I did my CBT last Friday and I just wanted to come back and say thank you for posting these videos I found it so helpful to let me know what to expect! Your videos are fantastic, I still enjoy watching them after the fact, Its great reminding me of the day, was great fun, to anyone else going into the CBT it's good fun and relatively easy hoping you have a great instructor like these guys or like I did, they're there to train and help so just relax and open your ears to their wisdom, and of course good luck!
This video brings back memories. When I did my CBT many years ago my instructor had to keep shouting at me to turn my indicator off. 8 years later and I never forgot again 😂
Ahhhhh i remember when i took my cbt, i think its kinda cool to have a look at the instructors point of view, gives you an insight to just how observant they are, focusing on both riders, and his own machine and riding at the same time amazing.
Done my CBT on Monday and yes indicators off was a popular sound in my ears too lol 😆 Been out everyday and only left it on once so it's sinking in. I Mist say my instructor was great with instructions, he repeated them 3 times and it was crystal clear. Numbering exits so it was virtually impossible to go the wrong way . These videos have been a real help in helping know what to expect. Looking forward to many years of motorbiking 😊
Great instruction. It's pretty amazing how, at the start, you're able to keep an eye on the trainee in front AND behind you AND the usual hazards and observations necessary to ride your own machine. I can barely manage the latter. :p Going to be doing my CBT on Monday (30 years old and never ridden/driven a motorised vehicle before, bit nervous so I'm drinking all these vids up to calm me down :p!). I met my instructor today briefly when I booked myself in, and he seems a nice chap. So here's hoping...
+GwresYnKernow Great news, I'm glad you like the video's. For me getting the balance of looking after my trainees and myself has taken years of experience, and I'm still learning!! I only started riding in 1972 ;-) There is a great video on our playlist explaining controls, moving off etc......(might be good for you to watch if your completing your CBT on a geared bike) Keep us posted as to how you go on ;-)

Passed my CBT, after watching many vids on youtube as well as this vid. Talking about signals, I had issues with them too :) lol Just the way they work, I was trying to switch them off but kept putting the other one on! Though I feel I had better control of the bike than Karim did! Maybe because I was on an 125cc, not a moped! Great vid, helped me a lot! Thanks
This is a good circuit. Gives chance to work the gears up and down. I did mine in a heavily congested Southport centre where I queued and rarely got out of 2nd! Was surrounded by cars and trucks, nightmare.
That was helpful. Instructor made them feel really comfortable with clear instructions. Look forwards to doing mine now. See if I enjoy being on 2 wheels as much as I like driving

albi- when I first did mine they had a repsol coloured Honda 50cc ped, I’m going to re take it today as i has to go back again as the thought I required another day, I struggled with roundabouts and hopefully I won’t have that today
Good luck! Just remember dont pull out unless youre 100% comfortable with it, they would rather you wait a bit than just pulling out unsafely because you think you are taking too long, and take your time, use your indicators correctly when exiting the roundabout and youll be fine!

I think Karims gonna be in British superbikes next year. Wow hes now my favourite rider. Move over Marquez. Can just see Karim coming round the inside of the doctor.......with his FKING indicator on. Legend. Think he needed translation not instruction. Give him some kind of indication where hes going wrong.... indication haha
Great video, thank you! I got my CBT done last week and passed my theory yesterday! Now for the direct access course (joys of being old xD). Do you have any advice for how to ride bigger bikes than 125cc? Im really nervous about them being too fast
RJH Motorbike Training St Helens. I managed to pass with two minors - avoidance test and emergency stop. Examiner said I took a little bit too long to bring the bike to a stop during the emergency stop, but it was just about accepted. I think he gave me the benefit of the doubt because he told me during the emergency stop, he takes into consideration the types of brakes used on the motorbike and the surface. It had been pouring down the night before and in the morning. Time to focus on Mod 2 now!
I'm hoping to do my CBT very soon, what size group do the training centres take out? as ive seen some centres take only one rider out at a time and obviously you took two out in this video.
