They are very conscience here of the trash problem and with so many people coming to the beach, very little trash is left behind...Thank you God!...and watching these videos makes me want to fly out to
the Florida coast and go shelling, too...love the info I get about the areas and shells and thanx for letting me tag along on yet one more adventure!!!....in 4k, of course!!!

Where are you from, friend? I really appreciate when local/municipal governments are doing the best they can to help mitigate these issues, as well.
Thanks for coming along, in 4K!

I'm with you ... I feel like it's good beach karma to pick up trash while collecting shells. I loved the variety of coral you found. And I really loved your little orange oyster - gorgeous color!

There was a FB group with many shellers, and we all agreed to take out trash as we shelled. I was walking my favorite beach (NC)a few weeks ago, and even though I picked up trash for 8 days, I was super happy that added together, didn't even fill a trash bag. We're doing it, one sheller at a time and our beaches so appreciate it. Thank you for another lovely relaxing video. Have a wonderful week.

There are some spots that, for various reasons just collect more litter than others. This spot in Dania was particularly egregious. I agree, that it's so important to give back, and do our part!
      Thanks so much for watching!

Love that beach! We saw a gorgeous sea star there a few years ago. It was huge! We took a picture of it.

Such a shame to see all the trash! Dania Beach used to be our 'weekend' place to chill for the day and drive back to the pine trees at night for a campfire. Haven't been there in years and years. I'm sure its all changed. Glad you found a few nice shells !

So many beautiful shells. Love the Flamingo tongue. The jasper cones are so cute and all the different coral is amazing! So thoughtful of you to help remove trash. Thanks for sharing. Your videos are always greatly appreciated.

I will often pick up trash when I can while out on the beach, but this beach needed a full clean up, lol. Blue shells are definitely hard to find, but you can absolutely find some purple hued ones!
      Thanks so much for watching!

I love those Imperial Venus clams. I spend a week at the beach with my family in Pawley’s Island SC area and began collecting ‘Pawley’s shells’. Finding them is supposed to be lucky. I thought they were eroded cross barred Venus clams for the longest time, but recently found they’re probably worn Imperial avenues. I’d love to find one in good condition, but finding the ‘Pawley’s shell’ (not to mention some nice whelks!) make me happy enough.

I have heard that the Imperial Venus Clams are quite a common find on Pawley's Island in SC. I always tend to find them in SE Florida, and I have found King Venus Clams(a cousin), in the Caribbean. Hope you find some awesome ones soon!
      Thanks for watching!

Great finds!!! I’m going to Juno Beach today and I hope I have as good luck. I went to Boynton Beach inlet last week and couldn’t believe how much trash was on the beach. It seems the further south you go the worse it gets. I guess because those areas are so much more populated. 😢

    • @solaceinshelling6552
      @solaceinshelling6552  ปีที่แล้ว

Ahhhh, I went to Boynton Inlet last year and got skunked with shells, lol. Juno is usually pretty reliable for shells, haha! I have also unfortunately seen a lot of trash in the sargassum in Jupiter and Juno. I think it may be because the Gulf Stream is such a powerful flow of water, and combined with the heavy surf, washes everything up in these areas.
      Thanks for watching!

Thank you for picking up trash, but just be careful ❤! My friend, cut himself by accident, picking some up and ended up with stitches.

    • @solaceinshelling6552

Excellent words of wisdom! One time, I attempted to collect some trash that was entangled in sargassum near Jupiter, and my legs were swarmed by ants - I literally had to jump into the ocean 🤣
      Thanks for watching!
