    The gasket seals the metal bypass insertion neck. Most stamped bypass assemblies can allow unfiltered oil to push pass the neck. Imho

    Funny How fram is the worst garabage on the market yet their Racing lines are one of the best... Makes no sense but hey it is what it is

      Yeah I totally agree. After opening these filters up I have been running Fram racing on my ctsv

    This review came off a little after bit biased. Starting with the box is a little silly. The plastic on the wix prevents humidity from getting inside the filter when the product sits on a shelf for years. Consider cutting off the filter material and measuring the square inches of it. The pleat count does not automatically mean the filtering area is larger, it depends on the depth of each pleat. The information on the gaskets and flow holes was very interesting. It looks like the wix xp has larger flow holes than their racing filter. Clearly the Fram takes it there. Thanks for the review.

      Good information. I would like to do some more reviews. I do think cutting off the filter material and measuring the length would be a good why to get a better understanding of the total amount of filtering material. Thanks for the info!

    I know it's an overkill but can I install a racing oil filter in a street car? I like the idea of a strong well constructed and large capacity filtering element.

      Absolutely. I run a twin Fram racing HP1 filter on my daily driven ctsv

    Wix is so good it doesn't need "up grade" like Fram ..cut open a regular Fram and compare the two Frams...I'll give it to the Fram racing filter it does look good

      Yeah very true. I'm looked inside a standard fram in the past and it was junk.

    A couple of guys that don't know as much as they would have you believe. If FRAM is so good how come they make the biggest pile of trash when it comes to OEM replacements?

      Thats honestly a good question. I have taken the factory replacement fram apart and they are junk. I was impressed with the Fram racing though.

    Who the hell is running 100 psi???

    • @theautoanswerman8063
      @theautoanswerman8063  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the question. Most high pressure oil pumps can run that high. The one in my CTS-V is about 85psi and that's just a street car.

      @@theautoanswerman8063 interesting. I suppose it's a thing. Just never experienced it. Even my drag car is only about 65.

      @@GLF426 Yeah some guys will run high pressure. I guess a good rule of thumb from what most people go off is 10 PSI per thousand RPM. but I do know if you're running coated bearings then you have to be careful of high pressures cuz it could wash the coating off the bearing. I've never experienced it but I've heard stories of that.
