  • We evaluate our KTUNER K.con values (knock) taken from our performance tests on our 2019 Honda Accord 2.0 project car under various driving scenarios, including; street driving, 0-60mph runs, DYNO pulls, and 1/4 mile track tests, to see how the knock / K.control values compare when running the Phearable Stage 3 ECU Tune - the 93 octane tune running on 91 octane gas, then supplementing the tune with E85 flex fuel, and finally running the Phearable Stage 3 91 octane ECU tune with 91 octane fuel. The modified 10th Gen Honda Accord we're using contains some simple FBO bolt-on mods such as the PRL HVI (air intake), the Mishimoto Intercooler (or PRL intercooler), and the PRL HV Downpipe, along with the Phearable tune, of course! If you're looking to modify your Honda Accord 2.0 or 1.5 and looking for performance parts recommendations, install how-tos, and DYNO tests of performance parts, then SUBSCRIBE today! We'll routinely dyno test our 2019 Honda Accord 2.0 Touring as we continue with our (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022) Honda Accord modification journey - next up, a custom ECU tune, PRL Flex Fuel Kit, lightweight rims and sticky tires, you can help decide...

Hi Chad great analyst of the k.con number base on fuel ans situation. I think it might be good to also do what you did with the stock tune. Run 91 gas on stock tune and monitor the k.con on each of the 4 situations you presented (norm, spirited, 0-60, & 1/4) and analyze to find delta between stock 91 and stage 3(93) tune 91 gas, stage 3(93) tune 91E gas and stage 3(91) tune 91 gas. You have most of this data if not all.
BTW can't wait for the wheel reveal video, I'm sure it gonna look awesome 😎

Also found the best way to bring Knock Control down is to cruise at the highest gear (10th) and feather the throttle to make like 0.1 psi of boost, and those values will start to come down.

I'd like to see if "TORCO F500010T Unleaded Fuel Accelerator" would help with your k.con on the drag strip. (Probably too costly to use on a daily basis). I use it to bump 93 octane up to 97 in my 1990 Mustang 5.0 with a NON-intercooled supercharger running at 9 to 10 psi on a custom tune. I add 16 ounces to 10 gallons of 93. Torco says that ratio adds 4 points to the octane.

    Chad,
What Ktuner quick adjustment and quick enables do you have set at?
Asking because my Kcon seems to jump around a lot on stage 2 with quick spool enabled and all the quick adjustments set to max. It always goes back down to .49 after feathering the throttle on the highway but it’s rather annoying watching it rise by .05-.1 after every wot pull with minimal to zero knock events being recorded

I had a phearable stage 3 and 4 before my Type R Turbo (I'm close to sea level 300ish feet above), and found my Knock Control on 93 with Stage 3, never really crept above .6 unless I have really poor gas. Stage 4 with E35 mix, the highest I saw was .85 doing some roll racing due to REALLY and I mean REALLY bad 93. Added in some Shell 93 and a bit more Ethanol and never creeped above .6ish either
On Type R custom tune, I rarely see it go above .55 nowadays.
OTS tune definitely has a bit of safety built in, once you go custom for your application, it tends to stay pretty low in my experience.

Is a knock count of 25 bad? Knock control at idle is .45

Knock count can be anything from my understanding om the ktuner platform watch your kcon

KCon rises to stop knocking. Your car is protecting itself by the knock control rising. If it stays there I would be concerned.

If you want to see high K.Con, run 87 with the factory tune at 90mph.

It will make you feel better about the other tunes. I saw mid 80s. Switched back to KTuner stage two with premium, I was back at 53 max. 87 and 93 from the same gas station. Makes me think the engine was designed for premium.
