I haven't had a cycle since. I don't know about anyone else - but IF and low carbs have drastically reduced my facial hair too! Recently got back on the Keto wagon after falling off during Covid! I feel a million times better!
Watch this Dr. I was telling my girlfriend about you guys. You guys look younger even then when I first started watching a couple years ago. You have to be doing something right because y'all look younger than just a couple years ago. Thanks for all the info
I know when I eat low carb I feel better, my cycles are right on time, my pelvic area feels better. When I go off and eat carbs my cycles are off and heavy, and the pelvic/lower back pain increases. As much as bread and sugar tastes good to me, not worth the pain. Thank you Dr. Berry❤
Yes, I've noticed this too. I've been eating too many carbs in the past few months and it feels like I have my period every 2 weeks and it's heavy and extremely painful. When I had reduced the amount of carbs before it didn't feel like I was on a rollercoaster.
I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2016 and Doc told me its not reversible and has nothing to do with diet. Keto and later carnivore since 2018 and its all gone. At recent check up there was no sign of cysts that i had. Period is regular now. Best health of my life.

I’ve taken those tests. Am on Metformin, birth control (soon to be just estrogen) and I did need Clomid to conceive my son. I have just changed my diet to a low carb, not quite keto. I am already seeing positive changes
I had PCOS throughout my 20’s & 30’s. I was also told it was incurable. Finally saw a fertility specialist who put me on Metformin & advised me to cut out all sugar and all sodas and 7 months later I got pregnant with my son. ❤️
Great video Doctor Berry! Very useful information. I just wish that more doctors had the same approach to dieting and were treating their patients like you do. Love your channel ❤ Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us 🙏
Thank you Dr Berry. I had no idea. I’ve never heard of this. Sooo guess I’ve never been checked for this. That’s why I can barely lose a lb. You are so knowledgeable . Thank you thank you!!!
My doctor told me that PCOS could not be reversed. I was diagnosed when I was 28 years old. Every doctor that I saw prior to that diagnosis said (about my symptoms), many women experience that. Ugh. 34 years later...my latest doctor said menopause does not change PCOS, and that I will always have it. I reversed T2 diabetes with lifestyle changes (keto). No more high blood pressure either. Now, Dr. Berry reports that PCOS is reversible! I wish our doctors were all on the same bandwagon.
YOU are absolutely right. In 1961, my obgyn ( a really good dr - there used to be many). He told me that there were only about 10 women with Stein Levanthal. Now, there seems to be 10 in every office. What changed 'birth control pills' I was told never to take birth control pills. He knew about the thyroid issues, but not the insulin issue. I have also had deep anemia all of my life. The estrogen patch is the first time in my life when I stopped fainting so much. And, recently for MGUS, I had to have iron infusions. I have been told that there are no accurate hormone tests. I totally agree with the protein almost no carbs diet. I did it for years and felt better (still had Stein Leventhal) and walked and walked every day. I was in good shape and tiny. Since I was young, the diet and the foods have changed so much that so much of the population is 'fat' and/or inflamed. When I was young, people were rarely sick after the polio raged through the last time in 1944. I had it and now have post polio, left me weak no matter how much I fought it. Now, I have kidney failure and can't have high protein - Have no idea and no medical system that even cares to help. I wish you were doing the lab tests the commenters said you used to do. I would hire someone to drive me over there and get the kind of blood tests that doctors used to give, not this test one thing and write a prescription stuff and then the C destroyed whatever was left of the health system - should call it the get rich on the sick system. By the way, I am a doctor Ph.D. Your research skills are unheard of in almost every field now. I really enjoy them. You can get all kinds of doctorates now with research never being taught and not having to do any to get the doctorate. '1984' has been here for long time. I hope you see this. since you don't practice any more, do you know of anyone who would like a nice complicated case?
It's magical isn't it! The bad thing is when I don't have a regular period It's actually more CONVENIENT. Society views periods as not very good at all. So girls grow up thinking missing periods is awesome.

This Dr is more than that, he is on the leading edge of The American diet! Change it like he says., study all videos they are priceless info. No I don't get paid, I just took off 22lbs in 3 months my Doctor have his blessings on Carnivore/Keto. Do it and be well. Thanks as always. Dr. Berry*****
Hi Dr. Ken Berry! I’ve been following the Carnivore diet for nearly three months now, and I’m feeling amazing! After years of being on and off vegan, I ended up with hormonal imbalances, leading to PCOS and other health issues. Could you share if Maca Root, iodine, and Myo-inositol are safe to take while on a Carnivore diet? I’m very satisfied with this way of eating and plan to continue long-term, but I’ll be consulting a specialist soon to see what they recommend as well. Thank you, Dr. Ken Berry, for sharing your knowledge and spreading the truth! Your videos have been such a blessing to me! ❤
Omg this is my first pinned comment ever! Thank you so much for doing that, but most of all for reading it! Love you 💓

