- We went back to see our friends at Superformance and fell in love with their new MkIII Cobra R. With the Roush small block 427 it's making 550 hp and looks amazing. Personally, I like the addition of the front splitter, the side vents, the diffuser...it adds a modernized race element to the classic 427 Cobra and puts and instant smile on your face the moment you put your foot to the right pedal.

I remember getting a payed ride at a car show one time, in a car like this. There was a Ferrari, a Lamborghini, Aston Martin... but I could hear ONE care, but I couldn't see it. And I told my friend; "Whatever THAT is, I'm getting in it". And it was a Shelby Cobra. I didn't even have to open the doors to get in it, and hear those side pipes roar. We drove 2 laps and that was it, but it was also something I'm gonna remember for the rest of my life, because holy **** this car was not only fast and loud. But it beat every carnival ride I've ever bin on! BEAUTIFUL car!
Sometimes it's not about having 1000hp, forced induction. Sometimes it's just nice to have a perfect sounding toy machine. If I had a Cobra like this, I'd call it Therapy.

I like the spoiler and diffuser and the vent but when I win the lottery mine will be red without the side fins. That sound......chills
We have one in the showroom less drivetrain in Sunset Red with Diamond Black Stripes and Satin Black Trim!
If Shelby was still building these to win races today, it would look like this. Super sexy Cobra, plus aero so it sticks the corners. Sweet.
That sound is music to my ears! Reminds me of a scene from the movie Gumball Rally when they're driving through downtown New York. Such a distinctive sound and it never gets old. Superperformance delivers an exceptional product.
Vincent Cook it is such a perfect sound to hear for hours on end. Superformance definitely nails it on their vehicles
The color is so perfect. Probably the color I'd paint my Mazda RX-7

Always dreamed of building one of these with my son. I'm a chevy guy through and through but there is just something special about the cobra that nothing else compares to. When the new c8 was released my son and I were both in love but this model right here would be my mid-life crisis purchase no question. This car is a masterpiece in all aspects. You guys knocked this outa the park.

Another great video and great car. It is nice to see how lovely they incorporated these "modern" changes to the Cobra. It makes it look a little different but still recognizable as a classic shape of a Cobra. Keep up the good work Sean and can't wait for the next video.
Hey Shawn, true story. Back in 1981, I was driving (my 1st car at 21) a '71 ford Pinto north on the I-5 from San Diego to LA. All of sudden my car started to rattle and shake, I look to my right and lo and behold it was AC Cobra, loud as hell, the driver had on leather jacket & helmet, goggles and a white scarf blowing in the wind! That thing was shaking my Pinto to pieces, I thought I was going to lose the dented front fender. Cobra's are pure power. Period.
Those pin drive wheels with the true knock offs are awesome. In the 18" size, its the perfect balance of period correct with modern performance.

the vipers grandfather .. this car is awesome ... i love Shelby but not a huge fan of ford but the ford gt is awesome .. but this car unbelievable i like the coupe better but still awesome ... very nice build one of the best on this channel and i am a Mopar guy ... new cars just are not as good as the classic cars ... it takes real drivers to handle the classics ... where new cars grandma can drive them ...

I absolutely love it. I WILL have and build my dream cobra one day. It is a life roam goal of mine. The best cars to ever come out of the USA is the Ford GT (original and 2005 version), the Corvette 427 C2, and the Shelby Cobra. Completely timeless and endlessly beautiful. With performance you can’t beat by pretty much anything.

Oh My , Looking at the Cars in the Showroom , I thnik I have Died and gone to Heaven . U.K. , 1966.ish , standing by a Traffic Island , a 427 Cobra came around , never forget that sound .

@@AutotopiaLA I only need my Numbers on the Lottery to come up . The same Year I was doing all the Gas Pipes etc on a New Building site . The Road through the site newly Tarmacked , was about 1 mile long . Me and another Fitter were on a slight rise , along side the Road . I heard this sound of a Car running not quite at it's best . Looked round , and a Sports Car was rolling down the Road . My Friend almost turned a cartwheel , and he told me this '' That is a Ford gt40 , and probably running cold , with the choke on , just wait '' , The Driver hit the pedal , and it was Gone . The Guy with me said it probably came from David Prophet Garage , a well respected Petrol Head . P.S . Thanks for the Videos .

I've told friends that I'm done with project cars but would make an exception for a Cobra replica. And with a job in the aviation industry, I'm used to wearing ear plugs.

We’ve done multiple Cobra’s with Superformance and one Backdraft...I prefer the Superformance cars personally

Yo!!! Man its been a bit since I can catch a video. I'm on a "special job" and got some time. But what a great video to come back to. Such a beautiful car, and that sound! But yes I love all the modern little updates they did to it. Congrats on getting to run that thing for a day or two.... And as you said, it never gets old, I would be that guy that would own something like that, and would still get gitty every time I cranked it over 3k rpm, even ten years later. People would probably start to question my sanity... Guy: "Dude we get it, its loud" Me: " but listen to it" brrraaaaaammmm. Lol.... 😁😁😁
