      Hi. I enjoyed watching your video whilst looking for help for my condition. I had a hip rep 13 weeks ago. My 1st HR 12 yrs ago on other leg was perfect. Walked unaided after 5 weeks.
      This time the surgeon said my hip was nearly destroyed and it was a big op. 16" scar. Unfortunately week 2 post op, I took a very bad lung infection and was weak and recovery took a while. I wasnt eating and not fit to do my post op exercises. Im fine now but left with a limp. (Sometimes more a ducks waddle).. If I take long strides its better but I tire. I go to physio exercises weekly and also do at home. The physiotherapists are a great help. Would the exercises on this video help me to get rid of my limp. Also would wearing a Hip Support brace help me? Im 70 but a young 70 and still like to enjoy life but this limp is getting me down. I still take a walking stick out with me and use it when i tire. Im desperate. Thank you.

    I broke many bones in my left ankle - together with 3 plates and many screws there is partial fusion causing the left heel to be lifted a quarter of and inch off the ground when I walk. Unfortunately the right knee and hip got sore after being unable to compensate for change in gait. Recently about 8 mos. I have a limp. Doctors have come up with many theories IT band inflamation, tilted knee cap, torn meniscus, hip bursitis and arthritis - I still don't have a straight answer. PT tried a stretch that aggravated the pain and caused swelling below left side of right knee. PT is now suggesting I walk with a cane and tiny movements to avoid aggravting my condition. You seem to understand my frustration and the need to build muscle to strenthen joints. If there is an approach that can address knee and hip pain together please let me know! I have watched many of your videos - they have been so helpful - THANK YOU!!!

    Planks are the main solution because core strength is what matters. I have had a limp due to my hip for years. Six weeks of planks is curing it.

      How long do you plank

    • @2Hesiod
      @2Hesiod 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Lowendslim I'm up to 6 one minute planks daily after three months. Very motivated because of how much the core strength helps, not only with the limp but with quality of life. It seems like one of the most crucial keys to well-being in old age. As for regrets of before retirement, I rank not having core strength high on the list.

    I'm currently working on raising the arch on my left foot. The physio I'm seeing says that because I drop it I'm tilting my pelvis and the right hip muscles are over stretched (and very painful) and the left are shortened. I currently have a small scrunched up paper wad taped under my left arch to prompt me to raise it.
    I watched myself in the mirror this morning to see what happens when I drop my arches. It makes a big difference to the position of my knees and hips. Changing the habits of a lifetime is a challenge but I'm going to do it.

    This sounds so helpful to many! My left leg is 2” shorter than my right from a very old motorcycle versus car injury. I’ve recently been diagnosed with meniscus tears, bakers, cyst, and stage 2 to 4 arthritis in my knees. I’m not really limping, although I do have limited mobility in my left ankle. I cannot wear a 2 inch lift and walk so I wear one and a quarter inch which leaves a three-quarter inch deficit. I’ve compensated in someway for this through the past decades but imagine it’s contributed to the arthritis. I how does one not compensate with an actual physical legal length difference? Is there anything we can do to strengthen muscles to prevent harmful compensation?

    • @FirstnameLastname-pe5ib
      @FirstnameLastname-pe5ib 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would try a one & three quarter or one & a half inch lift. Also keep inind the lifts material. If it's a squishy one, it will decrease in lift when you stand. If it's solid, it won't. You got this

    After fracturing femoral stem I had an anterior hip replacement after They found another fracture lower. I was told to stay off for three weeks. This caused gluteus medius atrophy in the effected left leg. I am still in therapy for it. I find if I walk without my cane holding my stomach in my limping is tre’ less. Does this suggest certain exercise treatment. I do have age against me 81 and they say osteoporosis. I was an exerciser and step racer having done 9 miles the day I fell.

    I might have lost my toe strength/ flexibility. Is the compensation rotation usually internal or external for this disfunction?
    Feels like each step my left leg wants to turn inward. Hip pain has now become a problem.
