    Hi, I've just subscribed to your TH-cam Channel and I'm so glad because you are a good knitter and I enjoy learning from you. I'm watching the video tutorial for Cuff Down Socks - and I was wondering if you ever knit two socks at the same time? I've only made two pairs of socks and haven't found the best pattern to use for my perfect fit socks yet. I've learned from two Vlogs that you may know of - Carmen of New Leaf Podcast and The Chilly Dog on Ravelry and TH-cam. I bought a pattern for short socks "Switchback Socks" from The Chilly Dog Vlog (on TH-cam) - they are really pretty. She uses a gusset style heel and it looks comfortable and easy to knit. I have DPNs but I need ChiaGoo Shorties. I think they make it easier to knit socks and can be used for sweaters also. I'm excited about your Yarn Cozies in different sizes. They are so pretty and definitely something I would use. It is very good to have two 50 gram balls of yarn to work from when knitting two socks at the same time. I want knit two Switchback Short Socks at same time and I hope I can. I've was hoping you had a video about this. I think a simple sock pattern could be easy to demonstrate with but I don't know if you an interest in it.
    My socks so far turn out different instead of the same. And I feel like I need both of them knitted at the same time so they turn out the same. I think it's a tension thing and how I feel makes a difference too. Thank you for your knitting Vlog - I'm really enjoying what you share. Sending love and best wishes from Santa Fe, NM. Lori

    Great tutorial! Can I ask, is there a right and wrong side to the ribbed section please?

    • @KnittyNatty
      @KnittyNatty  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Generally the right side is the outside of the tube of knitting. However, ribbing is the same on the right and wrong side, so if you get flipped inside out it won't matter much!

    I want to do contrast cuff,heel and toe but, I did the cuff and when I changed to the next color it looked weird. I started the new color on the main front needle, beginning of row then knit all the way around. But the yarn from the front and back needle looked strange. So I’m not sure where to add the color in. Is there a trick?

      Jenn Crafts hmm no tricks! When doing a contrast cuff from the toe up, I knit a row in the cc first and then start my ribbing- like you said! You will most often get a jog from adding a new color when the stitches look misaligned at the beginning of round. You can try adding the cc on the last stitch or two of the previous round to see if that helps create a more seamless join!

    I’m not seeing a link for the magic loop tutorial you said you would recommend. I keep getting extra stitches, possibly weird yarn overly things?? Help!!

      Hey there! Sorry about that! Just added a great tutorial from Very Pink Knits. She has several, so feel free to poke around her channel. Oh dear! I'm wondering if the yarn is getting tangled around the cord when you're arranging your needles. Make sure your working yarn is always out of the way and not getting caught in the cord when you're switching from one side to the next. It's easy to do. I think the video will help! Let me know :)

    So you don’t have to “join in the round” before you start the cuff because you’re already connected? Sorry if that’s a dumb question. 😂

      No you're good!!! When you knit that first stitch after the cast on, that will join it in the round. :)

    Do you have a basic cuff down pattern suggestion? This will be my very first attempt at socks.

      Yes! Susan B. Anderson's "Smooth Operator Socks" includes a great photo tutorial. You can find the pattern on Ravelry. :)
