No not at all. Everything is sealed up good. I've drove through deep water even and it stayed dry.

@vtecbrown did you tune it to be less sensitive for misfires? Sometimes a big cam will make the ecu think its misfiring and they will change the parameters in the tune

@@theautoanswerman8063 it's a stock LS1. Stock cam, intake, injectors, coils, etc.. I'm definitely missing something, just not sure what.

@@vtecbrown let me do some digging. I have a 2005 ctsv with the same ECU. I'll see if it works

I think you can run 5w40 without any problems. This thicker Viscosity oil will increase pressure but flow through the engine slower. Do you see the oil pressure dropping below normal ranges when hot?

I used a cut off wheel.

Actually oil needs to get up to 212 to start to boil off any condensation. 100 is too cold for daily driving.

@@chippyjohn1 you must be thinking of Celsius. In America we use Fahrenheit so that's what I'm referencing what I'm talking about temperatures

This is a T5 from a firebird. Bolts right up to a 3800.

Hey thanks for the input. I found 2 cracked spark plugs. Once I replaced those it ran great and still does.

@@theautoanswerman8063 that makes sense. in this video you said the spark plugs were new and good so I was just thinking of another way that misfires could be happening. glad you figured it out. and look at that it was a mechanical problem

@@MrChris7582 yes they were new but the cast manifold would it would get hot it would expand just enough to push against the spark plug and crack it I had to take a die grinder and Port around the spark plug hole where the manifold was. If that makes sense

Hi Gerald thanks for the interest. The system turned out great. Shortly after on the first test hit (not filming) the motor cracked a piston. The motor must have been hurt from before since the tune up was very soft. I haven't had a chance to get the motor fixed due to putting all my money's into getting married. I should have an update with the motor build in the near future.

I did it as cheap as possible for the most part. I think total including gages and hoses I'm about $3000 into it. Installing the turbo manifold was actually pretty easy and only took a few hours. Same with the turbo old lines, I used the dirty dingo kit for the oil feed then just welding a AN-10 fitting into the timing cover for the drain. Taking the timing cover off was the most time consuming.

It has the stock flex fuel pump which the 340lph and ID1050x injectors. I made a few adjustments in the tune and hold the pretty constant pressure only fluctuating about 5 PSI during wide open throttle pull but now that I'm on E85 it starts to drop pressure with a 10 psi boost pull but if I keep the Boost around 6 PSI it stays consistent

I'm guessing your a 2018? That's a direct injected motor. Have you tuned the high pressure pump? Are you tuning with hp tuner?

How are you tuning it? Are you logging knock and AFR?

We're out of Sacramento CA. And yeah the ford 2.3 motor came in the second generation courier. It's almost a bolt in swap. And there's a big aftermarket for those motors. The 3800 series 2 from the 4 gen Camaro worked out really easy as well.

Thats awesome that you are now a proud owner of a Courier. As Jake said we are located in Sacramento CA. It would be cool to meet up and have a cruise or something. I think one tip I could give is to go with a Holley ECU over the factory one.

Thats honestly a good question. I have taken the factory replacement fram apart and they are junk. I was impressed with the Fram racing though.

Thats great. The original motor he built for this was a 2.3t but he decided to put it in his MG.

Yeah very true. I'm looked inside a standard fram in the past and it was junk.

Great question. After the tune we picked up around 2 mpg but we are having an injector issue. We think its either leaking or a bad spray pattern. We have new ID 1050x coming and ill make a video on that.
