  • This location closed down in March 2024. They still have the self checkout registers intact, as well as the shelving and other miscellaneous stuff remaining inside the building. Not sure if this was a different grocery store before, but looks like it could have been an A&P store before. Read online that this Acme and the rest of the shopping strip will be demolished to make way for an apartment complex.

I'm pretty sure you've heard about another closed supermarket near where I live. It's called Sickles Market in Little Silver and was family owned. They have also been closed since March after 116 years due to new competition, the ill timed overexpansion into Red Bank, and not being able to pay all of their employees, vendors, rent, and health insurance since January 1st. I wish I can let you see what's left of the store but there are "no trespassing" and "under video surveillance" signs there

Actually, I didn't hear about Sickles Market being closed. That's a shame that they did because of various reasons. It's okay if I can't film it, I'd rather not risk getting into trouble filming the place if there's those signs there

This has always been an Acme. It was opened in the early 2000s.

TD3, This shopping center is being torn down to accommodate an affordable housing complex. I believe the Applebees is staying. I feel sorry for the new homeowners/tenants as well as the homeowners that live in the senior citizens buildings across the street in East Brunswick. They will have to travel to North Brunswick, East Brunswick or order delivery (which can be too expensive for some - ShopRite charges $14.50+ for shopping , delivery & bags.)

Yeah I already filmed that location before, they have relocated to the former Babies R Us location at the ITC Shopping Center
