I've always thought that Law would die using the immortality ability but not like most people. I think he will undo the immortality that was given to someone in the past and it will cost his life.
When it comes to Law: I would rather Oda, not to go the sacrifical route... by doing something else most fans would not expect. Plus I also would like to see him being able to live the long and happy life Rosinante and most likely also his family wanted for him.
@@joyboy6535 Whatever. If you like to believe vie that you are free to do so. I only said what I would perfer which loosely put here above. However in the end Oda will do whatever Oda will do. And I would would perfer a more creative written and more original twist as I know Oda CAN WRITE.
@@Elisabeht-Swan Luffy dying in the final fight isn’t bad writing when his death been foreshadowed thro out the whole series. Rosinate died for Law so him dying for Luffy is the best that can happen tbh. then again ODA is trash at killing off characters so Law might just survive the immortality move🤣
I think Law wouldn't make someone else immortal BUT will sacrifice his life to remove the surgery on someone else. This is assuming the surgery can be removed and would require life sacrifice of course.
I do agree with this theory. If Im IS Immortal then It'd be kinda hard to satisfyingly have them be beaten and I'd say that a major part of the fanbase believe that Law Is going to die cause his character arc Is kinda coming to an end. The thing is there's no reason why he has to die In Wano or anytime soon, he could die at the theorized final fight between the protagonists against Im and he could sacrifice himself to give them a chance to win. That way, Im's defeat will be convincing and the ultimate power of the Ope ope no mi will actually factor Into the story, win win.
@@bishu_bishu yeah pretty much how i see it too. Law wants to learn about the true history and the meaning of the D now. i can see him learning it and going after imu and having to sactifice himself to remove the surgery on him to have luffy kick his ass. Law isn't gonna die till we learn what D means
Seems like a waste. It's a DF power, that means it can be blocked by Haki. If he is strong enough to bypass that, he can just use his power to separate the immortal dude into a bunch of pieces and sink them to the ocean floor at different locations. Immortaility won't help you recover from that.
Given how much Luffy has reduced his own life span (including whether the life reducing effects still occur with Gear 2) I could imagine Luffy will be hit with life ending illness that maybe Traf might offer the immortality to him, but if we know Luffy he would probably reject it not wanting Traf to sacrifice his life for Luffy's as we know Luffy from the beginning already bet his life: "If I die trying at least I tried"
nah about the gear two he doesn't look completely exhausted after using it anymore and we def gotta assume that it doesn't shave his life anymore especially with his life being halved after being posioned and saved in impel that would just wouldn't make sense in general if oda halved his life to keep shrinking it everytime he uses it
@@rayquan777765555344 I'm not thinking like it takes off like HOURS of his life the longer he uses it, perhaps minutes and sure he seems to have better control of it but the whole point of Gear 2 is that he is pushing his body to limits he can't do in base form (as he hasn't got the skill/training to master Soru) so it does put some amount of strain on his body. And how would reducing his life to almost life ending amounts not make sense? Even the pirate Gol D Roger, despite how powerful he was, was struck with a life ending illness that cut his life short. He was only in his 50s when people in One Piece can live to 140 (which means at most, if Luffy's remaining life is cut in half, Luffy will live to be more or less in his 60s).
@@rayquan777765555344 his life was not halved in impel down only 10 years life span was what ivankov said and luffy can use gear 2 and still be stable now and considering the amount of life span in op is abnormal people live upto 150 180 easily so I think luffy will easily survive for Long
I think that Hakuba's eyes are more proof for the immortality theory. These eyes seem to be present in things that have lived for vasts amounts of time. Hakuba might be an entity like that.
Originally I was against immortality but idk I think I’d take it now. As long as I could be killed I’d be ok with it. Gotta have an exit strategy. That’s aside tho the amount of time you’d have at your disposal immediately becomes worth it. No longer bound to the average lifespan you could start laying century long plans to help guide the world.
I've always thought that immortality would be a very boring existence, however I would at least like to try it, there would be an endless amount of things I could do and I could even see all of the fantastic cosmic events that eventually will take place that all of us will never see. The only thing I may regret would be the fact that others in my life would always pass and I'd still be there, possibly even forgetting a lot of those people.
Surely brook is the most immortal, as it shouldn't matter how much damage his body takes, he can just leave it. I imagine he can inhabit anything he wants (unless it has a soul)
I've never thought about it but how did people find out Ope-Ope could even give immortality, I don't think they just KNEW it gave immortality, someone had to had used it to find out, meaning that there is possibility of a secret character that was made immortal from the fruit.
