Hey man if you blew fresh air into the intake side with a basic household fan would that keep the temps cooler? Thanks legend. I am half way through making a box like the upstream box out of a old chest freezer. However I started cutting with the grinder before disconnecting the compressor and when I hit a pipe the whole thing caught on fire haha. Just adds extra excitement to the process

I’ve tried the quiet boxes and with our heat and humidity they just couldn’t take it. The heat sinks falling off if you clean it was my first $ clue lol. I live close to Shreveport and there is a gas field all south of us. My residence rate is near .23 and commercial at my shop is .15. So .08 would be advantageous. I’ll get ahold of them through the link and mention you as much as possible lol. Thanks again.

It would be free for the guy who owns it.. like everything else in the world there are layers; the oil man who doesn’t even know what crypto is- rents his pipes full of “free gas” to a crypto guy for less than 8.5 cents, and the crypto guy resells the electricity it produces at 8.5 cents as a business. Then the crypto miner buys the electricity because it’s cheaper than at his own place and everyone sort of wins.
You said you thought the increased temps were because warm air was making it around the sides. But could the issue be more about inefficiencies in air intake and exhaust? I'm having similar issues with the Cryptology Consulting box with ducts on the ends and even with fans on both sides I'm seeing increased temps. Seems like it might not be getting the hot air away as efficiently as it should. My next attempt will be piping the air outside instead of into a small vented attic..
Did you put foam inside that box? Same issue, and especially with the cryptology box, the vents aren’t perfectly aligned with the exhaust of the miner. If you make it so no air can recirculate back to the intake INSIDE the box, it’ll cool it down immediately.
@@SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE yep, added the foam to seal off the top. But if you look at the sides and bottom under the tray there are gaps there as well. That's why I added the inline fan to the back; I figured I could brute force push some of that air back the way it came. It helped lower temps by a few degrees, but I still haven't been able to run it at full power on a warmish CO day. So ya, seems like an issue using ducting with how the vents are setup.
@@lazerhawks with mine, I ended up taking a metal shears to the grated end of the box and connecting the duct directly to the miner such that the end of the 3d printed duct is positioned literally outside the box. It’s what led to the next video after that one where it was just ducts and bigger ducts.

Mine came with 8in shrouds, I know yours were 6in in the video. Cutting that much away, did you find you had more sound leaking out? That's almost as important as the hot air in my case.
