You are the only one that thoroughly explains how to attach the second half. You explain piece by piece. NOT just do it the same on the other side. I finally am able to make it correctly. Thank you for your video.
Oh I’m so happy to hear that 😀❤️ Thank you for letting me know
One of the best videos on this pouch I have seen lately and I want to add a wrist strap
Oh brilliant. A wrist strap is a nice idea.
Thanks so much Lisa , you explained this so clearly and my pouch turned out great 😊
That’s lovely. I’m really glad
So appreciate that you added inch measurements as well as centimeters to your very clear presentation!
Right at the beginning of my TH-cam journey, a couple of people requested it so now I add them for every tutorial 😀
You are easy to follow 😊. Thank you very much
Thank you 😀
Really needed this refresher course on zippers. It’s been a long time since I’ve done them. I’m going to use fabric from an old dress, reuse and up-cycled.
Oh that’s brilliant. I’d love to see it when you’ve done it 😀
This is beautifully finished. I cant wait to make one (or several!)
Excellent. I hope they turn out well 😀
One of the best small bag videos I've seen. Thank you.
Oh thank you very much. That’s very kind of you to say
That's the best tutorial for those pouches I've ever seen, thanks so much xx
Oh thank you. That’s very kind of you to say 😀
Have watched numerous tutorials on zip tabs. This is by far the best and easiest to follow. Now in the process of making a pouch and will employ this method, which by the way, finishes much more cleanly than others I've watched. Thank you so much for the great tutorial!
Thank you very much. I’m so glad it helped
Love your tutorial. This is the best one I have found explaining and showing zipper tabs from start to finish..
I’m glad it was helpful
That is a much nicer way to finish the ends of the zips. Thank you for sharing.
You’re welcome 😀
Thank you for a very well explained video. I needed this!
You are so welcome!
Great clear instructions. Thank you. Despite making pouches with zips before I approached them with trepidation but after seeing this I think I can do them with joy not fear!
Oh that’s great. Good luck. 😀
lovely tutorial, thank you.
Thank you
I love how you explain each step. Best video and I've watched a few. Thank you so much for this.
Thank you very much. That’s nice of you to say

Thank you so much for the clear instructions! I have made pouches with zips before but your instructions helped me do a better job.
Oh I’m so glad
I love making these bags, but have never quite mastered the tabs and zipper part. Your tut has made it much easier to understand and the next one I make will be done like yours. Cheers and thanks from Australia
Oh that’s great. I love using them as I think it makes the zip so much nicer to look at and it’s so much easier…..a win-win 😀
Thank you... I enjoyed that tutorial....
Oh that’s so great. Thank you for telling me 😀
That’s really helpful. I always struggle to insert zips
They can be tricky but this process makes it easy
Such a great tutorial. I have made five slightly smaller ones (6” zip, fabric 7.5” x 5”). They are so simple and I love how the interfacing gives it stability. Thank you!
Oh that’s great. I’m so pleased it was helpful
Love it lisa!
👍🏼thank you
Great tutorial, I’m not confident at zips so this has really helped
Oh that’s good. I’m glad it helped
❤excellent
Thank you so much. I hope you enjoyed it 😀
Made a Sashiko/boro bag this morning using this great tutorial! I always forget how to put the pieces in order!! Thanks!
Oh that’s great. I’m glad it helped and I hope the bag turned out well 😀
Your tabs come out so nicely! I want to try this method because mine are always kind of wonky. Thank you!
Glad you like them! It’s an easy method
Hello it was a excellent tutorial,I am going to make for my Craft Fayre sale❤ Thank you
Oh that’s excellent. I hope the fayre goes well
thank you, I am planning to make this pouch this week. I am going to add ric rak on the outer edges
Oh that sounds like it will look really pretty ❤️
thank you. Thinking i will attache zipper then insert ric rac on sides for closing the pouch@@asewinglife
Or what you could do is attach it before you sew the main and the lining together. If you place it inside the seam. That might make it easier to sew?
Thank you! would u suggest I attach zipper, then ric rac, then closing?@@asewinglife
Hmmmm….I think if I were doing it I would attach the rac rac all around the edges before sewing the zip on or doing anything else. Almost so that the ric rac becomes part of the fabric …you’ll need to place it in the right position so it doesn’t get caught up in any of the seams. Does that make sense? I’d love to see what it looks like. I don’t think you can post photos here but my Instagram account is @asewinglife or my email is lisa@asewinglife.com
I’m excited to see it 😀
You’re so clever
Thank you 😀
Thankyou for a great tutorial Lisa xx
Oh you’re very welcome. Thank you for saying that 😄
Thank you ❤I’m glad you like it 😊
Thank you for the video. I struggle with getting the zipper flat. I've wished there was a video that just show the last part.
Can you give me some more detail about what but you struggle with?
If you were to make these in different sizes, what’s would the zipper size ratio to fabric be? For example, would you get a zipper that is half inch smaller than the bag? I hope you understand my question, I’m it sure if it’s clear enough.
I would measure the full length of the zip that you’re going to use, including the extra length at the ends I.e not just the length of the metal/plastic zip teeth. Then add 2cm or 1/2 inch for the width of the piece of fabric. Sit the zip on top of your piece of fabric to check it has 1cm extra fabric each side. I hope that helps
@@asewinglife oh thanks 😊 so much. That helps.
Hi Lisa, can you say which interfacing you used please? Sorry couldn’t see it mentioned in your notes
Hi, yes I used a medium weight fused interfacing. It should be fine with whatever you have to hand though. As it’s so small, you can use leftovers from previous projects 😀
Would you have the written directions for this tutorial?
Actually I don’t but I’m going to put a pattern together as it’s such a popular item. Would you like me to email you when I’ve done it?
Thank you.
@@Joan-mc8gmif you want to send me an email lisa@asewinglife.com I will let you know when I’ve done it 😀
Making it today.. found you on IG
Oh brilliant. Let me know how it goes 😀
Thank you!
You’re welcome 😀
