One of my BEST shelling days, ever - Palm Beach, FL

- Southeast Florida is a unique location because the Gulf Stream Current flows northward right off shore, having an impact on climate and biodiversity in the region. From The Keys north to Palm Beach, this Caribbean originating warm water system aids in providing habitat for a rich and diverse assortment of shell species to the area. Consequently, unique and tropical shell treasures will often be washed onto the beaches in SE Florida!
Put on your sunblock and get your shell bags ready!
WOW WEEEEE you hit the jackpot!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely epic day of shelling! I can't believe how many fantastic goodies you found! I'm going to have to give the West Coast another try for sure. Congrats on all your great finds!
Always love to see your comment(s)! Thanks for watching!
Hey SWF Beach Life, I was watching his video and somehow I knew your were watching too 🤣 He found some great shells, I am jealous LOL
@@DeeDee-dl7sl Me too!!! I would have to control myself from dancing around at finding so many fantastic shells!
@SWF you mean try east coast? I think he needs one of your shelling bags. Who goes shelling, in hopes for an epic day, without a shelling bag?
I prefer the water of the Emerald Coast and shells of Navarre and P'cola esp after a storm. Nice find. I too will have to try the east side.
@@SS-wk7fx Doh! Yes I did mean East Cost! I never hit a beach without my shell bag and my delicates container. I was so wishing I could have been there that day. I would have happily filled my bag with gorgeous shells! 🐚
You are so fun to watch because when I go shelling I feel all the same emotions. I get so excited by my finds, especially when I come across a treasure trove of shells and find something great. Love your scotch bonnets and lion’s claws. Such a simple pleasure. I’ve been doing it since I was 4.
Have fun. Keep shelling, so good for the soul.
I truly appreciate your great feedback, and thank you so much for watching!
You did amazing! What a fantastic assortment of special shells! You hit tthe jackpot! I am an east coast sheller, and days like that happen very, very seldom. I am emailing this video to myself so I can watch it whenever I want. Thanks sooo much.
Thanks so much, for watching!
We go to Sanibel at least once a year, but this year we checked out Navarre Beach Island up by Destin in the panhandle. Lots of different shells that we've never found on Sanibel. Boatloads of Bittersweets, quite a few Scotch Bonnets, Cabrit Murexes, an excellent Queen's Helmet, and an Atlantic Distortio with only a few pinholes in it. The water was too rough to snorkel when we were there, but I understand that shallow snorkeling is a great way to find shells there. Thanks for this great video! Now we have to check out Southeast Florida!
Ahhhh… those deep orange tinted shells keep jumping out at me .. I’d be stoppin n stoopin’ every minuit..Love those colors..!
Just subscribed to your wonderful channel..❤🤗👍
Thank you for watching!
Afraid I would have left the beach and gone to buy a wheeled barrow to collect EVERYTHING!! So many, so beautiful. HUGE sharks eyes, what an amazing place. Stay safe x
Hello, and thank you for watching the content!
Wow...some fantastic shelling! I am on the Northwest panhandle of Florida, but never knew how beautiful the water was in the Palm Beach area! Happy shelling!
Love the Sundial!!!
You need a big shell bag, what great finds, thank you for sharing.
Hey Sandy! A bigger bag is right!
Wonderful day shelling! Need bag carry shells😊❤️ thanks for sharing…
I’m loving this! I really want to go shelling on these beaches someday,
It’s nice to see a man get so much enjoyment out of shelling . Cheers. Nancy & Sterling from Canada
Hey! I’ve watched this video three times over the past couple months because the beach is breathtaking and I can’t believe how many amazing shells you found that day. Loved the sundials, hairy tritons, queen helmets, lion paws, scotch bonnets, gorgeous huge shark eyes (that one that had unusual colors), nutmegs, green stars…just an amazing haul. Wow. Soooo much fun. Your info on the area was fascinating, as well. Thanks so much for sharing these fab videos. 🥰 🐚 Take care.
Hi friend, thank you so much for watching!