Me too. They are a blessing to me too.
I've had it since age 15 too and I'm 61 now. I wish I had this info when I was young - my first surgery for ovarian cysts was at 15 and of course I was put on the pill and told to stay on it through menopause. I wasn't willing to do that.
You are a awesome human being. God bless you, and your wife and family.
Dr. Ken I am just tired of the lack of medical education for Women's health and PCOS. Thanks for doing this
EXACTLY!! Extreme lack of medical education for a very long time now

Becuz endos are notoriously bad practitioners of medicine
Wonderful story, thank you for sharing 🤗💖
PCOS gets better with age - easier to conceive naturally in late thirties and later
Which weight loss center and where is it located???
I do well on fatty meats but I need huge salads w/good amount of fatty dressing to fill up to be able to IF
Did you also drop fruit such as dates, prunes, peaches?

At the age of 35 I tried Keto. 6 years later I’m still following a Keto and carvivore diet (I alternate days) and my periods are regular as clockwork, I have lost weight, I am no longer insulin resistant, my skin is better, my mood is better and I feel like I have no PCOS symptoms at all any more 👍🏻

Thank you!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I literally started crying watching this video. I’ve never had hope that I can actually fix/reduce symptoms of this. Thank you! 🙏🏼
How is ur pcos symptoms now?
How are you doing now?!
Wish you were my doctor I think I would make it... this PCOS is a monster....❤️

Symptoms of PCOS:
- Irregular/Absent periods
- Acne
- Excessive hair growth/loss in certain places
- Skin discoloration
- Stress, Depression...
Medical professionals often treat your symptoms for PCOS, not the root cause -) HYPERINSULINEMIA
What happens when hyperinsulinemic:
1. You eat a high carb meal (Sugars, starches)
2. Most of the carb gets stored in fat cells where they turn into fat
3. Because of high amount of carbs the fat cell starts to overfill
4. Fat cell is full and doesn't want any more sugar, sends a signal to release more insulin which 'blocks' sugar into getting into the fat cell
(The fat cells may also burst)
5. You have high sugar levels and your cells slowly become more insulin resistant -) diabetic
Ovaries and adrenal glands can't become IR - insulin sensitive while you're hyperinsulinimic
How to reverse PCOS/Insulin resistance
• Low carbohydrate diet - avoid starches, grains, sugar -) especially refined and ultra processed foods
• Avoid plant based diets - high in fructose
• Intermittent fasting and less meals a day, preferably 1-3 with no snacks between
• Exercising, mainly resistance training + HIIT
• Apple cider vinegar when on a low carb diet - brings down sugar levels
(Doesn't do harm nor good when you're on a high-carb diet though)
also male pattern hair loss, ovarian cysts etc
Why not plant based cause you don't have to eat a bunch of fruits all the time

@carminecherries🍒 yes, over a year - 20kg or 44lbs.
I got diagnosed for pcos yesterday no symptoms no acne no hormonal change no facial hair but gaining weight i had been for a infection to my gyno but got this shocking news i have pcos need help
I have 2 kids convinced naturally they are 7 and 8 yr old and didn’t plan for any child so im not sure if im infertile
Perfect timing! I've had PCOS since I was 18. 24 now and my insulin resistance has gotten better but my hair loss is still out of control
Hair loss is hard to resolve
As in grow back
Try to do carnivore, I had the same problem as well and I tried carnivore ish. Now my hair was thick and long.
Do you think it's the additional zinc helping with the hair loss?
Plz get your thyroid hormones checked
I’ve taken those tests. Am on Metformin, birth control (soon to be just estrogen) and I did need Clomid to conceive my son. I have just changed my diet to a low carb, not quite keto. I am already seeing positive changes
I had PCOS throughout my 20’s & 30’s. I was also told it was incurable. Finally saw a fertility specialist who put me on Metformin & advised me to cut out all sugar and all sodas and 7 months later I got pregnant with my son. ❤️
How many mg of metformin are you taking and for how long do you have to take them???
I took metformin from April 2004 until I was 6 mos pregnant in May 2005. Sorry, I don’t remember the mg.
I don't think it's curable I think it's manageable without symptoms
Thank you for very clear important info Dr. Barry 👍🦖🦖🦖
Best video on this topic i've seen on youtube! and i've seen A LOT of videos about this!
You are saving so many of young women's lives and giving us hope , thank you so much 💕
Great video Doctor Berry! Very useful information. I just wish that more doctors had the same approach to dieting and were treating their patients like you do. Love your channel ❤
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us 🙏
This guy knows what he’s talking about!
I only needed to hear the line "you are not broken" wish my doctor told me that when I was first diagnosed with PCOS
Get in touch with Dr Mabosa on TH-cam he can help you
Thank you Dr Berry. I had no idea. I’ve never heard of this. Sooo guess I’ve never been checked for this. That’s why I can barely lose a lb. You are so knowledgeable . Thank you thank you!!!
Dr could you please speak on Scalp Folliculities...🙏
My doctor told me that PCOS could not be reversed. I was diagnosed when I was 28 years old. Every doctor that I saw prior to that diagnosis said (about my symptoms), many women experience that. Ugh. 34 years later...my latest doctor said menopause does not change PCOS, and that I will always have it. I reversed T2 diabetes with lifestyle changes (keto). No more high blood pressure either. Now, Dr. Berry reports that PCOS is reversible! I wish our doctors were all on the same bandwagon.
I just had a checkup with my doctor. He was totally peddling the SAD. I just shook my head and said thanks doc.
drs are not interested in our health. The only thing they are interested in is making money.I avoid drs as much as possible.