Brook (Yomi Yomi No Mi) could also be immortal. He has had the strongest case so far. He has died *for sure* once. But his soul has left his body plenty of other times and then come back to it. Probably the only way for him, and past Yomi Yomi No Mi eaters, to irrevocably die is to have their bodies destroyed, so there's nothing to come back to.
I know it’s such a basic answer but I’ve always hated the idea of immortality because losing everyone you care about while you keep staying alive and forming new relationships taxing. Also I think there’s something special about having a life not knowing when it will end, to try make the most of it.
I personally hold to the "Chekov's" Fruit theory because I think it's Im who had the surgery performed on him most recently, and that's the reason it was revealed. And I also would prefer if Law did not die...lol I like the theory for Kureha being a receiver of the surgery as well - it makes a lot of sense!
@@LuffyxNamiisathing who said that she is still aging? there is this theory that she always looked old, even when she was like 20 years old. she received the operation and now she is young/old/immortal.
I think the double eye means someone has two souls in them like big mom when she combined her sword and Prometheus the sword had two eyes but when they separated it went back to one eye or like hakuba he has two souls so he got the double eye and when big mom combined Prometheus with herself she got double eyes
Honestly I love the eye theory and hate that Cavendish has been seen with those eyes before. Mihawk being immortal is not outlandish as he is the greatest swordsman and while there's stronger opponents he just seems so bored. Something an immortal person whose only thing is being good with swords would be after a few hundred years. Besides we've never seen Mihawk as young and even Shanks looks to have somewhat aged comapred to him. EDIT: Maybe it is nitpicking but Cavendish eye design isn't exactly like the other two. The inner black line is thinner, but it isn't clear enough to just say that it dismisses Cavendish and therefore makes the rest more viable
@@chakradharbandaru9995 call me crazy, but Mihawk in that scene does not look much younger than he does now. He is already rocking the sideburns and if you put a beard and moustache on him, I probably couldn't tell the difference. If I recall right, that scene doesn't exist in the manga (anime exclusive), but it is a while since I read that scene. Admittingly Oda does help direct the anime, but this does leave room for discussion
I just had this thought: What if Kureha realised she was going to die and so performed the surgery on *herself*? That would mean she would lose her df as she technically died but would still be immortal. This would also explain her extreme medical knowledge as well as her seeming youthfulness. As for when she did it- probably not long before Diez Barrels acquired the fruit.
For me, Chopper might deserve to gain the immortality because he's a doctor and might be want to cure all kinds of disease in a good way. But the negativity of it was he can't turn other Straw Hats into "immortal" except Brook.
I honestly don’t think I could choose to be immortal. The stress of living forever is too much for one human. The emotional rollercoaster of gaining and losing people you love, basically being “alone” forever, and possibly if another mass extinction happens then you would just be alone, trapped in you thoughts and probably go mad with no way to end it! (Not sure if that was too much or too real but that’s where my brain went 🤷♂️ )
Actually not true at all. It's been proven that when one becomes far too old, they will no longer consider mortal relationships as from your perception, any and all mortal relationships will become meaning less. It's a complicated topic but, just to say it in brief, if you're 1000 years old, 50 years will be a blink of an eye for you. To you, someone that was friends with you for 50 years will equate to someone being friends with you for an hour or something. Their deaths won't matter to you, anymore.
@@somusircar4124 so that basically what I was getting at is that life becomes more meaningless. Humans are social people and we need some sort of company in life to stay sane but if you begin to have all of these disconnects from life then you could easily lose grip of reality and because you’re immortal then you’ll left to your own devices in a world size padded cell. Look at what happens when a couple who has been married for 60 years and one of the passes away. The other usually has a decline in health and passes away not too long after. I understand what you’re saying about the time comparison of 50 years not being as meaningful if you’re thousands of years old but it wouldn’t really be a “blink of an eye” since the immortal person is still living it out. There’s only so many things and possibilities to happen in life and at some point the immortal person would have “done it all”
@@somusircar4124 OMG this felt like forever (an eternity) ago haha I get what you’re saying after so long, attachments and companionships wouldn’t matter because of the length of time you’ve lived. I was definitely going from the stand point of myself right now and my feelings if someone said “I can make you immortal, do you want that”. Kind of like with how the story of Law and the Op-Op fruit ability might work. But yes after so many X amount of years, I do agree that it wouldn’t matter anymore, just the initial 100 or so years would be depressing haha or even being born immortal like Thor or something where material things don’t matter as much (unless it’s the MCU and he wanted his hammer back)
How are you not considering brooks fruit as a form of immortality? There’s been no stated duration for the length of his second life, it should be infinite if he doesn’t get broken
@@daveed3624 I think the fact that he has died kind of ruins the whole immortal thing though Can you describe someone that has died as being eternally alive?
