Good idea on not adjusting the fueling to compensate for the methanol.
Methanol in a v8 has poor distribution when sprayed from 1 or 2 nozzles in the intake tract, but it makes the afr very rich. So when we calibrated fueling, we have to pull a ton of fuel out if spraying 70+% meth but that is very dangerous as our Afr data is from an average of 1 bank or both.
So one or more cylinders could be dangerously "under methed" and now we are removing fueling globally, scary situation with meth.
I remember tuning an LSA without meth to an 0.78 Lambda. After the meth spray with a large single nozzle, afr went down to 0.67 lambda or so, insanely rich. Then I proceeded to remove fuel from the calibration to satisfy 0.78-0.8 lambda but was quite worried in case meth failed or if we have a distribution problem even with a properly working system.
Customer went down to a 50% meth mix so we didn't have to worry about removing fuel.
Seems like the less cylinders an engine has, the better the distribution of meth goes to all cylinders when sprayed from an intake-tract nozzle.

@@GTStuning- Especially with a stock intake. LS motors are known for going lean on the rear cylinders.

Nice find on that plug!! Sometimes we all get a little tunnel vision trying to find a problem and we need people to kick us back to the basics lol great video keep em coming

I can't get this to work on my LS1 swap. It's misfiring but always says zero. The SES is enabled for the misfire codes.

Your not able to log the miss fire with HP tuners? What ECU is it?

@vtecbrown did you tune it to be less sensitive for misfires? Sometimes a big cam will make the ecu think its misfiring and they will change the parameters in the tune

@@theautoanswerman8063 it's a stock LS1. Stock cam, intake, injectors, coils, etc.. I'm definitely missing something, just not sure what.

You were 2nd. Growing up the saying used to be "first the worst, second the best" but then ol Ricky Bobby came along with "if you ain't first you're last"
