- The Devilbiss Tekna Gti Pro Lite or Pro Lite as it's now called is one of the easiest spray guns to use with a huge choice of caps, in this video we use the TE10 cap, probably the best overall cap if your just using one cap.
Thanks for watching everyone. It really is appreciated 👍

Te10,te20,te25,t110,hv20,hv30 are all the caps in my arsenal
I haven’t ever shot base with the te10 but i will definitely check it out for science purposes🤣🤣 bought the te10 cap when I was painting big rigs with a million rivets in them. Very nice cap for a rivet party🤣 the original tekna prolite versus the prolite -tekna wins but only those who have a tekna will know the minuet differences🤘
Hi Mate, you sound as bad as me with all those caps 😂, cheers ✌️
@@peteshobbies5383 I have 6 tekna’s and 1 prolite that are my main workhorses
I don’t cross contaminate guns, they each have their roll. All the other guns are for entertainment 🤣🤘🤘
@lukeowens3544 🤣😂😁
@@peteshobbies5383 I tried the te10 cap today…. Man it lays down nice but it’s a greedy hog when it comes to base🤣🤣 I switched back to the hv30 once I got the color match because I was afraid I would run out of color using the te10🤣🤘🤘
@lukeowens3544 Hi Luke, that is the advantage of HVLP. It does save materials at the expense of air 😁
Hello Sir, there are all kinds of changes you can make with that gun, very versatile. Something I noticed is that the TE 10 cap uses quite a bit less air than the 20. It has helped me to use it with my small compressor. At the boatyard, I switch to the TE20. Great information as always Sir, thank you. Cheers
Hi Bryan, You are 100% right sir, the TE10 uses around 10cfm, the TE20 is around 13cfm, so 30% more, cheers mate, looks like your keeping busy 👍
I bought one of these guns based on your reviews and a few others. Everyone seems to like it. Mine came with the te10 and te20. I've sprayed a lot of cabinets, but I'm still a novice on cars.
Hi Mate, With the two caps you have, you have all you'll ever need, very adaptable to lots of different tasks and materials 👍
Great gun , I can't tell the difference between using the te10 and the t110 if I'm being honest 😳 .
Hi Andrew, Yes, I find the two perform virtually identical for clear coat, base coat I prefer the TE10, the air horns are slightly shorter on the T110 so I'm not sure if that affects basecoat but it just seems a little dry, that's full fluid with a 1.2, it's perfectly usable but not as universal as the TE10 IMHO, cheers mate 👍
Cracking video 📹 pete I have this gun 🔫 from Spray guns direct not a cheap Chinese copy a genuine devibliss gti pro lite 1.3 brilliant gun easy to use and you can change the cap from base coat paint to clear coat paint 😊get a decent gun by a top brand thats gonna last 😊😊
Hi Andrew, Very good guns mate and very easy to use 👍
My favorite clear cap is the T110 with 1.2 I use the T10 for base. The pro lite is a work horse you can set it up for so many different applications.
Hi Mate, Yes, that's exactly what I think, If someone wants a quality gun that is hugely customisable, reliable, and not a super high price, you can't go wrong with one of these, cheers Tim 👍
Pete, the few times I do spray I tend to use the TE10 for base - and now I have it - the HV30 for clear just to cut down on the fog a little bit. It helps that I have an 18.5cfm compressor though.
Hi Ken, As you'll know, the HV30 uses huge amounts of air, around 17 cfm. In fact, the TE10 is round about 10 cfm, so much more user-friendly 😉
Good video Pete the te10 seem like it was less over spray
Hi Gregory, Yes, if it flows less air, around 3 cfm less at 10cfm, so it certainly has less overspray, thanks, mate. I appreciate it 👍
The one gun and cap on my wishlist
Hi Boss, these are getting on a bit now, as you'll know, but a great gun that's very adaptable, 5 different caps and something like 9 different tip sizes, and very easy to use and set up, everything in very linear so small increments or decrements don't surprise the user.
