Small correction: in Dark Moon it isn't the light that weakens the ghosts when the meter fills up and you hit A; it's like this weird little flash of electricity. I'd say that further strengthens my point though. A good ol' whack on the ground makes more immediate sense than some flashy shock thing that isn't clearly explained, and it's a heck of a lot more fun to watch.
I think it's supposed to be a quick burst of stronger suction.
As someone who wants to use footage of the trailer for a video, are you only allowed to use it for parodies and criticisms or do you have to get permission from Nintendo themselves to use footage from the trailer?

Arlo Here’s another correction. The E3 trailer does confirm the game’s coming out this year.
This looks okay, but i think its going to exemplify the "nintendo games made for children" template. Granted, I havent played the other luigis mansion games, so mabe that's how this series is designed. But it reminds me of kirby star allies. Probably will be fun to look at, but overly simple.

They are a small studio, but the level of their games is very high

I don't feel like enough people are talking about how much effort they put into the animation, look! Luigi literally stiffens up whenever a ghost appears! That's awesome!
Think it has to do with lack of release date. Still dont know when we will get our hands on it. But Luigi mansion 2 sold 8million plus. There are a lot of people excited for this with how much the 2nd sold

I think they didn't finish the closeup model of Luigi for the first teaser, so they just used the player model which is only meant to be seen at a distance. It looks so good now!
I even thought it looked alright the 1st time but knew it could get better.

I think it was because the game was originally for the Wii U. But that’s also a possibility
I doubt this, Nintendo has proven that they are willing to make the main character models have high amounts of detail. Odyssey Mario's player model was a slightly less-poly version of his CG model, it still retained most of, if not all of the detail from the CG model.
Luigi invited Mario, Peach, & a bunch of Toads on a vacation, but not Daisy. The fact that no one is even bringing this up makes her absence even funnier.
I noticed. I really wish they'd put Daisy in a Luigi game.

@@jamielishbrook2384 Yes, there are people who love Daisy and want to see her in more games. Their not the most vocal fans as they simply enjoy the character without making constant demands for her. From my experience anyway.

Yes, look at the shine on the floor in the lobby of the hotel at the beginning. Looks better than some ps4 and xbox one games.
@@Enigmaculate Screen space reflections are dynamic reflections. So the change in real time, as opposed to being a baked 360 degree image. They are able to reflect the player as well as player interactions.

They can make a floor where you have to constantly keep closing doors around the hallways. Then, the power goes out randomly during the floor. Then, you get a key once all the doors are closed, which opens up the final door which has the button for the elevator/lift and the reason as to why the power is going out. There are too many toasters!

I'm still marveling at the fact that this is essentially a series now. Dark Moon was a sequel and we had no idea whether they would follow it up with a new game, and now this is here and it's a full fledged series. That's amazing, and so deserving.
I love how one of the developers said on Treehouse that they listened closely to criticisms and complaints with the previous game. Really shows they care
The only thing they haven't listened to is the brightness.

Not really it's only 1 portrait ghost per floor I dont recall that in the original....they definitely didn't listen completely so expect the same amount of criticism that they got in darkmoon

I mean it looks polished but I feel like they didn't get the aesthetic right. It's not really dark or hard to see anywhere, in fact I'm not sure why you'd ever need a flashlight. The music sounds like it's all in a major key and overall cheerful, and honestly it doesn't feel so far like this game oInts ghosts as something actually to be scared of
Shjon Watlington, I’m sorry to hear you’re disappointed. I understand why though. I never played any of the other ones. the reason being is that Nintendo lied when they revealed the GameCube. They showed footage of what they claimed to be in-game footage. What was released was something less. That turned me away from Nintendo up until they finally got their act straight with the Switch.....I’ve been waiting for the Switch for 20 years if you can believe that...I used to day dream and draw sketches of adjustable wireless controllers for Nintendo’s future system...this was way back in ‘97...I’m glad for the future of gaming

I will say though that regardless of the trailer footage (I can't say I ever actually saw it) the og Luigi's Mansion is something to behold.its not meant to be scary but there Is a level of eerieness to it that makes it that much more believable that you are in a haunted house and that the ghosts are dangerous.

What I like about this one is that while the original had portrait ghosts with a theme of a family, this game's character ghosts appear to have a theme of different jobs or occupations
I predict the return of the "Luigi wins by doing nothing" videos where somebody will play as Gooigi the whole game
AH SEU VOU hopefully the game uses gooigi somewhat sparingly
I hope Gooigi replaced Luigi in future games. Luigi is not getting any younger. It's time for him to retire and Let Gooigi time to shine. Maybe we will see him in Rabbid Gooigi spin -off or in Mario Kart 9, Baby Gold Gooigi.