I Love, Love shells! Can it get any better than this!?! Beautiful day, beautiful beach, and the Shells...I rewatch your vids many times over; I just can't get enough. 😊❤
Beautiful and unique shells. I have taken up beach shelling as a hobby within the past 2 years. I have been to several beaches on the NE coast of Florida, the SW coast of Florida, the Keys but I need to check out the shelling in the SE coast of Florida this year. Going to Honeymoon Island in April, Keeywadin Island and the Keys and Key West in July. Possibly this fall, I would like to venture down to the SE coast. I love shelling. Some great finds you found. Would love to add some of the unique ones to my collection. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so very much, for watching! 💙
Wow that’s amazing I go to Jupiter dog beach everyday and have a nice small collection but that trip would have doubled it 😮 and look at all those hag stones I feel like you were on the north end of the island gotta hit low tide.
Thank you for pointing out a great misconception about shelling in Florida. The east coast is far richer in shell species and you can find some amazing rarities. The secret is to wait for beach reconstitution projects which occur frequently. Sand is dredged offshore around forty ft from reef pockets and dumped on the shore. I spent countless hours digging through it and found some truly amazing shells, many in nearly gem conditions, in much better shape then shells you find in the surf which have been worn down by tumbling around.
Love your videos
You have an amazing life!
Im going to palm beach next weekend
I can’t wait
I live in central Florida 🐚 and visit honey moon island and pass a grill
I was in Navarre in July and found many bittersweet’s!! Even a few larger ones that had very dark markings 🎉
Awesome!!! You were BLESSED, not lucky!
I would be hiking back to the car to unload, and to start, again! 😂
Congrats!
Watching this for the fifth time , what a haul!!
Oh yeah!!! Thanks for coming along. The experience gets better with every view! 😁
Cool getting to see EC beaches. We did Juno and Jupiter on our last trip. I found mostly bittersweets and a few flat scallops. Was hoping for something more rare. On my 50th bday trip to Florida, last day in Sanibel I found 50 bittersweets…what a gift from the sea. Small pocket of them within about a 1/4 mile. But since then, they’ve been hard to find on Gulf side.
Thanks for watching!
You’re truly blessed! Thanks for taking us along.
Thank you so very much for coming along on the adventure - hope to see you on the next one too!
I have watched this video so many times. I love it because I was snowbird in Palm Beach for 16 years. You picked the Perfect day! I have come close, but never found so many species in one day. I am so happy to see you find many of my favorite shells. I also sad because my beautiful collection was dumped in the trash when we unexpectedly had to sell our home in the summer. But seeing you being so excited brings back beautiful memories. By the way, queen conchs do live on the east coast. There were HUGE ones in the Jupiter inlet. So sadly a big release of water from Lake Okeechobee killed them. I re-watch several of your videos. Thank you soooo much for making them.
Hi friend, thank you so much for watching!
I loved reading through your comment, here. I love to collect shells on the east coast of Florida and it's generally pretty rewarding!
My husband and I live an hour away from John Mac Arthur State Park where this was filmed. We got up early yesterday and parked at Ocean Reef Park at 6 am when it opened and decided we’d walk the 30 minutes north to John Mac Arthur (which opens at 8 am) and shell along the way. There was a major fish kill this week and the beach was littered with dead fish from the reef. Thousands of dead fish. With the heavy sargassum weed in the water and on shore along with all of the dead fish, the shelling was a no go. I found pieces of a helmet conch, hairy triton, and scotch bonnet, but nothing whole. Regardless, the area is beautiful. Going in April would be better as the summer months bring heavy seaweed. I do not recommend going here until the water is tested and they figure out what killed the fish. We do not get red tide on the East coast.
PS: I loved your video! It prompted our trip yesterday. Even though we hit that beach at probably the worse time, the pieces of shells we found
show it can be an awesome shelling beach. Thank you!!
I am so very glad to read that this video inspired a trip! This area of Florida is one of my favs! SW Florida is amazing, but there is a magic about the East Coast! Thanks for watching, and hope to see you on future adventures!
Hi first video of yours I've watched. Thanks👍🥰🤙🇨🇦
I'm pretty sure I've watched this one two or three times now! LOL Don't know why YT keeps putting it in my feed. That ocean though!!! Wow, just wow! Those gorgeous shells! I was wishing you could just shovel me up some and mail them to me! LOL Hugs from Virginia (landlocked side).
