Awesome timing mate…bought myself a reloading kit for Xmas and start on Boxing Day (under direction of a mentor)! With your military background I’d love a video for on firearms cleaning and basic maintenance from your perspective 🙂👍 Merry Xmas mate
I find that when uploading if I click the relevant monetisation boxes and be up-front with whats contained in the video, then I don't get any strikes or anything removed. Downside is I cant monetise some of this content, but plus side is I can share what I want to share.
Thanks Ed, its relaxing running up loads. I was interested in the mandrel on the powder thrower. I have the same unit and only have used it with flake/ball powder. I will need to investigate whether it will throw the extruded powder. I am interested in why you chose the 22-250 instead of the venerable 243. ❓
The thrower is supposed to come with a little black insert called a restrictor. Thats for use with extruded powder, and you take it out for flake powder to get more flow volume. 22-250 over 243 because I wanted to fire higher BC bullets. I've essentially recreated 22 creedmoor without the need for fancy and expensive reamers and brass. 243 is a fine fox rifle, but I wanted something I can use for both foxes and long range competition shooting.
I rewatched the video and now understand what you're getting at. AR2209 in the ADI manual and H4350 in the Hornady manual have different charges listed. I always cross check and find that although the same powder, they are often listed with different weights.
You are right, the case does grow after resizing. For these particular cases I opted to do it first because some of the necks were a bit janky and wanted to sort that out before running them through my die so I didnt get a stuck case. In most instances though, trimming comes after resizing.

Well done on getting a reloading video out. Normally TH-cam policy is for blocking them and hence I don't do any.

Reloading is the next thing im keen to learn and have a go ay
Ha! Dog thought reloading time was a good time for mischief.😂 I’m with you on the priming tool. Reloading my 204 is very therapeutic.
He does it every time he thinks I'm too busy to notice.
So with this loading and projectile is it basically the same as the new 22 creedmoor? Bloody cool either way, feel free to post more reloading.
The ballistics between this and 22CM are nearly identical.

@@fhckoutdoors Thanks, I will check the box, its been a while since I used it, Cheers
AR2209 is H4350, manufactured by ADI for Hodgdon.
and 2208 is Varget.

Do you make your own projectiles, have you and/or would you, if you are keen I'll like to see a .230 cal bullet in a 22-250 case
Nah I don't.
33.6?
I trim after I resize, is there a reason you trim before resizing? I've not tested it but always thought the case could lengthen after sizing.

@@fhckoutdoors yeah cleaning them up first does make sense in your situation.
Not trying to be a smart ass wouldn’t be easier just having a 243 with 87g projectiles
No, because the BC is not the same.
