    Audio Engineer here... below 60 dB is extremely quiet. That's within normal human speaking volume. A whisper for reference is around 30 dB and a human scream is 80 dB and a rock concert is approaching 110-120 dB. The thing with dB is that our hearing is logarithmic... For perspective people perceive 10dB differences as being twice as loud. So this is a 20 dB drop is perceived as 4x less loud by the human ear.

    Throw a couple moving blankets on it for even more soundproofing. My L7’s were at 85 dbi and with a vent shroud and some 3 foot sections of 6in dryer vent and foam board insulation I was able to get down to 50 dbi!

    Hey @Red Panda Mining, be super careful of running these in enclosed containers long term - The heat build up on the logic board/PSU area can cause chronic damage that only shows up 3-6 months later. I run a business service mining farms and repairing ASICs and we have people bring us S19s ruined by these kind of devices all the time. The units are designed and tested in high airflow warehouses, with air flow around the units in some form or another.

    • @elliotthanford1328
      @elliotthanford1328 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I second this. As someone who works for a mining firm you can get really strange errors if the control board gets to hot, better to have the unit not fully ducted like that.

    The fans going on & off. It's the Asic shutdown fail safe feature. Unit inside is getting to hot & struggling.
    Happy to see you took my advice from last month's video on the power supply having to be exhausted out as well.
    Your rpm fan speeds don't look good.. add an inline fan on the intake side only. Temperatures & rpm will improve

    I'd like to see someone cool an ASIC using only AC Infinity fans. I imagine it would do an even better job than the delta fans with a lot less noise.

    • @ystebadvonschlegel3295
      @ystebadvonschlegel3295 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did it with an older model - ran an 8" AC infinity fan through a shroud. Definitely much quieter. Not sure if would work with the higher heat of todays 3000+ watt version though. those deltas have much higher static pressures

      HoA is an organization that tells you when to water your grass and what flags you can fly around your house among other stupid things.. HOA is a waist of money. I don't know how anyone can buy into a development that you can't even work on your OWN car in your OWN DRIVEWAY lol.. also, the HOA controls your water and makes you water your grass even if you don't want to pay for it with a lock box that they control even though you pay for it. They have control of your property, that you just bought, with your own money.. and people just smile and think it's a good thing lol

    you should remove fans and add a 6 inch inline duct fan from ac infinity would be great content

  • @MrTiger0002
    @MrTiger0002 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You can make it even quieter. Sound wave travel easily when there is no obstruction. Since air flow is quite important, you can 'interrupt' that sound wave. Say if you have straight exhaust pipe compared to gentle S exhaust pipe... think of a gentle curves. Choosing a thicker flexible plastic pipe will have more dampening effect. This is the first step. Some people got metal ducts and there is a lot of echo inside the pipe, this is where a silenser comes in handy... like what Red Fox Crypto got. Even so, curves are necessary to disrupt that sound wave. One thing to keep in mind, the longer the pipe, the harder it is for fan to push air so you may need another fan to help push it out if the pipe is like 20' long... you get the point.

    this seems .... kinda .... off
    the thermals can't be good crammed in that box, and those chests are insulated with air
    air doesn't block sound that well, compared to foam
    it's a start but if this is for sound (throw it outside in this kinda case hahaha)
    but if this is for sound you should try a styrofoam cooler, or line the cooler with styrofoam
    or some other kind of Soundblocking material
    this would be great to put a filter on and throw Outside tho

    Why not just build a wall in refrigerator? Lol I know it sound ludicrous but in all reality you could build it out large enough to house all your rigs and you could even have the fridge set to a higher temp so instead of the average 38 degree fridge you could have them set it up like 50-60 degrees that would keep all of those cards pristine sure it would be an added cost to the electricity but your already raising those costs with ur current cooling solutions which you would in theory be opting for the more efficient method of cooling not to mention the reduction of noise alone
