How long do these cars last when tuned like this? I've been wanting to get an Accord and tune it but I also need it as a daily and would like it to last me a good 200k miles
Honestly it only requires a few things to last besides not abusing it daily. 1. Change your oil every 4k miles 2. Change trans fluid every 30-40k miles 3. 93+ octane required to prevent knock when tuned, especially on the phearable tunes. I think I left the vsa the way phearable had it or I may have made it more aggressive dont remember. However I recently flashed back to stock for a recall and oil change, then put stage 3 back on with no changes in the tune. It has a lot more punch now than the first time I had it on. I wonder if its just all of us didn't get a good flash the first time around?
I had to reload ktuner on my desktop and have no idea what was set before. But pulling up stage 3 now, I should leave advanced vsa unchecked? Also seeing to uncheck early spool?
What do you think you can do with stage 3 tune in a 1/4mile in the draggy? Would love to see a video of that. I know you did it for Ktuner stage 2 and it was impressive 13.4sec 1/4mile.
Hoping for a 12.99 . I will be making that video soon. Was just waiting for the weather to cool down. It's also been pretty humid here so kinda waiting for that cool crisp air
Do you have aftermarket engine mounts? People are saying you should get them with this tune. I don’t plan to but worry about damaging engine or trans with the low end torque apparently. Just ordered the tune.
Im Very close to buying this car. But im in NY and im coming from an xdrive 3 series and it's great in the snow. How does the Accord do in the snow ???
It's all about out the tires the oem Goodyears were ok in the snow. I used to have a 2011 335i x drive i put ultra high-performance all season Michelins and it was amazing in dry wet and cold but not so much in the snow. Tires are more important than the drive system
I own an accord in Ohio and have had it in 2 winters and it does very well especially because you can slow down with down shifting with the paddles so you dont slide as much.
So what you’re telling us to not mess with quick enables keep everything stock in that section such as no advance vsa, normal boost targets, disabled quick spool etc etc
Your asking for more performance knock is kind of a side effect. Try a different gas station not all stations are the same quality. You can try running 1-1.5 gallons of e85 mixed with a full tank of 93 that will eliminate the knock for sure. Here's an article I found that may help/interest you www.onpointdyno.com/knock-knock-detonation-time/
Does this void warranty? I'm not very educated on the subject. I definitely want to push my 2.0 further but I don't want to void my warranty or blow up my engine lol
When you flash your car you take a chance so yes possibly. But these cars have proven to be able to handle these tunes without issue so it was a chance I was willing to take
@CellsTV you need ktuner to tune it. If you have an automatic you may want to stay with a stage 1 tune. I hear the cvt's don't do well with all the added power
There's no issues with this. There's people running well over 350-400whp for years with a type R turbo upgrade/aftermarket turbo upgrade that have plenty of miles. A measly Phearable stage 3 tune on a basically stock vehicle is not going to hurt this car. Just keep quality fuel in the tank like 93oct+ and the engine will be fine.
@@JoseRivera-li8tr I've had many different turbo 4cylinders and some I've built myself. I never skimp on maintenance. This is my daily driver. I have a magnuson 2650 2019 ZL1 with 900whp for the weekends and working on some other projects as well. Just wanted to say that a simple phearable stage 3 tune is not going to hurt this car just as long as you know what you're doing, like not putting 87oct in the tank like the car is stock.
Yep exactly. Just download to your pc open file with the ktuner software, then flash pretty straightforward. Detailed instructions come included in the email
Thanks for the great video Dan. I am looking at purchasing the K2 from Phearable and getting the stage 3. What was the issue with the VSA? Sorry new to this Honda Platform. Any help would be appreciated.
What’s happening Dan, quick question. How can you tell if you’re running the tune? Is there anywhere within ktuner that tells you you’re running stage 3?
Step on the gas pedal...lol . No there isn't something that actually says it. As long as you flashed that file your good to go. Check how much boost your making, thay will let you know for sure
You can only flash one tune at a time you can save your tune files to the 5 or 6 blocks allotted for quick reflashes. Ktune will come with stage 1 and 2. You can then make some changes if you like then save or write the file to your ecu. Same goes for adding the stage 3 file
Hey Dan. I have been running K-Tuner stage 2 for about a year. I am about to get the stage 3. I have just a quick question. I know you said run the tune as it comes because some things are locked out. On the stage 3 quick adjustments where are you running your "Throttle sensitivity" "Turbo response" and "Boost target ramp rate" I think you can still change those on the stage 3. If you can did you change them or just run it as it came? Thanks so much for all your videos......
I don't recall there being that many quick adjustments. But I didn't touch any of them, left it 100% as it came. Like anything else play with it and see what suits you best. The way it comes is very linear and you dont get that all of a sudden boost spike
@@DanVilla7 Would you mind taking a look at a few settings. I just want to know what the settings are for "Throttle sensitivity" "Turbo response" "Boost target ramp" And if they have early spool turned on or off. Thank you...
You can just start out with this but I would recommend some bolt ons like a downpipe front pipe to go along with it. If your in a hot climate an intercooler is going to be a big help. I have links in the description for what you need.
I wish... like all of these oem small turbos that spool fast taper off up top. It does hold a good 22+psi and feels to keep making power even though theres less boost up top
another great and informative video. thank you kindly, d! i just flashed to stage 2, and i did purchase the stage 3 tune, but am holding off till i get a few bolt ons to do so. quick question concerning knock. do you know what would be an ideal range, and if you know what would be the number for concern?
since you're in NY, what do you do when its time to get your inspection? Do you revert back to stock tune so oyu pass or will it pass with the phearable tune flashed?
There are claims that they can't detect but I can't confirm if thats true or not. Also depends on your claim if they will even check in the first place
I work at that the dealer for Honda and we can’t really tell but Honda does make us send the software to them and they can check it them selfs and let’s us know if it was tune or not also we can tell by if the miles don’t match up to the pcm
I have heard bad things about early spool and with this tune it is enabled by default. How long have you been running the tune and have you encountered any issues. Thanks
When it comes to phearable stage 3 you don’t have to go to a dyno right? You’ll just purchase the tune with your ktuner v1.2 or v2 and download it? And if that’s the case it should be cheaper then stage 2 cause you aren’t using their dyno? (I ask because I want to see which route I’ll go with for my car)
You need to purchase a ktuner then add the phearable stage 3 file to it. Wheb you get a ktuner its preloaded with stage 1 and 2 and have the ability to make some changes to each. Using an ots flash has nothing to do with dyno testing. You can do that on your own to get power figures or if you go to a tuner for a custom tune
i have a 2022 accord 2.0t sport. Should i be worried about blowing my transmission if its welded? Also should i be worrying about head gaskets blowing?
I'm just curious if that tune is harmful to the Accord gearbox. Should I have to replace any parts in the car after this tune? Actually, I'm new for this. Please let me know. Thanks
Adding more power can always contribute to premature failure but proper maintenance and care will always help. I would say at least and downpipe and eventually an intercooler would help
Yo Dan, I've got the 1.5L Manual, thinking about doing this - currently running Stage 2 with Econ-mode off and factory settings when Econ-mode is on. I've read here and there that for Stage 3 you must have after-market engine mounts installed, do you agree? What else should be installed etc. when running stage 3?
I would agree more so with a manual transmission because there is less give in the drive train. With an auto the tq converter will absorb some abuse. I personally run the oem 6mt upper tq mount on mine.
Thanks I appreciate it! I'm using 1.5 gallons of e85. I wouldn't bother running e30 without a proper tune it probably wouldn't yield any extra power. They do have a stage 4 tune that is made for e32
Thank you for this video! I’m running Advanced VSA - Most Aggressive with KTuner Stage 2. No issues with that combination right? Only issue is Advanced VSA with Stage 3, right?