I don't use mine as much as I should, but it always puts a smile on my face when I do, cheers mate 👍
Funny you said right off that bat that the video quality was you. I was damn is my computer set on 360p or something I was already trying to change it lol.
Yeah, it's a few years ago on my old camera, I'm sure TH-cam clipped the quality down as well. Sorry about that 👍
Knew you'd get round to showing that old stalwart Pete does a lovely job and I cant fault it and I confess use it on a regular basis when I'm at my place of work so thanks for showing what that gun can do 👏👏
Hi Dean, It's always worth a visit to this old tool, mate, I don't use it as much as I should these days, but it's always a pleasure when I do 😁
Hope you're well, mate, and not overdoing the work time 👍
@@peteshobbies5383 not there much now Pete still on the books as I've a couple of things I need to get out of the way and that's it retirement beckons 😉
@deanbrown7643 Well, as long as it suits you, mate 👍
@@peteshobbies5383 suits me fine Pete needed on Friday 5th july to do a job and I've said ok to that which I dont mind the bandit job turned out awesome and still in the process of making a decent video to post on my channel but Cecil be demill I'm not got to master the walk around but I'll get it not that tech minded mate can paint anything but film it ? 🤯🤯😝
@deanbrown7643 😂🤣
Pete, great video Sir. I have this gun & i must get it out again. What tip were you useing? What i would say is trial it with the HV25 (TE25), using a good clear! Uses less pressure & would it produce less fog?? 🤔 Cheers, Steve 👍
Hi Steve, This was a 1.2 tip, I've literally used the TE25 cap a couple of times for basecoat as I only got it a little while ago.
I will get around to using it for clear coat and do a video so we can see.
It's quite slow, as you would expect as it uses little air and is HVLP , we shall see
@@peteshobbies5383 Ok Pete, cool! I have seen a youtuber, use the HV25 for clear, & it did produce a very good finish with clear. Was using 25psi, with not alot of fog!
As you know, this gun can be used with a fair few different combinations! A very versatile spray gun! Cheers. Steve 👍
@srodgie Yes, absolutely, there are lots of tip sizes and caps, so there are plenty of combinations
Hi Pete, well you kept that one quiet I had no idea that there is a carbon version of the ProLite coming out do you have any pics or links for it mate🤔
Superb finish from the TE10 you can see that it's slower and you are closer to the panel with this cap, I have used this for clear and as you say it's really good but it feels slower than the T110 which is what I always use, I have a soft spot for this gun as it was my first full size gun and I cut my teeth on it as I had just started out learning this crazy hobby😬😏
Have you tried the T110 for base Pete? I can't remember trying it but I would have thought it should be a good basecoat cap🤔 ok cheers Pete👍
Hi John, Yeah, they are making a few carbon guns, this, the GPG, and the Advance HD, I think 🤔 😉
I have tried the T110 for base. It was OK but didn't seem as nice as the TE10. They are very similar. It's just that the T110 has shorter air horns.
Hi Pete! Did you ever use Upol's Maximum clearcoat?
Hi Mate, I've used it once. A mate gave me some, and it does seem better than the 2080. it seems to flow better.
There was an offer on 2080 that was too good to miss, so I bought 10 x 7.5lt kits, I have 2 kits left, when it's gone it's probably get the max kit as a cheap clear
Pete if you were gonna spend the money on a high end gun.Would this be it? I do not have a Devilbiss in my inventory.I am an Iwata fanboy,But i am looking for a new higher end all arounder.
Hi Mate, What Iwata or Iwatas do you have ?
@@peteshobbies5383 RG3,LPH80,W101's,Kiwamis.I only do bikes so tend to stick to the smaller needle guns. Are you still sold on the Iwata Wider1 E1 as a better lph80?
@MickE98 Hi Mate, I would say yes then to your original question. The Devilbiss is a very good gun and really universal with all the different caps and tips available.