Thank you so much - I appreciate your veiwership!
Those Queen Helmets you found are spectacular! Thank you for sharing this video with us.
OMG...so many COOL shells!!
Great shelling! I always bring an extra grocery bag when shelling just in case the shelling is good. I use a net bag to which I've hooked a shoulder strap. This way the bag is hanging at my side and frees my hands for shelling! Some of those Scotch Bonnets had great color.
Hey Bob, I like the idea of the grocery bags! On this particular trip I didn't even have enough room with the backpack I brought, haha!
@@solaceinshelling6552 try the net bag with the shoulder strap. I just bought a strap that had the slide hook openings which I hooked into the netting at the top of the bag. Those bags last forever and hold a lot of shells. It's so simple to place the shells in the bag. I place the strap diagonal across my chest which keeps the bag at my side as I bend down to pick up the shells. The grocery bags require you to hold them which limits hands-free shelling, especially since you're holding your camera. You certainly hit the jackpot at West Palm. There must have been some stormy weather before you got there which stirred up the shell beds.
Fabulous. I fell in love with the little lion's paw @ 20:55. Must find a way to go shelling!
Should have waited til end of video to comment! Insanely awesome finds!!! So jealous! I had one day first trip to 10k islands Marco where I found a scotch bonnet and junonia within 5 minutes of each other. I was flying high! Can only imagine your elation with the distorsio and triton find, hawkwings, helmets and more!
Im just sitting here with a huge bowl of cereal and really enjoying your videos ❤
Omg from land locked PA. Love your channel. Makes me so happy. I feel your solace ❤️
Thank you so much for watching!
Love this so much! Thank you for sharing the beauty of our home 😍🌴
Bittersweet is one of my favorites as well. I absolutely love them!
I cant help but ne amazed by the show of shells today!Wow!
Beautiful shells 🐚 injoyed watching your video, so I subscribed !!! Do you sell any shells 🐚 🤔?? Let us know. God bless you and have a great day my friend !!!

I don’t know how you left this beautiful shell filled paradise 🌞
I had to get back home to upload the content for you all! 😃 Thanks for watching!
Fabulous! Wow, what a great haul. So many great specimens, and what a variety. I love the giant bittersweets too. No bag…😆
Thanks friend! I learned my lesson after this trip and got a bag!
You are so lucky I love watching you on the beach and the shells you find are amazing ☺️ Gail U K.
Thanks for watching from across the pond!
U walk so fast it makes me motion sick lol. I’m jealous of all the beautiful shells you find.
Such an amazing video, you did miss a beautiful piece of green sea glass @ 27:10! I was yelling! Lol thank you for these amazing videos, they bring me so much peace.
I am drooling over this beach and all of your finds… I must make it to this beach soon… green with envy……
I just love all the shells that you found today. I've gone to Roatan twice and found shells I even have a Sea Biscuit and a queen conch
Nice shelling day! I miss the beach
Wonderful shells ! This video is so awesome. One of those scotch bonnets you found looks like a checkered bonnet that they find in Australia all the time.. Lovely day and beautiful water. Can't get better than that.
Thanks so much for watching!
What a beautiful day you had for shelling. I have only found tiny olives. It was breaking my heart that you were leaving those giant ones laying there. I would have loved to have them! :D I need to find a scotch bonnet! what a cool shell. Thanks for sharing your beach walk!
Great place to go! It’s amazing how many different types of shells you found. For one, that huge cowrie blew my mind.
You are so lucky to find those beautiful shells.i have shells from Hawaii & Roatan .I even found a sea biscuit, & a queen helmet. I've never seen a olive. You are so lucky. We live in iowa
Oh what joy!!!! Thanks for taking us along. The water was such an incredible blue.
Hello, I have always loved the color of the water in SE Florida - it's like a Caribbean Blue color...no doubt a result of the warm Gulf Stream right offshore! Thanks for checking out the content!
Jackpot!!!
Beautiful shells!!!
Thanks so much for watching!
I’m so impressed with the beaches and shells around Florida.
So fun to watch!
