Whether you like it or not, CFMOTO and Royal Enfield will dominate the market in the coming years. Which is no bad thing, as it will make the other manufacturers provide more for less!
I agree. They've definitely got the Rebel and Eliminator in their sights, and I much prefer the looks of this. Both the Honda and Kawasaki have the tanks perched on top of the frame rails, which I'm not a fan of - I think the traditional arrangement where the tank straddles the frame looks better. Also, the Japanese engines look very nondescript while the CFMoto has some very nice detail touches like the polished faux cooling fins and silver accents on the crankcase covers.
When I started riding in the USA the only options for beginner bikes were gutless single cylinder bikes that sounded crap and heavy parallel twins that sounded crap. The only way to get a cool sounding entry level bike was to pay an arm for an ancient and rare 4 cylinder Japanese bike like the CB350four. CFmoto must have hired some great minds because they are literally building bikes that I used to dream of as a teenager. What more can you ask from a brand?
In China they sell a single seat bobber version with the mudguard attached directly to the swinging arm; it looks like a mini version of the Triumph bobber; very nice. I hope they import the model here.
Good review of a very capable machine. I don't know if CFMoto have an in-house design team, but they seem to be turning out some very handsome machines recently. They will definitely be taking sales from the more established brands.
In Mexico the bobber versión is arriving. The rajke, and controls position are different for a more sport riding, which I prefer Only the lean angle is an interrogación with the bobber. A top ranking bike in my list for sure.
Glad you've had the opportunity to test this model, I think it looks and performs great, even the sound, which I'm not usually all that bothered about. Definitely looks like you get that small bike ride it fast feeling. I like that colour scheme, has retro appeal. Wondered if you'd comment on the BMW thing 😂 Pity about the rain, that little church you film at and pass regularly , would've been a good backdrop for this bike. Maybe another time. Wasn't a fan of that opening shot lense, your usual one does the job to be honest, just my opinion.
Newly subscribed, since after watching a few of your reviews I find your approach to moto reviews genuine and refreshing. No doubt the little wrinkles, such as the muffled helmet mic, will become smoother with practice in future episodes. Even here, the mic issue improved toward the end. I look forward to more of your content down the road.👍😎
That's a kind comment thank you. I mistakenly put the mic up by the forehead area in the helmet instead of the usually place by my nose. Sounds silly but I did it in a rush and as you heard it did have an impact on audio quality. The last segment the mic was back in it's usual place. Thanks 👍
The usual questions comes to mind: reliability, dealer support and spares. CF Moto seem to be knocking it out of the park at this price point. My Fantic has a Chinese manufactured engine and it hasn’t been an issue at all, great fun.
Sorry mate, may I ask how much vibration comes from the engine of your Fantic around 60 mph? I also had a Chinese made (Shineray) Italian scrambler, SWM SixDays, the previous model with the 5 gear gearbox. (Off topic, but even that was a reliable bike, so don't think that CFMoto would be any worse.) The vibration on the three points; footpegs, seat, handlebar, became quite uncomfortable on my SixDays over 4000 RPM wich means right from 50miles/h. Is it so dramatic on yours?
@@david.beckenham There’s some, not bad though, above 65 it can start becoming intrusive, but I suppose it’s down to tolerance levels. I’ve ridden for several long hours on mine, but mostly back roads where we do around 120 miles per day and it doesn’t get annoying for me.
I like the look of it. Sounds great and had a decent spec list. The red and silver look great. Im almost tempted when I upgrade but my heart is set on a RE. It is a great bike for 5.5K.
I just found your channel and I like the down to earth style and the fact you don't just review exotic bikes. But can I ask why do you constantly check if the indicators have been cancelled, I do it myself sometimes and wondered if its a nerves thing ?
Hi Anthony, thanks for the comment. I appreciate the support. I just do it out of habit but I'm not sure why, I think I'm paranoid about a car pulling out from a junction so I just keep cancelling them!
Thanks for the video…I’d like to see a more comprehensive review if you’re able to…I really like the looks and sound of this…it’s appealing to me, very neat😀
Hello! In every other review I slow the bike down and do a jerk throttle test, sadly on this one it was too busy/wet from memory. So you'll have to ride the bike on a demo to check. Sorry about that. Cheers, Sean
Hi Sean, great to meet you today at Midwest Moto, its Paul with the Chrome Interceptor from Worcester, I am looking at buying one of those Ghost 4K cameras, are they any good?, When you do ride out review I could film from another angle, just a thought. keep up the good work.
Hi Paul, lovely to meet you too! Nice to see your lovely Chrome Inty as well. I haven't seen a Ghost camera up close so I can't comment. I'm using the Gopro hero 7 (very old but still good enough) for mine. Thanks for the support and the offer of filming, that would be interesting! Hope to see you out and about in Worcester, I'll keep an eye out for your bike! Cheers, Sean
@@MindfulMotorcyclist Hi Sean, Thanks for compliments regarding my chrome machine, probably bump into each other at Midwest again, I am retired now so do try to take advantage of the sun when it is out. Just thought I could record how a bike looks when in motion, posture etc. Be safe, Paul
just wondering, i know in Europe, you drive on the left side, but i noticed the arrows are following the right side (forward arrows on the right).. why is that?
The white arrows are informing you to stay on the left side of the road . They precede a solid white line in the centre of the road which means you cannot overtake or cross the solid line. Usually where you have restricted vision of road ahead.( bends, or dips in the road, etc) Please don't try riding on the left side of the road in mainland Europe. I woke up in France one day on a trip from the UK and blissfully set off on the left, down some country roads. EEK! 😂😂
This looks to be a very nice motorbike. I think that even we in these United States of America are going to get this model. We do have the racier version of the 450 Twiin already. Not my cup o' tea but nice enough for other folks I am certain! Thank you. SS in commiefornia, USA.

Prefer the clc to the Honda rebel 500 or Kawasaki eliminator, it’s a good looking bike. Good and informative video as usual.

270 crank sounds 1000 times better than the 180 crank.

I agree Luddite, CF are on a roll at the moment.
Tossed up between this and a RE Hunter 350 , got a black one of these , love it !
Sounds and looks great 👍

Another great video thanks Sean. Although it has more power I think for me I would prefer a RE Meteor 350. Hope to see more from you and Suzie soon.
Thanks William! Appreciate the comment. Suzie and I actually went to a Harley Davidson demo day on Sunday! We rode some BIG cruisers!
Did you notice the mud stripe up the length of the radiator? Needs at least an extender or preferably a better designed and longer front mudguard.
Yes agree def style over substance with the front guard...
Great sound to this bike, seems overall a sweet ride, I'm still looking at the Zontes GK350 though but this one is growing on me.
I hate to say it but I think CF and Voge are pulling ahead of Zontes now in the 300-450cc bracket...

Not a manufacturer specific place but you can buy aftermarket helmet locks that clamp to bars etc

do you think that this machine is better than benda chinchinella 500?
How does this compare against the RE Meteor 350 to ride? 🤔
Bare in mind the RE is £1,500 cheaper & a more retro looking bike.
This has double the power, twin but with character as 270°. Neither is better but they are chalk and cheese

That is true cruisers are not bikes for rough roads...
