Great presentation thanks for sharing the numbers.
loving this new content mate!
Great video
I have an older model 700 in 22-250 it shot great with 55gr ammo, but I was looking for a heavier bullet, so I had it re-barreled
with a 1/8 twist, I shoot 77gr hand loads, this thing will stack the bullets in the same hole when I do my part, 3/8 - 1/2 groups
all day long................you have a nice setup enjoy it.
Shit hot vid bro, love it... technically good, with the stuff we love.
Old mate in the background seems occupied 😂😂
Tikka looks noice,awesome job buddy
Looks dangerous 😮
Very Nice setup. 1 in 8 twist 22-250 lets one utilize the full potenial of that round..
Awesome
Really good video mate 👍
Thanks man
Good vid mate thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
I just bought a ibi barrel from cleavers. In 7mm. My gunsmith has spun it up in saum.. I have yet to shoot a match with it but load developing so far indicates they are fast enough.. I personally don't mind button pull barrels especially given wait times in kreigers and bartleins
Good luck with the barrel!
I had a 22x47 lapua built last year using a ibi 1in 8 twist and im shooting 85.5gr berger at 3296fps and its a hammer
Swett 22-250 Kriger twist 9 Amax 77gr Rl19 Vihta 160 target 300m 3shots 15mm 37-39 hot lapua brass gm210
all of sakos model 90 varmint in 22-250 are 1 in 14
great vid as usual - loved the graphs you made up. some channels just rattle off random fucking numbers like it's an auction and then go right into mag dumping. i must admit i'm more of a sporter barrel guy myself, but i have to admit that that's a bloody good shooting rifle you've made yourself there...shit, i'm happy if i can get my rifles to shoot under 6" at 100m!
you really do need to give yourself more credit as a gunsmith. you've made some bloody great rifles and i'm sure everyone here recognises that.
any more .303 content coming up?
Thanks mate. I'm waiting on some sight blanks to arrive from the US (slow at the moment because of the export ban), but once I do I will do a video on filing in an express sight.
Hi Mr Fhuck .Nice piece of hardware. I have a similar set up. Have you considered the 53gr vmax. It has a high BC for a light projectile, .290. It was designed has to be fired out of a high twist 223. I had a fairly easy time getting to half moa with these projectiles.
Yeah mate I've got a box of them to tinker with, but likely wont do anything until I have sorted the 80gr out, thats my priority for this project at the moment.
I never bother wiht load dev. I head straight for max charge and it's always amazingly accurate. As you can see here, you could hvae done the same and many other examples provide the same findings; max charge is best charge.
Max charge is best charge haha
Sorry to hear your factory tikka barrel was shit. Hard to believe though. Here on the other side of the pond, we load our own. I have one that shoots 88gr eldm’s at less than an inch at 400 yards. Smallest group being .8”. Someone suggested the 53gr vmax. Excellent bullet when you are stuck with the old 14” twist rifles. In these times, we don’t have to stoop to that level because of the 1 in 8” twist you can find on these Tikkas or customs. You don’t have to rebarrel a factory tikka, because generally they shoot lights out. Even though they are pretty light.
It was more-so the ammo was shit. I wanted a fast-twist barrel. I might even reuse that barrel on my switch-lug tikka.
Thanks Ed, another really interesting video. I was surprised about the neck splits on the factory ammo. The accuracy with the handloads is really impressive. I need to ask why you decided on this calibre for your hunting rifle. You may have mentioned it in the previous video on the rifle, but I have missed it. The round is a bit of a dinosaur in the real world, so to speak. Cheers
Those groups werent the best. I'll really be dialling it in when I go to the 80gr loads. 22-250 is a great cartridge, and this will be used for foxes, dogs etc. No need for anything heavier hitting, and it has more bang than 223 for longer shots.
Hey mate. I caught your review on the snake proof gaiters recently and am looking to get a pair for myself. You mentioned ones that you bought over the ones you reviewed, i just couldnt understand the name of them. Can you let me know which ones you went with please. Just trying to do some hunting homework. Thanks lad!
Couldn't understand the name? Odd.
I sold all my snake gaiters, I wasnt using them... but look at the Hunters Element V2. Probably the best you'll find.
My 220 swift shoots 1/2 inch group's at 150 yards . With my hand loads
Nice one.
Remington 700 heavy barrel fluted stainless
I find the warmer loads are more accurate

Can’t find good brass to use with my 22-250.
What's your benchmark for good?

I’ve got a Tikka T3 stainless 22-250 varmint barrel and I’ve had no problem with Winchester brass for over 10 years. Groups 8-11mm at 150m, hand loads 55gr boat tail soft point at 3850 FPS. Get a few neck splits after 5 loads (resizing correctly) on each one then they go on the bin
@jbjacobs87 regular annealing makes your brass last aboit 20 times longer..

What?
Sounds like you just should have went 243 route, if you're looking to shoot 80gr bullets
Many people seem to have problems with case capacity and projectile combo to achieve the higher velocities. There is one shot angle where you look like a midget behind that big Fhucken gun.
What sort of problems are you talking about? I am a midget, and this is a big gun haha
@@fhckoutdoors Mostly getting brass that has a good case capacity with a projectile length/seating depth that will work in the magazine get the max velocities and group well with the right powder all with a 24inch barrel. You might do better with a 26 though.
@@dougalmcalpine6804 I havent run into any dramas yet with 80gr projectiles seating at 2.645" COAL fitting my magazine. Plenty of room. the extra 2 inches will give me a velocity advantage, but I'm not exactly trying to make it a screamer.
@@fhckoutdoorsI've probably misunderstood your intentions with the rifle as I'm used to guys wanting a screamer that is accurate on top of that and above max loads is not uncommon. Excellent rig you have though and hope you dial it in nice.
@@dougalmcalpine6804 Ah yep I see what you're saying. When PRS/BR/Fclass shooters start using screamers, I'll make the swap. A lot of them stick to under 2900fps in order to be able to observe trace and see the impacts for corrections on the fly.
My factory 22-250 t3x 1-8 Tikka with reloads shoot less than 1 inch,
What distance? Love the 22-250, I have a cheap mossberg 4x4 and want to go the tikka way
Wow. That thing shoots like shit.
