That's a hell of a joke.
The reason I think the left arm has a different joint than the right is because, in theory, Hasbro (maybe) was trying to do a feature where you remove the arm since in the show he became a Terrorcon and lost a arm, which they tried but ultimately decided to scrap the idea and pinned it in place instead.
Then they did that with gamer edition line.
Yeah I think it's possible
Perhaps, though honestly I think it would be more economical to design it so both were supposed to work that way originally.

It's always funny to me that a guy who cusses as much as I do, and has such a constantly pissed off affectation, is also one of the more wholesome guys in the community.

Despite his short tenure of living, that color scheme is truly tempting me to get this sibling of Dreadwing.
Really, I think that just about anything they do with repaints will look more interesting than this guy.
Skyquake was always one of the coolest fliers, in all of Transformers. Glad there is finally a good figure of him.
When you say always was, do you mean since prime, or since G1?

I hope they make a G2 Skyquake out of this. Too bad Hasbro can't retool him into G2 Dreadwing and Needlenose into G2 Smokescreen/Smokejumper/Smokesniper.

Air superiority, achieved. Legacy Evolution Prime Universe Skyquake is cool. Like the fan mod idea of tilting his shoulder pads down to be alongside his arms in robot mode 2:58, and flipping them around to be air intakes in jet mode 7:52.

Probs was already mentioned, but I remember briefly that this guy had a separate hand in the series and the different arms were to feed into the gimmick

Remember those skylanders with the glow gimmick on the portal? Hasbro should do that light piping, those things were magical

I actually loved this figure, this is the perfect combination of the g2 and tfp design the transformation is ok a bit fiddle in the wings but overall it’s a decent transformation but that jet mode is pure joy I love this figure so much. I love the design so much so seeing this gives me so much joy and also it’s ok to not respond to our comments, we understand man.
I totally feel you on that. It just works so well as a combo.

Originally I’ve been kind of passing on skyquake, but because of this review, I might get this. Maybe if he’s on sale
He's pretty good.
I adore this figure, probably my favorite figure of the year so far.
My only problem is how they don't tell you how to properly transform the backpack, but as soon as you figure it out, that thing is an absolute brick.
God I hope we get at least one of the G1 predators. Talon would look so good as a needle nose repaint
I know a lot of people are hoping for that.
My wild guess on what's with the combined mode with Needlenose: They plan to recolor and retool Skyquake and him into G2 Dreadwing and Smokescreen, and possibly RID Dreadwind and Smokejumper.

I really wish I liked this more, this was the first thing I preordered and was looking forward to it.

Don't feel too bad PE, the dedication to responding to almost every comment on your videos is admirable, but its understandable that not all will be read or replied to. Also thanks for selling me on another figure I'm looking forward to getting sometime when i can, right next to mmc's Carnifex (idw overlord)

It would only get more daunting as your channel keeps growing. Many creators wouldn't bother to address a change in how they interact or run their channel, so the transparency is appreciated.

I think the rumour about the arms was one was gonna come off and do the gamer edition gimmick but got cancelled mid way through so they did a quick change with a pin.
For me I might get the prime dreadwing version or one of the G2 repaints. I’d love to see the machine wars starscream grey/black colours but idk how far repaints of this figure will go
I don't know why they'd do it differently than pinning it then?
@@PerspectiveEnd I think I first heard it from slag podcast about the mismatched arms but like how the gamer figures have the removable arm and you can peg the weapon on to the open peg on the elbow.
They could’ve planned a cannon/blaster to go on the arm or like armada megatron the mini gun barrel could come off and plug into the arm to mimick the arm guns in the show and it could be a small reference to the show where sky quakes arm fell off
I don’t comment too often but it’s amazing to see how big this channel has gotten man. Hell you finally passed my sub count. Biggest reason I enjoy watching your videos is because 1. They are honest and 2. You show me a different side and opinion to many different things
I personally really like this figure and can't wait for the (hopefully) eventual G1 and Machine Wars Starscream recolors, but it does suck how little its light piping works considering where Skyquake hails from. I know the gimmick doesn't have the best track record, but the light piping on the original Turbomasters and Predators was so excellent I swear they would blaze up even in a room painted vantablack.
Yeah those repaints are what I'm most interested my self.
That milestone is unfortunate but it had to happen eventually

As someone who grew up with Transformers Prime, I think this is a good compromise between the styles, it's clearly who it's supposed to be, and I would even like to see if they made a G2 color scheme for him in the Generations Selects line of figures
His eyes looking dead is just screen accuracy (rest in peace funny plane man)

He is quite cool, I felt like could’ve been a little more heftier but besides that he is good. Much better transition than the other Prime figures.

I was so scared of transforming this thing cuz the wing struts felt so fragile.
Fun fact: The episode of TFP This guy was in was the first Transformers Media I ever saw when It aired a decade ago. The next thing I saw was Cyberverse 8 years later.

I’m loving him! He’s my favourite figure from my birthday! The transformation is great and interesting aswell as the sculpting PLUS the nice colors put together absolutely my favourite out of my birthday haul!

This guy finally showed up at my local target (that wave still hasn't hit walmart, lol) and I agree with just about everything. Only thing I didn't hear you mention is the sword storage in the bottom of the chaingun, which mirrors Dreadwing- love that.
I suppose it is an interesting and fun storage a solution.
I half expected a "Look, Bayformer mode" quip when you aimed the shoulderpads skyward showing off their versatility. lol
Why would that be a Bayformer thing? I was more thinking hat it was like Ultra Magnus's Pylons?

