One of the key points of the cyberpunk genre is there are no happy endings. It's not about saving the world, because you can't. It's about getting out with your humanity and soul intact.
David did just that! He went out without become crazy and he saved Lucy also.

There is no part two this is all there will be their story is finished. Almost everyone is gone but two the reality of a cyberpunk world.
Very sad, it's a cruel world but it keeps you wanting more. Anna really wants some weird magic to happen so David can be revived lol 😂😂

David is a Legend, but Becca why...
They did her dirty 😭😭
A main character in a prequal that's not in the main game is kind of a huge red flag. But really the most interesting thing in the show is kind of how it foreshadows the ending. Like you see a lot of cycles in this. David walks by the same street constantly, goes to the same laundry mat, ect. You expand that to how Maine ends up and how they talk about Edgerunners and you can see where David is going to end up. Even him saying, "I'm special", he's not the only one that says that, and he really isn't that special. The only character in this entire show that legit is special is Adam Smasher as a fully functioning cyberpsycho which just breaks every rule of Cyberpunk and he's a villain.
If they want to carry David through to another season, I feel they can. I don't think he blew David up or anything, I feel that's them being artsy with his death. But if they bring him back it'll be as a construct or lab rat and really that's a fate worse than death. But I rather just have them end the show here or pick it up with a new team. You are judged by how you die in this city and David got a drink named after him with his death. Kind of the best you can hope for, to die a legend.
The cyberpunk world is very interesting. I felt David was going to die, even the intro animation shows him going into insanity and then break into pieces with that said Anna doesn't like characters she loves die in any movies and stuff lol.
If they make a season two I would also love another story, there is so much to see in this world. Dead is so praised in this world maybe because it's also kind of a way out. Maybe..
