ABOUT CARPOOL:
Carpool is an online show hosted by Robert Llewellyn (Red Dwarf, Scrapheap Challenge, Fully Charged), who gives a wide variety of passengers a lift in a hybrid or electric car and they talk. It's as simple as that. Previous guests include Stephen Fry, David Mitchell, Charlieissocoolike and Jim Jeffries.
You care about your show so much. I think that's what makes it one of the best on the internet.
I'm lying of course.
It IS the best. :)
Good luck with Red Dwarf! :D
How far you have both come in the intervening years!
He needs to sue Jerry Seinfeld's ass.
I lost my copy of Thin He Was and Filthy-Haired on an airplane. I'm looking for a new copy, because I was really liking it. So if you're ever in America, maybe you could drop one off for me.
I only discovered this channel today. I love the show I wish I'd known it existed a couple of years ago.
@Azyashi I could have been more explicit about this but I was trying to be diplomatic. It was a very mutual parting of the ways, I was supported in the mutual parting by the sponsors and the PR companies involved, so in all honesty, no, Dave did not 'drop' carpool. Carpool drove away with a friendly wave. :-)
What I love about this show is the relaxed nature of it and the real conversation that comes out of it. You get so much more from these interesting people than the typical Q+A in a tv studio interview. Can't wait to see more!
Carpool is one of those ideas that doesn't bennifit from in your face commercialisation imo, it's much better with that "hobby" feel. It's not about production values, it's about content.
Good luck, and make sure those long bolts go deep, deep into the floor
Excellent news about the return to web-only. I always felt there was something slightly odd about watching the Edited Highlights version of Carpool interviews on Dave. Good as they were, they just weren't the same (even if they were probably technically superior).
I have to say that I do love Carpool, but simply cannot wait for new Red Dwarf and I'm not even sure how we're going to get RD in the states yet. Krytus Maximus!
HOW DID I NOT HERE ABOUT MORE RED DWARF omg this is brilliant
Being an American I don't get Dave anyway and I love your witty conversations, definitely can't wait for your return, keep up the GREAT WORK!!!
You should record an episode in the Kryton costume with the cast of Red Dwarf with you, that would be awesome XD
Channel Flip provide us with the excellent David Mitchell's Soapbox (and Robert's own Machine of the Week Report), so I heartily approve.
I mean I really was liking it, but I know you can't just be dropping books off to strangers.
Enjoy your break Bob. Doesn't sound like much of a break though. Cant wait for your return.
Thanks for the info. Look forward to the new Carpool videos and Red Dwarf.
Thanks for all of these Robert. I quite agree with the direction carpool is taking.
Every upload of yours is excellent viewing, at least once, and has depleted my sleep account
I haven't watched a carpool for ages, looking forward to its return :-)
I have been loving the Carpool chats. Only found out via Dave so have been going back over some of your original stuff. Great to have put them together yourself. I know how fiddly editing can be and the episodes are a joy to watch. So thanks for making the show. PS Loving the new series of Red Dwarf!
Congrats, Robert! You've gone an extraordinarily long way. I'm really very happy for you. :)
Hey Robert! I've only recently discovered this TH-cam channel and have now watched all the videos on there. I love this idea and the way that your guests seem to feel more at ease chatting in your car rather than sitting in a TV studio. But I'm wondering if there are going to be any more of these - or are new ones available elsewhere? Please keep up the good work!
Hmm turned into slightly more than a short gap didn't it. I'm hopeful that you've just been so busy with other projects you haven't had the time to get those guests, you had dates for, up online. But then if you're with Channel Flip wouldn't they take care of all the editing and viral advertising?
Either way looking forward to seeing more of Carpool and really looking forward to seeing the new series of Red Dwarf in August.
Of all the various interview/chat-show type programs I've seen, Carpool is by far the best and my favorite. I've watched every single one of them that you've put on TH-cam several times and really, really look forward to some more, however long that may take! =)
(just joshing)
Robert, thank you for all the effort, I am a Brit living in Canada and watching things from home is lovely, can't wait to move back next year!