I would choose immortality, especially if it's the eternal youth type. After watching Bicentennial Man decades ago I kinda understood the "value" of dying and the sorrows of having such a long lifespan, but I still think it can be a net positive situation. Also, since you're not impervious to anything except aging, it's almost impossible that you'll really live forever, things happen and you still can die anytime, I'd still have this feeling of limited time on Earth. Or maybe not and I'd turn into a daredevil doing stupid stuff and dying earlier than I would via old age. 🤷
I definently would, in theory, immortality just means you won't die of old age, so I don't really see any drawbacks. If it was like you could die, then it would have serious problems what with the impending loneliness, but with just not aging immortality, you just get to live as long as you can. And that's rad
If Mihawk were to be Im's relative or atleast someone who is willing to take Im's side during the final war, this would probably be when Zoro vs Mihawk will happen. If Mihawk won't get involve in any future events, let's say Elabf, vs Shanks arc, vs BB arc, laughtale arc and final war arc, then I can only see Zoro vs Mihawk happening is after all of those arcs over which technically means that their fight will be the final fight of the story or offscreen. If Mihawk will be on Im's side, their duel can happen in the final war. Luffy vs the strongest character in the verse; Im and Zoro vs the 2nd strongest character in the verse; Mihawk. These two being the top 2 is just a headcanon.
I would probably not choose to become immortal for several reasons: 1) I would have to change my identity fairly frequently to avoid suspicion. 2) I would struggle to form connections since I knew I would outlive them. 3) If the governments of the world discovered me, I can say goodbye to my freedom and hello to constant tests and potential dissections. 4) I would still inevitably die since it only eliminates one of the thousands of ways human beings can perish. And if I lived long enough, I would eventually have to suffer a more painful death when the sun expands, assuming we haven’t invented deep space travel.
Reasonable points but allow me this rebuttal: 1) I don't think that's too much of a hassle. Every couple decades or so you just move to somewhere to handle the documents and presto you're basically back to living the same just under another name and maybe address. 2) That's nonsense. You don't factor in mortality and life expectancy when you make friends so why now? Even if, you could look forward to 50 years or so of great friendships with each person you get along with or animals if you prefer pets. 3) I doubt they'll be as diabolic as the Tenryubito and slice you open given that that might as well kill you and leave them with nothing to further do research on. You could just have a suicide capsule at hand when push comes to shove. 4) If it's a cosmis death it'll be fast anyway. Supernova? Woosh, and no pain. Meteor? Woosh, and you're ripped to shreds before you have time to react. The really awful stuff would be getting crushed or stuck in the wild, left out to die from exposure IF that kills you. If not, it's just torture but then again, suicide pill.

I would want immortality, so I could learn and see how far humans and other creatures can progress over the countless eons. Also at the rate some manga and anime are going I'll need it to be able to see the endings.
@@moonondp4173 so your saying I get to meet vegapunk? but for real, nothing was said that others would know I was immortal. So as long as you keep a low profile (e.g. don't try and take over the world) and change you name or even just go off grid every few decades. then the likely hood someone would find out would be very very low.
It makes a lot of sense that Mihawk has some sort of immortality as he is the only one that was shown to have sea empror level power while not having a single crew member following him. If he has immortality then everyone following him would eventually die while he will stay alive. Out of all mysterious characters in OP, I think Mihawk is the one with the most interesting background/story.
I just noticed how Doflamingo wanted his brother Rosinante to have the fruit which probably means he will use his brother since he maybe found out he was going to be a trader or was going to turn his back and knew he was part of the marines which makes him suspicious about how his brother wasn't there with him since he was taken in by the navy. Which means Doflamingo must have wanted his brother to make him immortal. He is also known to know many secrets about the world because he was a celestial making have a lot of knowledge about the marines. The main antagonist which sits on the world chair is probably the one with immortality which the last user making them a marine doctor since Sengoku the Fleet Admiral showing that he might knew what the fruit was cable of which wanted it showing that what would he want with it in the trade which brings more questions like why did he want it? He probably wants to rebel and stop whoever is immortal so they won't threaten the world. This is a theory I made since I decided to see this on my xbox and instantly went to my computer to comment this I watch your videos keep up the work!
I would obviously become immortal, as for when the icecaps melt and the world becomes a submerged world of islands, I’ll be able to see the next pirate king grow to conquer the world, and all because I subscribed to the GrandLineReview, what a deal!