Its just like riding a bike! :) No but seriously, its quite a big learning curve especially if you havent drove a car or any other vehicle beforehand. Most people complete the training within the few hours though and dont have to go back again for extra training, starting from scratch, its a lot of information to pick up but you get used to it pretty quickly
JaydenPlaysGuitar yes if you have a valid license and you’ve obviously done cbt depending on bike size and obviously you need to be insured, so in short yes
Innovative Solutions if your a blind cyclist you shouldent be cycling in a bike lane, sorry if this sounds offensive but there should be places blind people can go to bike
+Dave Red If you are completing your CBT on an automatic this is not such an issue. However if your completing a CBT on a manual you will need to develop this right foot staying up. That said you might find it more natural, as the right foot will be using the rear brake when stopping!
+Wkd Ben No problem at all. Important thing is to enjoy the experience and listen to your Instructor. We all learn in different ways, and take different times to do so, don't pressure yourself too much, just go with it. Keep us posted, glad you like the video's.
+RJH Motorbike Training Thanks! After watching a few more of your videos I feel more confident now and am quite excited while a tad nervous at the same time, I'll be sure to update on Saturday:')
+RJH Motorbike Training Hello again! Im glad to inform you that I passed my CBT. For anyone else doing there CBT Id just like to say I made many mistakes but towards the end you get the hang of it for sure! I also found out that bikes are considerably heavy and even dropped one once... although it wasn't too bad! other than that it was great! I wish the instructor was as good as you tho
+Wkd Ben Ah thanks for that, Im glad you acheived your CBT and that our video's helped. Now enjoy your bike, do you have one? Keep likeing our videos fella.
I'm doing my CBT in half a month and I'm slightly concerned about the amount of time I'll spend on the road as it will be my first time properly riding. I have ADHD so it's harder for me to concentrate for longer periods of time so would the instructor be able to give us a break half way through so I could re-focus?
RJH Motorbike Training will do. if I wanted to use my own bike as well, can I just go to the CBT with it and what would they need to show it was good to use?
The CBT is aimed at all levels. A lot can depend on Manual/gears, your road experience ie (car driver) your ability to pick up new skills etc....... It can be challenging off road and then 2 hours on the road. That said, approach it with the objective to learn, be prepared to put the time in (sometimes it can take longer than a day) and you will be fine. Listen to your Instructor, enjoy the day. Keep us posted as to your progress.
+RJH Motorbike Training suggestions for a good 125 motorbike, that's good on road and can cruise through a field. I've been looking at both the yamaha dt125r and the yamaha xt125.
I did my first CBT in feb '16 never ridden a bike before but have 10+ years experience on the road in a car, The instructor was understanding and put me at ease, To be honest its fun and none stressful I met another guy doing his CBT when I was and now we are good mates and take out monthly ride outs sometimes we talk the instructor into coming to bike shows and things haha.
Shame i am here in Brighton im doing my cbt soon i bought the yamaha r 125 and just hope i don't fail the cbt as i have never ridden a bike before i wish i could get a patient instructor, also i am abit short i am 5.6 do you think the yamaha r125 is too big for me thanks in advance
+Ibrahim Hattab Its a nice bike thats for sure. Have you sat on it? There are lower 125's around so possibly could of found one lower. Listen to your Instructors and I'm sure you will be fine. Let us know how you get on.
No i haven't, its really the only 125 that i want to get i plan on getting an r1 when i get my full license so i thought since its a similar size and style of bike it would be good to practice on i heard you can get lowering kits i might ask them to add it before delivery thank you for replying
+Ibrahim Hattab I would certainly advise going and sitting on it 1st before you decide on it. Its so easy to go for something by its looks, but in reality it might not be practical for your use. I'm not saying that would be the case, but before deciding always go and have a sit on one.
It does make sense however the showroom is very far from where i live, delivery alone is costing 250 quid, i might go to a local Yamaha dealership and try to sit on one but i don't know if they would let me knowing i am not buying it from them.
