I just got confirmation of the VRAM size of these iPollo models and other info from iPollo themselves below:
iPollo V1 Mini Classic 130mh/s ETC has 3.6gb vram
iPollo V1 Mini Classic Plus 280mh/s ETC 3.6gb vram
iPollo V1 Mini ETH Miner 300mh/s ETH 6gb vram
"regarding mining other coins with V1 mini Classic,
our team is working on new firmware for other coins,
within couple of weeks they will have the new firmware for ZIL, EXP, ETP. coin
    so its coming soon."

This miner for $2k, 130mhs, 110W, resale value - paper weight.
    vs
    2x 3070ti for $1k, 160mhs, 400W, addition of 290W costing around $350 extra per year, resale value around $600.
Let's say those run for 3 years, you have extra profits on GPU side for additional 30MH/s and also $600 (300 each) resale value.
Also the miner can only mine ETC, in the upcoming GPU mineable coins war, you really needs a GPU that can mine everything.
This miner could be only viable if it would be less than $1k, and then still some would rather go for GPUs...

      @axellarsson3461 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The resale value market isn't this product niche. If you are an incorporated miner you don't care about resale value since you can write off sub-$600/item electronics via accelerated plan over 3 years. But for home miners it's a good point.

RPM very awesome review, I truly like how you never recommend any ASIC and the funny thing is the bulk of my wealth come from mining with ASIC lol, it’s all good, I also know my A10 pro’s will NOT get any firmware upgrade for ETC, so Jaz miners will be for the win, also if you remember the A10 ETHMaster that never got the ETC firmware, I have been in contact with support and as of today I am told they are NOT working on ETC support, just note not because it’s the same algorithm does not mean you can mine other coins not supported, the coin support has totally different headers and negotiation than other coins using The same algorithm, so yeah the miner built in software has to have support for the coin regardless if it’s the same algorithm.

Asic miners are a little confused, it's a no brainer to avoid asic miners. I've come across a 3070 for almost 500 now so that's a quarter of the price for the same work performed but a bunch more algorithms to choose from. Asics sound interesting and nice until you look at the bigger picture and Asics are super restricted and I think a GPU should cost more than these things, some of these Asics are way overvalued. They know their machines only do one thing and it's sad something that can mine can't mine nothing but one coin it was made for, I think they are all trash unless somehow in the future they can mine multiple algorithms that way they can be all purpose miners instead of a one coin miner soon to be ewaste

With $2000 you'll get 5x3060 which yields $7.5 daily, no GDDR6X memory (stays cool) and you have a 3 year warranty through a local reseller. Worst case scenario would be sending stuff to China for warranty as 20% of the packages via Aliexpress gets lost via Sea freight cargo.
But definately would purchase few if they were around $800 each.

Even at $2 its over 3 years to break even (unit + electricity). And although it might make $2/day on ETC classic right now when regular ETH merge happens the hashrate on ETH classic is going to skyrocket.. ETH Classic might be an attractive option to miners but it doesn't have a value proposition over other coins to drive up the price to ETH levels. Lots of miners mean lots of sellers... but not enough buyers to deal with the glut of supply (especially if massively increased difficulty level drives up price).

"Or do you think all the big miner farms are just gonna shutdown no questions asked"
Not all farms are the same.. The ones with ASICs only work with certain coins.
When the merge finally happens What's probably going to happen is ASICs in jurisdictions with expensive electricity are eventually going to shut down. Profit margins are going to become razor-thin. Over a few months, many will realize they can't even cover electricity costs and shut down. Might be able to recover some costs by selling equipment to places with cheap electricity.
With GPUs although technically there will be a wider selection of coins, they won't be able to compete on coins with ASICS (unlike with ETH where both coexisted). So the only GPU farms that will survive are the one's with less power hungry GPUs, regions with cheap electricity, and coins that don't work with ASICs.
Make no mistake... crypto winter is coming and this time it's not going to go away. The only real hope the vast majority of miners have (of existing equipment) is if someone comes out with workable model of proof of useful work (perhaps Flux... tbd) Even then, I don't think it will be as profitable as ETH was.

@@jonymanay Coins that depend on generating useless hashes have no long term future. Even putting aside environment costs, It's simply too slow and expensive per transaction. That's exactly why the merge was inevitable.

@@mydogsbutler When tether coins like Luna absolutely bomb. I wouldnt trust any tether or POS coin with no real backing or security.
When Eth2.0 comes out lets see what happens. Theres a reason they keep delaying POS and thats security. Which POW miners currently provide.

i tried CLO just a few weeks already, just to share... my profit on k1pool with 1gh on solo mining was more than ETC profit shown in what to mine.. Better try out now..

ETC already changed the algorithm from ethash once to etchash; different block header information; and they are still taking about changing it again to sha3 .. So, I wouldn't risk it. What type of memory?

Personally i would not buy it just because it only mine on a single algorithm. But as you said if you are someone who cares a lot of efficiency then go for it. Haha. Also i really missed those days where you unboxing stuff using only riser without using proper knife RPM. Haha