Since souls correspond to lifespan according to big mom if she ever stole an immortal's lifespan would there just be an unlimited amount of soul substance or would she be able to take their immortality from them?
I wouldn't want to become immortal cuz I'd lose the thrill of doing anything knowing I'll always be able to experience it over and over again and my life would become boring
Funny enough that’s life as it is. We bounded in a loop of timeless perfection and reincarnation. Déjà-vu occurrences have shown me that. You will not know because you’re not connected with your higher self. We block out all that in unconscious resistance making us able to ‘enjoy’ life as it is now
I dont exactly want immortality in the world but I want longevity with perfect health. I want to continuously experience the changes in tides and cultures and how things will continue to get shaped. It excites me!
The next-oldest human character with a confirmed age in the series, besides Kureha, is not Brook, it's Streusen at the ripe old age of 92! Unless you count sky-folk like Birkans as "humans" as well, in which case we've got Haredas at the age of 97!
heres a theory: maybe the 5 elders know it can actually give immortality without taking the users life but dont want the user or other people knowing so it scares them into not going around and giving everyone immortality
There two things I would like to add First is that doctor Kureha always saying that she 140 but still in her youth. Second one is that may be a filler but there is another way to obtain immortalit, there are dragon bones and marines was after dragons in anime.
@@maxgrobe1355 Yeah I know it's filler but for anime watchers only it's a part of the story. I like to see it like that. You have watch and read to get the puzzles together :)
@@VTec91852 can be combined but until something from the fillers becomes canon, a anime only watcher should always keep in mind that a filler is just that, filling time so the manga stays ahead.
One piece theory: Imu had the eternal youth surgery performed on him during the void century and was trying to run the world and joyboy was trying to stop him from completing that goal. He had a devil fruit that would allow his will to be passed down to other generations and build the strength he had. He was defeated by imu and what would become the world government but because of his devil fruit he would never be eliminated completely. Every other generation or so his will would come back and be input into the strongest member of the “will of d” and with it their natural ability would be boosted. Hence why roger was such a strong pirate and why puffy is so strong even tho he doesn’t have much experience. Joyboy also had the poneglyphs made so when that meme we of the will of d read them he would be able to start putting together the puzzle pieces and have all of the knowledge of joyboy to be able to beat imu and the world government. Let me know if you agree or if you think I’m a complete ass making a fool of myself
I wouldn’t take immortality for the simple reason that I would have to see everyone around me die that I enjoyed/loved being with, and on a more personal note I feel like after obtaining this immortality I would start to question my purpose for this gift and how to use it. These two things would drive me insane to the point where I may not believe anything in this sacred world.
depends on the type of immortality. if i were able to stay the same age while also being impervious to death via harm, including the ability to heal injury (such as repair a lost arm) then definitely
For me, it depends on what kind of immortality that you receive. If it is eternal youth then answer is obvious. However if means that you are placed in an existence in which you watch everyone you know and love die and you have no way to follow them then that would be a definite no.
I'm rewatching Thriller Bark....and they said Moria went toe-to-toe with Kaido.....please revisit this..please. how did I not hear this previously??? Am I living under a rock?
On a side note: Has anyone notice that a sign of power in OP is wielding fire, thunder and flying. BM, Kaido and Luffy can create fire and fly and BM and Kaido can both use thunder and we know Luffy is made of rubber so I wouldn’t be surprise if he eventually gets some thunder technique. And now Zoro, the King of Hell, who we see getting closer to Yonko level. In Wano, he started wielding fire and in the latest chapters he flew twice like it was nothing. Meaning he probably can official fly. He also has swords with who he can channel lighting thru so I wouldn’t be surprise if he eventually obtains it since I think it’s like a Yonko level ability and he is growing in power.
Oh yeah I didn’t know that so I googled and so far he has done two thunder attacks: Thor Axe and Thor Elephant Gun. The second one is suppose to be canon, but it was so random and was never done again so idk how real Oda intended it to be, but the explanation was that his 2nd gear worked by heating rubber; creating fire. And his 3rd gear works like a balloon and static electricity; creating thunder. Whatever the case, if Oda implements correctly this idea in the future than my theory might be correct.
My theory is that a villain is immortal (my guess: Im) and that Law will find a way to reverse the effects of immortality using the fruit in exchange with his own life. I just don't see the need for another immortal person🤷🏽♂️
I think I would take immortality. I think it would be interesting to watch the world change over the years and I would also be able to get a lot more done with the extra time.
This style of immortality I never understood turning down. There is a way out if you get that bored or lonely. The can not die kind sounds gruesome, like if you are thrown into a volcano or something and are still alive, even if you regenerate from it, damn.