+Ibrahim Hattab Of course they wouldn't mind......................You are a future customer, servicing, etc............... I would highly recommend going in and sitting on one 1st. But of course thats your decision. Either way keep us posted as to your progress.
You're an excellent instructor, no doubt... but I was a touch disappointed with the camera angle, as it appears to be pointing more to your nearside mirror than the two trainees...not a criticism, an observation ( no pun intended)!Thank you for all the vids you have posted they are great 'refresher' tools for all aspects of first class motorcycle riding.
+Conrad Mason This was with my 1st camera a GoPro, quality fantastic but yes i struggled to get the angle correct as it was not versatile. I now use Drift, and they are much better. I have since used bike mounted, and helmet mounted, and I am now happy with the angle.
I look forward to further excellent instructional vids...they really are top notch. Hope Karims' cracked the indicator issue by now in fairness it is an aspect of biking I also found tough initially...I'm dreading doing the unthinkable during my Mod 2!!Instant no pass I'm told.
+Conrad Mason If your Examiner tells you to turn off your Indicator it could be a serious/dangerous fault, and as you know the outcome would not be what you want. A little TIP for you.........................1) New road 2) Command Position 3) Check Mirrors 4) Cancel Indicators.............Use this after every junction or roundabout etc......
That's really good of you and I'll use this from now on it's a great 4 step proceedure, thanks a million, to be honest my mantra, every time I use my indicators, is to tell myself at each manouvre, whatever it might be left, right, roundabouts, you know whichever as soon as the manouvre is complete is, indicator off. It works 99.9% of the time, my instructor hasn't told me to cancel indicators for awhile so perhaps I'm getting there, but as I said, initially I was a nightmare for forgetting to cancel because of the level of concentration on everything else. Can't thank you enough for your advice.
I noticed the 2 riders taking there cbt where on cbf125 bikes. Are they a good bike to start on? I was thinking when i start of getting a cbf125 or a cb125f. Could you recomend which one is best?
+fintan donnelly I bought a CB125F 3 months ago and I personally would not recommend it. As a budget learner bike, it's not very forgiving with its thin/cheap tyres, clunky gearbox and it struggles to hold 60mph. If I had the choice again, I'd get a used YZF-R125 for the same price or a Sinnis Apache for half the price. A few other good mentions, WR125X, GT125R, Reiju RS3, Megelli R125. That being said, I'm selling my CB125F if you're around the Swindon area xP
RJH Motorbike Training It may just be me being picky as it's my first bike but the reviews of it have been mediocre, 3/5 stars. It is a budget bike after all, but if you're on a budget you're better off going second hand or not buying from a big name like Honda.
Guess my instructor at the place I go to for renewing my CBT is naughty then! His words are "im not going to see anything in 2 hours that I wont see in 1 hour" and he usually just takes people out for 1hr or 1h30 maximum.
Hi. Certainly not the motorway thats not allowed. 3 lane roundabouts? That would depend on a couple of things i suppose. What roundabouts are within your CBT Centres area, and your ability/experience. I mean a good Instructor wouldn't take you to situations that you would not be able to manage.
Paul Barnet I know who you are and in memory you didn't pass first time maybe you was taught by an incompetent instructor... I passed first time after being taught by a grade A instructor, enough said.... We teach the correct and safe way.
It’s always surprises me that these instructors, don’t show new riders how to cancel there indicators correctly, they assume people know that you just need to press the button in not to push them into the middle, I feel it’s a natural thing to do, so more focus should be shown to new riders how to do this before going out on the road, as the last thing you need is someone in your ear keep telling you to cancel your signal, when your already dealing with more actions on the public road than usual. It just tells me the basics have not been embedded properly.

@@RJHMotorbikeTraining indeed I will
@@RJHMotorbikeTraining could I have some help please could you message me on instagram I need to ask questions and show some pictures of some helmets you you please
Don't worry I kept leaving my indicators on when I did my CBT. Then went on to get zero minor marks on Mod 1 and 2
Got my CBT next month, never rode a bike before, are the gears and clutch easy to pick up? I’m scared of messing them up from nerves lmao
Lewis Kenyon everyone is different. Listen to your Instructors and enjoy the CBT. Keep us posted.