I love…..love olive shells, just wanted to pick them all up so badly.😂😂😂
So beautyful all of that thanks a lot 🥰🥰🥰
They are so big! That dark red lions paw piece was soooo pretty,
I cant believe you put that back :(
I love bittersweets and there are sooooo many nice dark butterscotch colors in your sell piles there! You need another back pack. almost a rams horn but too rounded and full I think.
That surf is beautiful . Its kinda sad to think that because of ultra-strong and violent storms these beautiful, once 'live' shells are now gone but so admired for their beauty in death...sorry, just kinda sad. Makes me think that because of the amount of large ones your finding, thats not normal is it?
Congrats on a fabulous haul!
What an amazing shell day , thoroughly enjoyed the video , i hope you do many more shell days like this 🥰🥰🥰👍🏻
You need a shell bag for this fantastic shelling adventure so many beautiful shells
Wow this beautiful water only in Palm Beach!
Wow they’re all so beautiful! We’re on the southern east coast right now and I’m learning the shell names through your videos. We were at John D MacArthur beach state park and it looks like maybe where you were in this video but there are piles of shells there and almost nobody walking on the beach. It was heaven! Awesome relaxing video! And gorgeous 🐚! Thank you!
Oh my gosh there’s so many orange scallops I’d be picking up! So many great shells!! Love your video!!
Thank you for commenting and so much for coming along on the adventure!
Gorgeous cinematography, and what a beautiful beach! I would have been positively giddy at seeing those shell piles!! 😍🥰 I would have been all over the dark grey scallop shells, I think they are so striking! Love all the lion's paws too, how gorgeous! I love picking up beautiful shells that are broken too. That Atlantic Distorsio could make a great pendant! All you need is some leather cord or some hemp cord. Really beautiful specimen! ~Caroline
Hello! Thanks so much for the great feedback. I love the idea of a pendant for the broken Distorsio - might have to try it!
I just found you. GREAT VIDEO AND INCREDIBLE FINDS FOR ONE DAY SHELLING. I was a snowbird in that area and collected over 160 different shells over 14 years but NEVER had a day like yours. Congratulations!
Hello Paul, welcome to my channel! Before this particular visit, I had only visited this beach once and the shelling was good, but not amazing. I am not sure why this day was so epic, but I am glad that it was!
I filmed all of my recent Florida content back in April when staying with my family for a week and a half(they are snowbirds too!) I have a "Round 2" adventure from this location coming soon in the future - stay tuned my friend, and thank you for your viewership!
I have shelled Sanibel for years. Since Ian I have not been back. My brother lives there at Palm Beach. I will get there before long.
Should have carried. Bag or bucket with you. I would be in heaven there. Love finding shells.
What do you do with all those wonderful shells? I'd want to take all of them home, lol
Hi friend! I just uploaded a video about my home collection - check it out here: th-cam.com/video/KPKtkj0v5WE/w-d-xo.html
Awesome shelling beach! Definitely need a big shell bag there. Thanks for the video,
Thank you for watching!
That water has incredible color!
amazing!!! as a resident of palm beach i can say she’ll collecting is my favorite!!!💝 it’s so beautiful
I absolutely love ur technique of educating us as u collect. U show the shell plenty of time and the full name even typed on screen!!! Omg love !!! Goodbye other shellers... I found what I've been looking for!!! Keep it up!!!!!!
Oh my gosh, thank you for the awesome feedback. I appreciate your viewership and I look forward to seeing you on the next adventure!
as an avid sheller of west florida, texas, and the Carolinas, i was excited when I saw this video. As I am heading to Florida in two weeks for vacation, I wanted to check this beach out. After researching this area extensively, I have discovered That Macarthur park is an environmentaly protected national seashore. The shells, and everything there are protected. (from what I gather, and please correct me if I am wrong, it is illegal to remove anything from the water or the Beach in this area) This would explain why you were so succesful in your hunt! I am surprised you were not met by the florida fish and wildlife. What a bummer....because I really got excited after watching this video. Not only was it incredible shelling......but the Beach looks absolutely beautiful, and is natural, and void of people and structures.
Hey Richard, you can visit www.floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/john-d-macarthur-beach-state-park - shell collecting is allowed within the park. I have been shelling here before many years ago and it wasn't this good. I have however, heard from other collectors that Macarthur, and elsewhere in Palm Beach County, can indeed be really good depending on tides, weather and of course, luck! Additionally, there are many other great locations to shell on FL east coast that can offer similar finds as well. Stay tuned, I have a round two from this location coming soon!