I just installed this tune and it’s great. My k con goes up whenever I drive the car hard though. Did a 60 to 120 pull and it read .91. Have you had the same experience?
That's getting high. Not all 93 octane is created equal. Try a different gas station and test your results or you can always add 1.5 gallons of e85 to a full tank of premium fuel

For me it was aggressive advanced vsa pulling power. John from phearable checked my logs to confirm that was my issue.
I had to reload ktuner on my desktop and have no idea what was set before. But pulling up stage 3 now, I should leave advanced vsa unchecked? Also seeing to uncheck early spool?
Yeah don't adjust it and its money

Can tune up a T2.0 to get better gas mileage?
Yes leave advanced vsa stock, but mostly all of those other options aren't available anyway.
What do you need for this stage 3 tune
Can I make it so I can run 87 octane?
Why do I get really bad knocks when I’m flashed with this stage 3? Stage 2 ktuner was running fine?
Your asking for more performance knock is kind of a side effect. Try a different gas station not all stations are the same quality. You can try running 1-1.5 gallons of e85 mixed with a full tank of 93 that will eliminate the knock for sure. Here's an article I found that may help/interest you

@CellsTV you need ktuner to tune it. If you have an automatic you may want to stay with a stage 1 tune. I hear the cvt's don't do well with all the added power

So far they have proven to be very reliable. My car as well haven't had any issues with it.

Do you have to install the tunes in order? (Stage 1, then 2, then 3)
You can only flash one tune at a time you can save your tune files to the 5 or 6 blocks allotted for quick reflashes. Ktune will come with stage 1 and 2. You can then make some changes if you like then save or write the file to your ecu. Same goes for adding the stage 3 file
Thank you!
What upgrades do you need for this tune
I’m asking the same exact question

Just plug into your ecu with one of these