RJH Motorbike Training thanks a lot
I've got my full license and I've had the odd occasion when I've forgotten to turn my indicator off. Very rarely though. (NO my name isn't Karim)
easily done.
@@RJHMotorbikeTraining Yep, I did it today. It made me think of this, people must have wondered why the idiot on the motorbike was going along laughing his head off.
Got my CBT tomorrow and I am SHITTING myself.
HOW WAS IT
how was it
Ricky mullane great fun. So glad I did it. Sorry for the late reply but didn't receive any notification.
RJH Motorbike Training Manchester Yeah, all good. Really enjoyed it.
@@DifficultFlannel are you riding now?
I think Karims gonna be in British superbikes next year. Wow hes now my favourite rider. Move over Marquez. Can just see Karim coming round the inside of the doctor.......with his FKING indicator on. Legend. Think he needed translation not instruction. Give him some kind of indication where hes going wrong.... indication haha
like it
Great video, thank you! I got my CBT done last week and passed my theory yesterday! Now for the direct access course (joys of being old xD). Do you have any advice for how to ride bigger bikes than 125cc? Im really nervous about them being too fast
Only as fast as you twist the throttle
@@RJHMotorbikeTraining very true but I'm very on co-ordinated but I'm sure I'll learn soon
was karim just not listening to you about his indicators or what? like 4 times and he still didnt turn them off
yep your right
Is there any reason you don’t tell them what number exit they should be taking on the round abouts?
Nope. Sometimes number, sometimes destination and sometimes both.
How much theory dyou need to know before you take the cbt
Mod 1 this Wednesday! WHY AM I WATCHING CBT VIDEOS LOL. You're a really good instructor though!
Thanks. Good luck with your Mod 1. Keep us posted. Where are you taking it?
RJH Motorbike Training St Helens. I managed to pass with two minors - avoidance test and emergency stop. Examiner said I took a little bit too long to bring the bike to a stop during the emergency stop, but it was just about accepted. I think he gave me the benefit of the doubt because he told me during the emergency stop, he takes into consideration the types of brakes used on the motorbike and the surface. It had been pouring down the night before and in the morning.
Time to focus on Mod 2 now!
Good man.
Did he get cbt
I'm hoping to do my CBT very soon, what size group do the training centres take out? as ive seen some centres take only one rider out at a time and obviously you took two out in this video.
+jdjedimaster1 Element E road ride is 2 pupils to 1 instructor maximum
Are you using Intaride radios by any chance?
+andy tucker We use Autocom radios.
I think teacher is very important or polite but I thought he may not smoking 🚬 💯 👍😀
Hope Karim worked on his Road position
But are the instructions that clear on the radio because I've heard they are pretty bad
We use Autocom radios, wired into the bikes and Kenwoods. It doesn't get much better. We do hear of some horror stories.
It looks pretty simple. Is it really easy?
Its just like riding a bike! :)
No but seriously, its quite a big learning curve especially if you havent drove a car or any other vehicle beforehand. Most people complete the training within the few hours though and dont have to go back again for extra training, starting from scratch, its a lot of information to pick up but you get used to it pretty quickly
I think Karim has oclid obsessive compulsive left indicator disorder! Lol
yes
Have got got a centre based in Liverpool
Sorry no. We are only in Manchester
Straight after you’ve finished your CBT test can you insure your moped and ride on the same day?
JaydenPlaysGuitar yes if you have a valid license and you’ve obviously done cbt depending on bike size and obviously you need to be insured, so in short yes
yes
10:30 parking on the bike line.. For me that's a straight fail, because a blind cyclist would crash into your moped bikes.
Innovative Solutions if your a blind cyclist you shouldent be cycling in a bike lane, sorry if this sounds offensive but there should be places blind people can go to bike
@@short52gaming ahah its not offensive mate its common sense 😂😂
I'm doing my CBT shortly, and when I ride my push bike I tend to put my right foot down as I feel unbalanced leaning on my left. Any tips for this?