The Wider1L is a great gun, but judging by what you have won't really make more options available for you, whereas the Devilbiss opens up a different world as it's a full-size gun , hope that helps
If you decide to sell it, id sure like the first crack at it. Thanks Pete
Hi David, I do fancy a carbon one. Half of me is saying you don't need one, and half is saying I want one 😂 , not sure who will win yet 🤔
@peteshobbies5383 I'm with you Pete. I just took delivery of the iwata ws400 Lotus Edition
Very nice indeed 👌
Pete I need some help what would cause my Devilbiss pro lite with a 1.2 fluid and T110 air cap with disposable paint cup spraying Acme FC720/ slow activator to seem to lose its prime when spray I let off the trigger and go back at it and it picks back up. I’ll make a pass and get maybe 16” and it loses its prime re squeeze the trigger it will pick it back up then do it again. My fluid is set one turn in from wide open , fan is 1/2 to 3/4 turn in from full width , air at 28.5 PSI . Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks for your videos it was you and the Gun Man that helped me make the decision to buy the Pro lite!
Hi Tim, A few questions. Have you had the gun from new? , is it always cleaned immediately after use, particularly when it been used for clear coats? or at least had reducer/thinners run through it straight afte ti to clean itr? , is the fan pattern even, not top or bottom heavy?
@@peteshobbies5383 yes I clean it between coats . My fan has always been a little light in the middle, I’m wondering if I use my cup instead of the D cup maybe the screen is to fine. My garage booth has been between 80- 90 F I’m redoing 5 percent.
@@peteshobbies5383 yes I bought it new from Eastwood.
If it was new and you kept it clean, I would certainly try using the Devilbiss cup, I doubt the clear is too thick for the filter but I think maybe the cup isn't collapsing like it should.
You would get the same problem with a standard cup that has the air holes blocked at the top.
You should find the fan even up as well, at the settings you are using the fan shouldn't be dryer in the middle, if everything is clean, that would normally mean too high a pressure of very thin material, either of which I don't think you have by the sounds of it.
Let me know how you get on ✌️
@@peteshobbies5383 Thank you!
I was thinking Bout buying this gun with this aircap, I'm used to smaller guns like the DV1s and prolite s, how would this gun be with a 100ltr compressor with 14.9 CFM? Would the compressor keep up with the gun okay?
Thanks
Hi Daryl, Yes, mate, one of the good things about the TE10 is its air consumption. It's around 10 cfm, so less than many. It's an idea setup to progress to the mini guns. It will run fine from your setup 👍
@@peteshobbies5383 thanks mate, much appreciated
@darylhuth9652 You're welcome, buddy 👍
Hey Pete, wondering if I could get some help with an air leak from my GTI pro lite
Recently replaced the air valve, spray head seal and packing nut but it’s leaking from the packing nut when the trigger isn’t pulled.
When I pull the trigger it sprays as normal.
Any ideas as to how to fix it?
Thanks
Hi mate, what are you referring to as the packing nut, the one that seals the needle where it enters the head of the gun ?, number 12 on this diagram,
www.spraygunsdirect.co.uk/devilbiss-gti-pro-lite-spray-gun-parts-breakdown/
@@peteshobbies5383 yeah that’s correct, number 12 in the diagram
If it's leaking without the trigger being pulled, it sounds like the seal in the air valve isn't in right, I'm presuming it's a new one that came with kit
@@peteshobbies5383 Yes, the kit came with 2 new seals, I’ve put them in the way the instructions have said. Even tried other different positions but still leaks
@Houang0 It's the inner seal that is causing the problem, is it the right way round? It's a while since I did one but if the seal is a U shape, the two points of the U face away from the front of the gun if that makes sense
Pete there's so many copy's out there of this great gun a new person should be aware when buying one I'm sure you know of this but maybe somebody reading the comments would be helpful to know to the real from the fake
Hi Mate, Very true. Here's a video I made a few years ago that explains the differences between fake and real.
th-cam.com/video/tkGc3G9g_G4/w-d-xo.html
Once you know the differences, it is possible to buy confidently, but yes, buyers need to keep their eyes open
Don't sell it Pete! The world will stop revolving if you get below 50 spray guns.
Well, I had thought about that mate, so I probably won't 🤣