You know what would be good for Red Dwarf? Bugger all budget. Video cameras at 50hz, cramped minimal studio sets, no in show music, minimal effects. Just brilliant stories and dialogue which made most of the original so entertaining. The only possible budget that should be spent is getting a live audience and as much of the original writers/actors as possible. Don't try and make it a hollywood action/comedy blockbuster and it'll be great :)
Thank you Mr. Llewellyn for your wonderful shows. Enjoy your break, and good luck with the new series and 'Red Dwarf' too. I see you keep Isa Brown chickens as well, I have three of them. They're the friendliest of chooks. Cheerio from Down Under.
Just wanted to say thank you from Canada. I've enjoyed them, fantastic series.
+Robert - So, erm, when's CarPool coming back?
I'm planning on spamming my friends' Google+ and Facebook streams with CarPool best-ofs, but it would be much better if there were some new episodes to coincide with my social media blitz
So many years have passed and still no new Carpool. Sulk. But I hear there's more Red Dwarf on the way to distract me :D
To be honest, I liked the early shows much more than the Dave episodes. I was a bit let down with them because it felt somewhat like a sellout. Of course, it helped the show reach a wider audience, but it lost some of that "home made" flavour that it had.
So I'm actually looking forward to the new series, and hope it will bring back that "I made it all in my shed" feel. Enjoy your vacation Rob.
A break? You don't get to have a break!!! Back to the salt mines immediately!
Good to see that regular Carpools are back online. Did they ever go? I got lost when they hit the Telly and the Llewtube vids dried up. I've got to try and figure out which ones I've seen and where to start watching them from now.
Anyway, good news. Looking forward to it all.
Thanks Toyota for helping to support such a great show.
YOU'RE DOING RED DWARF IN NOVEMBER?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!! YYYIIPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
Best of luck with Carpool. Love it :)
how about hosting it online as an online podcast/TV show? still the same format, same friendly and epic presenter, with varied and interesting UK and even US guests on but MAYBE more renown ones? i think you would probably get as big of an audience as you got on Dave, online if it happened :-)
Look forward to it! I watch them for you too, not just the guests.
Well, I said bandwidth limit and no new carpool :) Could I possibly suggest Dara O'Briain, Eddie Izzard, Paul Merton or Ian Hislop?
Anyway thanks for all those uploads. I'm actually glad about Dave as I have no possibility to watch it, being from Poland.
I'm rather excited. I doubt you will have but book Hattie Hayridge again. Please. She's the best guest you've had by a mile. She's awesome, i'd marry her if i could find her. Ha... ;p
@soundslave No, he said he'd back before one could say "bandwidth limit". The only thing worse than a bad joke is having to explain it. ;-)
Bandwidth limit...damn. Bandwidth limit...damn. Bandwidth limit....well, alrighty then, hurry back. Thanks from Canada.
@carpoolUK llewellyn, always keepin it real. Richard Dawkins would be a very interesting passenger.
Hi Robert. Are you going to start this channel back up?
interview jack black PLESE
One of these days you should record and ep where you just drive around and talk to yourself.
Are any of your American CarPools going to be in NYC? That would be fun.
SSQQUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! Red Dwarf wins :D
So what happened? Did the idea get flogged-off?
It's been 4 months since the last upload, what's up, man?
Rik Mayall next please Robert. C'mon! =)
Hmm.. thought there would be more people watching this on youtube..
Anyway, love the show, and hope you'll get new episodes soon.
Oh, I really liked Red Dwarf too.. a while ago.. Who were you..? I don't think I remember your face...
So I guess they haven't come up on TH-cam.

Upstaged by a chicken!
So, it's nearly 2 years later, and there are still no new Carpool episodes. What's gone wrong?
MOAR NAO
Good for you :)
karl pilkington please rob! i know i know, i keep going on about it.
We will wait patiently for your return~
Aww. But yay at the same time. I'm feeling ambivalence ;D
Robert,,, Hard work seems to be your middle name :)
Thanks for everything! I'm very excited :D Haha
This weeks interview, Robert Llewellyn. :D
Love this! Please come to Canada!
:( where are you?
Please come to Australia
Perhaps he crashed his car staring into the f'ing camera lens and not having his eyes on the road.
At least he has the cameras fixed and generally doesn't stare into the lens BUT it's a very stupid thing to do IMHO and it makes you a dangerous driver by virtue.
I wonder in the 5 years that have passed since you made this comment you're less a boring twat?
