    The speed reading info is great! You break that down for some of us that have not understood speed reading and trying to understand everything. I started learning speed reading a couple years ago, and finally understood not to read Every word and Absorb every word. You can skim through and then see the key things to pick up on.

    Hi Manny, I'm planning to start WGU by March first and I'm going for CS degree because my goal is to become a Data Scientist. Since you are a data expert what is you recommendation to me is the CS road is the best or the data analyst to become a data scientist?

    • @DataManny
      @DataManny  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely a data analyst degree will serve you better for the data scientist route. I would say for data science you would need to pursue more statistics above the degree. Once you get the data analyst degree topping it off with a few data science certs will give you more of an emphasis to call yourself a data scientist. That said, a data scientist varies from job to job. So it all depends specifically what field are you going into (utilities, medical, etc...)

    • @DataManny

      Nm . You would need to get in contact with your course mentor and discuss it. I failed a few and I just basically emailed them, advised them I would study the parts flagged as deficient, and they just unlocked it for me to retake

    Hello! I have been in Desktop Support/ Helpdesk support for 15 years now. I am ready to move on to something new. I have been looking at Data Management myself at WGU. What advice do you have in mind for someone starting off in Data Management?

    • @DataManny
      @DataManny  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey David. That's a great career path. What I've found for Data Management, having a strong IT background is helpful, but having a business understanding is equally if not more important . I think your Help desk background will serve you great to get started on the degree and some of the courses (like the Network+) will directly take advantage of your help desk experience.

    Seeing your facebook posts on WGU Accelerators IIRC have been a huge motivation for me. Your tips have also been the best ones i have received so far, but I do have one question. What do you do for certificate preperation? I understand the speed reading process would work there too, but for classes like C846 (ITIL Foundations) there was no PA or module tests that were challenging. How do you go about practice tests for those types of classes?

    • @DataManny
      @DataManny  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      For the ITIL I used the same technique, but instead of a PA, I used practice tests online. Specifically, there is an ITIL app for about 4-5 bucks a month that gives you practice tests. Hope this helps and thank you so much for watching my video

    I’ve been reading people complaining about videos/posts like this in the WGU communities.. They say it lowers the value of the degree as outsiders will See it as a lower not serious degree. Mostly because the title don’t offer the experience and everything that went into graduating in 6 months..

    • @DataManny