I love how the game is combining the genuinely spooky atmosphere, and the ghost characters of the first game with the great mechanics, and big variety of levels of the second one!!
Also HOLY CRAP King Boo looks legitimately pissed this time...
I think it's smart that Gooigi only has 25HP, it's a fair balancing factor given it can reach areas Luigi can't.

It's the treasure you get. I loved dark moon, stunning ghosts so I could get in position to hit like 2, 3, 4 at the same time and money just spills out of them. First game, check every item in the game and the coins go pling clink cling. The bills go fshshshshhhfhfhfhsshh. You grab a speedy spirit and it goes AAAAIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEE and money explodes everywhere. Those secret treasure rooms? Ecstasy. Finding gems was so freaking satisfying.

The Treehouse discussions and gameplay has given me a lot of extra excitement for this game. Portrait ghosts are back, mission structure is gone (I think), they took all the criticism from Dark Moon, no more than one "mansion"... UGH it just all looks so good!
Mission structure is probably gone since there are floors now and you can actually explore freely.
I will kind of miss the ability to replay areas though. Hopefully this game at the very least carries over the boss refighting stuff from Luigi's Mansion 3DS.

In dark moon king Boo just had a blank face. It only showed one emotion the whole time. The King Boo in this game looks like he is Pissed off that Luigi hasn't been captured. It really humanizes him (even though he's a ghost Lmao)

I think the artstyle here makes sense and it's not just because of Dark Moon. The whole artstyle feels a lot more consistent with what we've seen in Oddysey, it feels like it's a part of the same world.
It also looks better and it is more creative

Actually if you look at the first few clips of the trailer the tank that holds gooigi is empty when you first get it and for a little while after that so you probably will get the abilities over time

On a sidenote, I like the setup they have here. You see, a problem Luigi's Mansion 1 had is that...well, even mansions are typically only so big. This way, they have a haunted building so big they can actually fit a pretty long game into it in theory.

Gooigi is not going to be unlocked since the begining because when he appears the vacum is full of green substance and there are some parts of the trailer which there is not any of this inside
LM3 doesn't look bad at all, in fact the style of graphics is perfect. Go and type "art deco" on google and you'll see. It's an architechtural movement, the 1st to be worldwide, that was very popular from 1925 when it started in paris, to 1944, just before the 2nd world war ended. So LM3 taking place in a 1930 hotel it's totally natural to have that look. The sharp lines are totally part of the style as well, and when well used it can make a building look pretty creepy, LM3 does that PERFECT. and i like the fact that the furniture isn't exactly symmetrical or perfectly horizontal, it adds to the creepiness and the goofiness of the game. I love the stylised 8 of the 8th floor of the hotel (cinema thing) above the lift arch

Egad is in every game I think, but I was so happy when I saw polterpup in Luigi's Mansion 3. I really thought he was gonna stay in dark moon forever, but Nintendo must've noticed he was a fan favorite :D
Judging by the buttons on the side of the elevator, it seems there will be 17 levels on the hotel! Hopefully one is a rooftop

I expect the first level to be a long linear path where you swap back and forth between Luigi and Gooigi to get passed the next barricade that the previous character couldn't as all tutorials do.

Hey Arlo you said that you get all of your abbilities right of the start but you can see if you collect the pultergust there is no green slime in it and in other scenes there is also no slime in the pultergust so that means no gooigi at the begining of the game. I just wanted to say that.

Guys at 14:07, look at the reactions of the other ghosts being slammed by the ghost Luigi is trying to suck up. look at how terrified they are as the ghost is about to come down on them - even more so after they’ve been slammed already - they’re waving their hands as if to say “please no more!” I canNOT believe that level of detail.

I'm so in love with the visuals and the animation! So smooth and full of personality! I haven't even played the first 2 yet but I'm super hyped for this just because it looks so GOOD!
Both are great, but give the original try. Its definitely more unique than 2 and probably 3 as well. Gives off horror vibes and borrows some elements from games like Resident Evil.
I often listen to these videos while I’m at work. Arlo was talking about the slam move and I sorta blocked out the video from my mind to concentrate on work, and what felt like 15 minutes later, I listen back to hear he’s still talking about the slam.
The one thing that concerns me is that from the treehouse story footage the only hotel like thing is the elevator. And I was excited for that but I can't see it in the beginning of the game.
Edit: update I just realised that the treehouse gameplay and E3 demo gameplay is from some random part of the game
I don’t know if Arlo knows yet, but GameXplain uploaded the full opening cutscene.
I'm thinking Arlo will be trying to avoid any more spoilers from now on.

A little detail I noticed about gooigi: Whenever Gooigi isn't being used it goes back into the poltergust which is the big green glowing thing on it, and from what i could see in some of the footage gooigi isn't around and yet the poltergust is empty so perhaps you do unlock it later.
I know some of the footage might not match up to this but remember it's just an e3 build and I imagine they gave gooigi to the people playing just so they can test out all the abilities reguardless if you would have or have not unlocked it in the real game by that point
