Today I'm going to talk to you guys about the steps to take after you finish your last class at WGU. In this video I take you through a six step process involving the actions that you need to take as soon as you finish your last class. I made he mistake of waiting a few days for my mentor to reach out to me. Its important to be proactive versus reactive in that regard. I am excited that I finally finished my degree at Western Governors University and I just wanted to make sure that no one is confused about what steps to take in order for you to receive your diploma from WGU.

Congrats, Brother Tre! I ignored the instruction in the title & clicked to watch anyway. 😂 I have 5 classes left & expected to finish by month-end (I'm accelerating), but work-life didn't make it happen. You're right. I didn't quit or take a break. I accepted that I *only* have 5 classes left, which meant that I passed a LOT of others already. Senioritis is real. LOL! I can't wait to get my WGU confetti!
My perspective is the self-paced learning platform isn't for everyone. Acceleration isn't for everyone. As you said, it really is about personal lifestyle and choice. I'm in awe of parents, like you, who had to crush classes and learn alongside their children. I have no Littles, but work was/is worse than a toddler at times. 😝
To any Business majors who find this comment: take your time & go at a pace that is comfortable for YOU. There are so many ways to pivot once you earn your degree and so many avenues to pursue. But, you have to finish to find the rest of the roadmap. Stay the course & you'll be fine.

You are absolutely right, work can be very hectic sometimes...That is some great advice that you are giving out to the people. Everyone should just focus on their situation and go at their own pace. HOOAHH! Man im so happy people like you post! I got out with nothing but a story and a messed up body!
Started my degree in business administration, and got my va stuff in order! Started VR&E and have a OA to take in 10 minutes.
But man you’re totally right! I got 86 credits left to get my degree and if there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that one a class is over it’s on to the next one.
I know a lot of people downplay the WGU MBA but that’s my next stop when I’m done with all my credits! I genuinely think atleast outside of the certification degrees there is no reason to finish a class at WGU in less that 20 days. So if my math is straight, 6 months is 182 days in that so my goal was 9 classes!
In 6 months I got 49 credits so that’s 17 classes so far!
Y’all can do this! And for those struggling y’all gotta get on your purpose man! This school stuff ain’t that hard! You gotta want it! 🎉 congrats on your degree

I’m so damn close on mine. Got cloud security and capstone and I’m done. Just wanted to tell you a couple things.
1. Thank you for these videos. They’ve helped me along the entire journey.
2. Best thing about WGU is it takes care of the certs vs degrees argument with the best answer (Why not both)
And lastly, you can always tell when someone had either siblings or friends growing up that played NES with them by the Konami code. If they say “Select Start” they did. If they just say Start…not so much. Select Start was the version that gave both players 30 lives.

I passed my last class on Friday (9/29/23)! (Bachelors -Accounting). I’ll be returning for my Masters in 6 months. Normally I speak with my mentor biweekly, however once I passed I noticed everything only said “complete” and not “graduated “. That realization lead me to schedule an appointment with her… I’ll be speaking with her 6:30 on my way to work tomorrow! 😂 Thank you for your video! Congrats Tre!! Well deserved. I'm also a WGU student going in to hopefully my last term before I finish. I have been following your journey and your commitment and videos have inspired me and continued to motive me to stay focused on the mission at hand. As an working professional, I have earned technical certs in the past that have gotten me call backs for interviews and have landed some decent technical roles in some good companies. The goal for me once I get the degree, I'll have that as well as the certs which I feel opens job doors for higher positions to lead teams of engineers or PM's, etc. Best of luck with the .mil career and whatever life blesses you with after. My program was not Cisco specific so that be a change since then. I did have to get the CCNA thought.
