The sad thing is: I know a nurse who has a colleague who actually says to an elderly person "Well, did we do poo-poo"? or something like that. The person to whom she said this was old, but mentally still quite fit. The fact that the nurse talked to her in such a condescending and childish way wore her down.

@@Marquis-Sade if its in the context of them being close id say its okay. when your close enough to someone, you both can make fun of any aspect of each other, knowing the other isn't trying to cause harm but just harmless humor.
on the other hand, this wasnt a genuinley close and friendly relationship, or at least didnt seem that way. in a situation like that its completely dehumanizing, because heres the thing, yes you do talk to human children that way, but the only adult you would speak to like that would be an adult pet, ie a mature dog or cat or whatever.
to speak to someone with verabge of that tone and level is to liken someone to a "dumb" animal.
(i say dumb, because as a biologist i believe many animals are greatly intelligent, and just unable to express their level of intelligence due to the fact that they are physically limited in their capabilities by their own bodies. a great example as whales, second smartest on the planet to humans. but unable to express such intelligence when limited by primitive vocal systems and short stubby limbs only useful for swimming.)

Perfect example of a necessity turning into a custom.
Take parsimony, which is in itself, at least historically, a pure necessity if you don't have enough money to buy anything that's not absolutely necessary.
Over time people reframed this bad thing that you had to do as something respectable, then virtuous and once that virtue seeped into the consciousness of the broad public and was no longer bases on a necessity (so even people who had enough to buy what they need start penny pinching) it turned into a custom or a convention that you are now EXPECTED to perform.
      In some countries, at least.
And it's very convenient for the employer, so they'll do their best to encourage that process, where they don't outright manufacture it.

1:00:30 Relating to the ending, before Sachi's death there is a monk near the apartment building. He's standing in the dark and says to Naomi "You have a really good soul". The names on the collectible cards also mentioned in the credit roll so it's probably patreon or support partners..

About runner's high, it tends to happen after a period of prolonged, moderately intense exercise, track is probably too intense and too short to get a "high". This is anecdotal but I usually don't feel anything until 3 miles into a run, and I didn't start to feel anything until I got accustomed to longer distances and figured out my comfortable pace. Oh and you can get runner's high from other aerobic exercise, like swimming and biking.

Rather than telling you to just escape or hide they should force you to juke the enemy around while trying to do stuff spread throughout the map.

While I think this story does what it's trying to do just fine, it got me thinking... I bet someone could tell a really scary story with a more realistic take on some of the ideas here. Like somebody who relies on a caretaker, but then some person or being messes with them whenever they're alone. Like even if that person was just moving them around or something, it would be really scary to have your autonomy taken away like that, especially if you couldn't really communicate what was going on. Scary for the caretaker too, once they realize it's happening, to know that someone who relies on them is going through that, and to not know how long it's been happening or who is responsible.