The sword's definitely for Dreadwing, but that doesn't make it suddenly good. Regardless, Legacy Dreadwing is definitely on my wish list.
The Recolors of this will be far more interesting than it.

Yes but it's sharp angles. The angles I speak of are Obtuse.
I think this toy works where other Prime Legacy toys fail because it has two distinct specific sources (the Prime design and the Euro-G1 toy) from which to mix and match visual influences.
I think they did a better job of blending this guy yes.

3:48 i know you probably heard this comment before but according to someone's theory one of the arms would've been a port since in the show skyquake's arm was blown off and crawled by itself
Great review PerspectiveEnd!! I'm glad we are getting a Dreadwing repaint of Skyquake, but I do hope we will eventually get Skyquake in his G1 colors. lol Keep on being amazing.
About your remarks regarding the angles: whenever I take a closer look at the animation, the angled surfaces allows felt odd. Like, yeah, it's a stylistic choice, but it sometimes the edges comes across as artificial panel lines.
4:11 I think the glass window on his torso is a reference to the skyquake from g1

The figure having different elbows may be a gutted gimmick because Skyquake lost an arm in the show
This figure is everything I NEEDED from a Skyquake as it's more G1 than Prime. I love G1.5 Skyquake and I love the Predators. The chest, back half of the jet and combination with Needlenose makes me say 'yeah, Predators are coming' and that makes me so happy.

The elbow joint on the one arm is different because you can detach the arm to reference his arm getting blown off
You can not it is pinned, but maybe that's what they were thinking.
you know after dreadwing i started realizing the colour scheme of yellow and red on a primary blue design appeals to me alot

Idk if it's just because I play the ace combat games but skyquakes jet mode just reminds me of one of the giant planes from those games.
As someone who never looks at instructions (when I probably should) I didn’t even know he had those wrist doors. I love him even more now, this is by far the best Prime stylization so far.

I think the difference in elbow hinges is because one hinge has to have space for the tabs to slot in behind it in alt mode
I'm not seeing how that would affect one another.
@PerspectiveEnd one can't be as wide as the other because if it was the recesses for the tabs from the other arm would have to be much shorter or non existent
Old concepts for Skyquake had a removable arm because he lost his arm in show. You can notice because it has the same hinge as the WFC figures
I am sure the head sculpt is the way it is because i am sure it will be a recolored into something that'll be along the lines of a rep for G2 or Machine Wars especially if they two pack it with a figureusing the Needlelnose mold.
For those who don't know Machine Wars was transformers line that came out around the time of Beast Wars/Beast Machines. The short lived line was made the G1 fans who wanted transformers with vehicle alt modes. The line itself also recycled names from G1.
4:10 The chest has a clear window bedside the figure takes many design aspects from the G1 skyquake. He had a chest window. This figure seems cool, I’m personally waiting for a G1 style, machine wars starscream, or king atlas retool/repaint. Not a big prime fan at all.
I like this deco more than the Dreadwing deco, the green is very nice.
There’s a cheat I like to do for the legs that I think just looks better where I unpeg them and let them peel out so you can see them from the sides, it lets you get pretty close to maximum

I really like this figure, unfortunately I think I got unlucky as the left thigh swivel is either loose or broken. It can hold him up fine but any added pressure will send him crashing down.

I honestly hope they eventually do some kinda Gen-Selwexcts or other exclusive of Slyquake and Needlenose as Beastwars II Starscream and BB

While I enjoyed the Prime show I never cared for getting any of the figures. This guy however looks great. Love me some Frieza Force shoulder pads.
While do agree that light piping sucks ass I have to say that Hasbro is indeed getting better at it. I have Legacy Scourge and the light piping on him gives his eyes a sinister glow.
This video just reminded me of the ark's light piping and its actually so big i thought it was a real thing on the character design.
What is so big that it's a real thing on the character?

@@PerspectiveEnd I meant that I thought the light piping on the ark was part of the design from the show because of how prominent it is on the figure. I actually really like the figure, it's flawed but I can't help but really like it.
You know how you feel about Legacy Shadow Striker? (Which I agree with.) That figure's level of "Hello Sideburn retool" for it's robot mode is this thing's majority to me, I look at it and instead of seeing Prime Skyquake, for the most part I go "Hello G1/G2 Skyquake retool," along with the nosecone looking like it's just been glued onto G1/G2 Skyquake's alt-mode.
Would be kinda funny if one of his hand came off as a refrence to that one episode

got this guy recently on a clearance sale on amazon.
he's pretty good fkr the 30 bucks I paid for. but mine had a problem with the landing gear at the front causing the backpack and the arms to be in the wrong place.
(ended up cutting the tip to make everything else fit)
apart from a desperate need of bigger heels and better ankle tilts. he's pretty good.
As I remember it,the landing gear has a summer special place it's supposed to go, there's just a specific order of operations it needs to work with.

Fun fact skyquake was gonna be skywarp in the show but I guess since they didn’t want skywarp to be killed off so soon they changed him to a more obsure character, though another fun fact skywarps concept colors are almost indentical to skyquakes