Thanks for coming along and I hope to see you on future adventures!
@@solaceinshelling6552 Thank you sir, for the follow up. I stand corrected! My research had led me to believe that you could not take shells there.......maybe they meant live ones?!?! but of course that is true everywhere. I am coming down in A week and a half for vacation. I was on Sanibel and Ft Myers in the spring, but had planned to visit Navarre Beach this time. But after your follow up, I think I will spend a week here first and visit Navarre for a week on the way home. Excited to visit. Even if the shelling doesn't pan out....the beach itself looks like a beautiful place to spend some time. Thanx again! God bless, and Happy Shelling!
Awesome finds 🤗
I could spend HOURS in those shell piles. Great finds!
Thanks for coming along!
Wow wow what an assortment of beauties…what an experience…how lucky for u. I do believe it is a special day when u r there at the right time….
Hi Janet, I absolutely agree. I have only been shell collecting to this area of Florida once before, and it was not like this!
Wow congratulations that was a super awesome day at the beach shelling ! I haven’t see a lot of those shells ever so this was exciting! Thanks for taking us along !
Happy New Year hun.

I truly enjoyed your video shelling in Palm Beach! I can’t believe how large some of the shells are. Congrats on the good finds.
Fantastic video,

Hi Susan, thanks so much for coming along on the adventure!
Yay, you mentioned Sanibel!! ,, Believe it or not I've never been to the east coast but this video makes me tempted,, you have such great adventures!🥰🌴
FOMO. What an epic haul. I get real excited when you find tropical shells. I was saying "wow" a lot! I look forward to your videos. Thanks for sharing. xo
What amazing shells you found! Thank you for sharing this video!
Hey Karen, thank YOU for watching!
It looks like there’s no one else on the beach! How fantastic!
What beach?
💛🐚What an incredible day! Now I need to head that way! You need more pockets! 🐚💛
More pockets or even a bigger backpack!
Wow! What an amazing day of shelling you had and so beautiful the water and sky. Couldn’t have been more perfect! We really enjoyed watching your exciting day finding shell treasures! This has inspired us to go over from where we live in SW Florida and spend a day there. Thank you for sharing your special day. 😀👍🏻👍🏻🐬
Definitely going to visit Palm Beach ⛱️
Wow beautiful shells and the water 💦 looked so pretty. I used to live in West Palm, what a pretty place
Amazing shells, lucky you. Wish we had shells like that in England
I am new to your channel. I really enjoy it but I wanted to say that sometimes when you move the phone so fast it can be dizzying...LOL. Thanks for sharing!
Hi friend, I used to have a gimbal, but it became too difficult to use it with weather and heat factors while shelling.
I appreciate the feedback, and look forward to seeing you on future adventures!
@@solaceinshelling6552thank you. I am enjoying seeing you shelling in so many different locations! It's fun to see all the different shells
I just discovered your channel. I don't live near the ocean now but hopefully one day I'll be in FL. I just love shells. I enjoy your videos a lot. Thank you for doing this!
Thanks so much for watching!
Great adventure! Gotta love seashells! You had a lucky day!
Amazing finds; beautiful sea gems! ❤
Thank you so much for all your efforts in recording this beautiful video for me to watch. I love seashells and I was so excited watching you find all those absolutely beautiful ones, I actually found (picked out) some that you ended up picking before you actually grabbed them and that was fun. I have my collection found off the shores of Maui where I live but I must say the colors in those you found are amazing. Thank you again for sharing.
You can never have enough of any kind/species of shells. People who don't live at the beach and collect shells, when on vacation, will gladly purchase them. I know, I'm one of them.
Thank you for watching!
I'm ready to jump on a plane right now. Amazing shelling. I love the videos.
Woooo! ✈️
Wow
Today's collection was amazing
The turbans, lion paws, helmets, lace murex, apple murex, moon snails, tritons, bolingi olive, and the sundials were some of my favourites
Hey Chinchu! I was so happy to have such a great shelling day! Thanks for watching
