I wasn't expecting anything too good? for some reason? But this ended up being really cool, I like the style - and ofc creepy convenience stores at night are a nice horror idea lol
As an overnight cashier, who does all transactions through a safety window, I have to 'fetch' the stuff they ask for. But thankfully, our management backs us up, and allows us to refuse service to belligerent customers. So that guy would have been told to GTFO.
I just had a conversation today with one of my employees about how those signs are called aisle violators! I got a little too excited about you talking about retail signage for a minute there lol.
There were definetly elements that I liked about the game, especially that grandmother... Damn... Since the setup is you being alone at a convenience store in charge of everything from handling customers to CCTV, I think the game would have been more succesful if they focused on real life fears associated with that setup instead of (another) spooky scary ghosts boom jumpscares...
as someone currently in retail level advertising, I found it both hilarious (and painful) to be getting a surprise lesson this video :D always a treat to watch!

I don't really watch many gaming channels but yours I find very refreshing because you play the game like an average person and not like a pandering banshee. I also really enjoy how you call out your critics and their nitpicking :p Thanks for the enjoyable content, it's a real stress reliever and lets me experience games I'd otherwise never see or play.
This scares me more than it should. I had a lot of experience working alone at night along with walking home by myself for three to four hours after midnight every week. I was always afraid something or someone would get me and I definitely met some extreme weirdos. The feeling of helplessness can't be understated when you're put in a position like that. The worst part was walking through areas with no street lights and no moonlight to brighten anything up. It's easy to not let a videogame be too scary for some because in the back of their minds they can always tell themselves "this is fake", but when you actually have to go through it it's different. Luckily, no demons or ghost children came after me lol. As far as I know.

John talking about danglers and wobblers.
Me: READ THE NOTE IN THE OFFICE!!! Lol
Love when John talks interior decorating, advertising, and fonts...and now, “aisle violators.”
I wasn't expecting anything too good? for some reason? But this ended up being really cool, I like the style - and ofc creepy convenience stores at night are a nice horror idea lol
Can't wait to impress everyone with my knowledge of inlines and end-caps
As an overnight cashier, who does all transactions through a safety window, I have to 'fetch' the stuff they ask for. But thankfully, our management backs us up, and allows us to refuse service to belligerent customers. So that guy would have been told to GTFO.
I just had a conversation today with one of my employees about how those signs are called aisle violators! I got a little too excited about you talking about retail signage for a minute there lol.
John: *Accidentally opens door walking past*
Also John: WHAT!? D
John's Elementary School teacher at story time: "Once Upon A Time😊"
Young John: *NO* *ONE* *WANTS* *TO* *HEAR* *ABOUT* *YOUR* *LIFE* *STORY*
I like how at 12:08 John says "I have actual tasks to do?" Like, "I have to work at my job?" lmao
One of the only guys to play this game more than 30 minutes. Gotta love John
Omg I'm actually early this time! Excited to see you play this!
EDIT: Also I think at 30:50 they're actually "steamed buns/Chinese steamed buns". They're pretty popular in Southeast Asian countries I'm sure.
Yeah, they're quite popular here.. but we don't usually have warm ones in convenience stores like Japan does...
@@quadreye Oh where are you from? We have warm ones here in Malaysia in gas station convenience stores.
@@highpriestessariela Indonesia! I see, how nice.. Maybe some convenience stores have it.. Ones near me don't.. but they're still easy to find.
@@quadreye I see, that's interesting. Thanks for sharing with me!
@@highpriestessariela Thank you for the cool info too!
42:16 I love the way John says "Okay!" here LOL!
“He got in on the passenger side!”
They do that in japan, John. That’s the side the wheel and everything else is on hehe
"I'm just gonna stay here, ¿this is waht you do at the convinience store, right?
Me," working" in the empty convinience store while i watch youtube videos:
Yeah, pretty much.
"Wait I'm not ready! How do I work?!"
John finally appealing to us Millennials.
??
@@Jenrob0511 I take it you're not a Millennial?
10:08 ~ Yeah.... cars in Japan are Right-hand drive. He didn't get into the passenger's side. That's their driver's side.
I love the PS1 retro aesthetic these games go for, it just makes them creepier.
Came for the creepy game, learned about advertising terms 10/10