So grateful for your channel! Thanks for all you do Dr. Berry!
I hope you see this. since you don't practice any more, do you know of anyone who would like a nice complicated case?
my wife gets her period every month now that she’s reduced her carb intake
It's magical isn't it! The bad thing is when I don't have a regular period It's actually more CONVENIENT. Society views periods as not very good at all. So girls grow up thinking missing periods is awesome.
@@lauren8627 I have irregular periods and I enjoy the fact that I don’t have cramps but I know in the long run it’s not healthy. I know my body should be menstruating. But currently saving money on pads is nice. I try to look on the bright side…
@@lauren8627 the bad thing is the fluid goes all over your body. It sucks
@@sz.994 Oh yeah I fight with this thought daily. I love not having a period for 4 months. But trying to get pregnant with #2 is difficult with no concept of ovulation 😂. Period undies are amazing.
Hey Dr.Berry ive been following your channel, watched all your videos, and im trying to educate myself at maximum level against many doctors and pharmaceutical companies. Can you make a video of how ordinary folks like us to obtain legitimate researches for us to study? You are like the only doctor that provides researches for our own judgements.
pubmed.gov lists every study you could ever need. Just type in the keyword you are searching for
Thank you doctor........may Allah ease your difficulties in this world and make you able to help more for others ❤
Thank you so much Doctor!!! I really appreciate you making this video!!!!
This is great information for PCOS, women. A little to late for me @ 70, but I am doing a low carb diet.
I just got diagnosed with PCOS and they told me my child will come out with autism. They said there is no cure and I am crying because I really want a baby. I fell to my knees when I heard the news. I felt like my life was destroyed. At this time, I am trying to find answers...any encouragement from others would be really appreciative.
When I started “treatment” 13 years ago with my endocrinologist; he said I was a VERY rare case...
No acne
Not full of hair
And he said that I should weigh 300 lbs. 🤦🏽♀️
NOW I’m on keto; BEST treatment👏🏽
Great video I wish I would have known this 21 yrs ago that's when I was diagnosed
I wish I had this information 20 years ago. I have so many scars from PCOS that I had infertility issues, and was never able to conceive.
Me too, only it has been 35 years.
What scars are you taking about?
@@mimilou7938 Cyst can cause scar tissue on the ovaries so that even after the cyst is healed, the egg cannot pass because of the scar tissue. The texture of a healthy ovary is porous, but mine are smooth because of so much scarring. Years ago I had surgery on my ovaries where the doctor burned holes into the surface so the eggs could pass through. The surgery procedure went so well for that a university asked my permission to use the video of my surgery for teaching the technique in their medical classes. Unfortunately it did nothing to help my situation, but I understand the technique is usually very successful.
@@wildcat9244 I am so sorry. I wish I could turn back time and do so many things differently. The main thing is that I wish we had accomplished is to adopt. Then our only daughter would have a sibling or siblings who could have been a blessing to her. Time passes by so quickly and now we are 57 and 60 years old, far too old to adopt.
@@juneebennett22 we are about the same age. The good thing is that if your daughter or her children should happen to have ovarian cyst, medical science knows more about it now. Try to find the positive. Also, have you considered adopting or fostering an older child? Just a thought.
You have made my life so much better. I can not thank you enough! Thank you.
❤
He is such a comfort doctor.
I was always wondering what PCOS was. Now I know it’s a huge problem! Thank you for this video.
You're the best medical communicator....appreciate all your work....I'm leanring new info every time I watch your videos!
Thank you Dr. Berry! Just in time. I've been dealing with these symptoms. Now I have the solution!