+Dave Red If you are completing your CBT on an automatic this is not such an issue. However if your completing a CBT on a manual you will need to develop this right foot staying up. That said you might find it more natural, as the right foot will be using the rear brake when stopping!
+RJH Motorbike Training think if I force myself to use it on my push bike I'll develop a habit before long. thanks for the help :)
For crying out loud karim .... 😂😂😂
he is still at it
Ive got my CBT next week in north wales and ive never been on a motorbike before.. will this be a problem?
+Wkd Ben No problem at all. Important thing is to enjoy the experience and listen to your Instructor. We all learn in different ways, and take different times to do so, don't pressure yourself too much, just go with it. Keep us posted, glad you like the video's.
+RJH Motorbike Training Thanks! After watching a few more of your videos I feel more confident now and am quite excited while a tad nervous at the same time, I'll be sure to update on Saturday:')
+Wkd Ben good man. Enjoy
Absolutely. I would suggest letting him know before you do your CBT and he could help you. Let us know how you go on.
RJH Motorbike Training
will do. if I wanted to use my own bike as well, can I just go to the CBT with it and what would they need to show it was good to use?
Yes tell them you want to use it. It will need to be legal. Taxed, Insured and MOT if applicable. LPlates etc....
Thanks. The MOT is the day before my CBT and that's when I'm insuring it for too
what is the cbt like for someone who has never ridden before?
The CBT is aimed at all levels. A lot can depend on Manual/gears, your road experience ie (car driver) your ability to pick up new skills etc.......
It can be challenging off road and then 2 hours on the road.
That said, approach it with the objective to learn, be prepared to put the time in (sometimes it can take longer than a day) and you will be fine. Listen to your Instructor, enjoy the day.
Keep us posted as to your progress.
+RJH Motorbike Training thank you
+RJH Motorbike Training suggestions for a good 125 motorbike, that's good on road and can cruise through a field. I've been looking at both the yamaha dt125r and the yamaha xt125.
Good choice
9:50 BMW i3 :P and look at all that shit lying in the roundabout...
Karim..turn ur indicators off karim...turn your indicators off karim!....karim??? 😄
still flashing away
@@RJHMotorbikeTraining hahahahaha so funny.......guess he was nervous
+fintan donnelly All Honda are good
***** I'm planning on getting it.
+6Twisted Not often we here bad feedback re the Honda's. Sorry to hear your dissapointed in them.
RJH Motorbike Training It may just be me being picky as it's my first bike but the reviews of it have been mediocre, 3/5 stars. It is a budget bike after all, but if you're on a budget you're better off going second hand or not buying from a big name like Honda.
Isn't the ride section 2 hours??
Minimum of 2 hours Element E (road ride) is required
I'm pretty sure the video has just been edited so it is t too long it skips a few times
Yes this video is only 15 minutes long. I wouldn't put a 2 hour video up, i edit it down.
Guess my instructor at the place I go to for renewing my CBT is naughty then! His words are "im not going to see anything in 2 hours that I wont see in 1 hour" and he usually just takes people out for 1hr or 1h30 maximum.
Cancelling the signal has to be the easiest thing to forget on a bike....
Do you go on motorways or 3 lane roundabouts on your cbt?
Hi. Certainly not the motorway thats not allowed. 3 lane roundabouts? That would depend on a couple of things i suppose. What roundabouts are within your CBT Centres area, and your ability/experience.
I mean a good Instructor wouldn't take you to situations that you would not be able to manage.
Thanks for the reply, does the cbt cover me to ride a 125cc or do I have to take my module a1 for that?
CBT allows you to ride a 125cc for 2 years with L-Plates.

Turn your indicator off Karim turn your indicator off Karim turn your indicator off Karim turn your- do you see where I'm going with this?
Mike Litoris “do you see where I’m going with this” Well that would depend which indicator you left on ?
@@RJHMotorbikeTraining 😂😂 oh my GOD
karim!! Calm down.
he did.
It just tells me the basics have not been embedded
properly.