I remember,in one of your "crazy theories" videos, someone proposed the idea that the eyes of im,zunesha, and mihawk WERE indeed due to the immortality Operation
To answer the question, it depends on how you would define immortality. Do you stay the same age you got it and look young forever or do you keep aging for an eternity? Can you still be killed? Or are you just unkillable like that mosquito in One punch man? I would probably like to stay young so I can go on many adventures and discover many things, but not so that I will never be able to die.
I feel like something big is gonna happen and Law will use the power on Luffy; we already know Luffy is gonna be a few years short thanks to the emergency injections back in Impel-down but with everything else happening those might be cut even shorter and given how much significance Law has had in keeping Luffy alive at this point i feel like it'd make the most sense.
totally possible, but him dying happy letting the government kill him as he was going anyways from age or sickness would fit as well for the parallel to Gol D Roger.
I think that Law will use the Eternal Life fruit power to save Luffy. Luffy made it pretty clear the moment he used 2nd gear for the first time that it shortens his life span, and yet he's been using it ever since without hesitation. By the end of the series I see this catching up to him, and Law will be there to make sure Luffy achieves his dreams (assuming his dreams are revealed to be bigger than personal freedom).
That makes sense, but I always felt the shortens my life thing is just a trope. It would be funny if he used it on a random character or straw hat. Like if Law was going to die anyway and he said screw it, the person in the room at me at the time is now immortal.
@@AyeTrayTheStrayy yes. But every time he used it. Until mastery. Still shaved life off. Jsut like no matter how hard he trains he cannot undo ivankovs life shortening. Whatever was shortened already is still there. Meaning luffy dying early is still highly plausible

Obviously we all know that a lot of firsts were introduced, but I noticed sometging in the background when the 5 Elder Stars were introduced, and also when Doflimingo walked into Marijoa.. Did anyone notice the walls within Marijoa?? We have symbols on the wall with a Flower in the middle, then we have a Flowers in the middle of a conference table when it shifts sceens from the Elders to the Admirals, Doflimingo, and others of importance.. but if you look in the background there is a Devil Fruit that looks like it is sone type of Mythical Fruit, and it appears to be either under water, or giving out life... I just wanted to know if anyone else noticed the Devil Fruit on the wall that was framed over and over again on the wall inside Marijoa?? This would also explain so much more on how Doflimingo knew about the treasure inside Marijoa, why we have a garden where Imu stays, plus how Kuma became a test puppet, and it may fortell how much Blackbeard is hiding what he knows... think about it, before he even announced his crew he had one of his men hanging in the window in Marijoa?? How and why?? Doflimingo and Kuma had to escorted?? How did he get there?? How did he know where and when?? Just thinking that we were shown the Treasure, that the writing was on the wall, and we just was to distracted with the introduction of Whitebeard, the introduction of "Rockstar" from the Redhair Pirates, the 5 Elder Stars, the introduction to new Warlords, the end of the fight with Bellamy, and the glimpse of Shanks that we missed the biggest hint of them all... the secret treasure of Marijoa is the Devil Fruit in the pictures... maybe the Life Life Fruit... the fruit that can make the possible possible... it would make sense that the Goverment would have access to any and all types of Devil Fruits.. and if Imu could make any Fruit Possible grow, then it would explain everything in One Piece... the "One Piece" is One Piece of Fruit.... just saying
To answer the question, I don’t think I actually want to be immortal because it’s very painful. Although, immortality would be a great way to see all mangas to the end.
The heart isn't necessary if it's functions can be replaced, his heart was likely replaced with a mechanical pump long ago. But his brain will probably still age and die. If nanotechnology exists in the One Piece world he could replace his brain cell by cell with nanobots so that it remains the same brain while becoming electronic.

After seeing this video Im curious. What would happen to a person who had the eternal youth surgery performed on them if they were to run into Jewelry Bonney? If they can’t age would she be able to age them? Would she be able to break the power of the surgery? Or is the surgery only for a set amount of time? Because why did the world government want to capture her so badly if the ones at the top were already made immortals by the surgery?
I always thought that only some were made immortal with the surgery and that’s why they needed Bonney. Like Im and maybe the younger Gorosei are immortal and they needed Bonney to keep the rest alive until they could get the fruit again.
I would choose to be immortal for 3 reasons: 1) I don’t really have loved ones to see die 2) I want to finish One piece because we don’t know what life has in store for us 3) I want to live through the entire history of Earth so until its end. Yeah my reasons were dark
Maybe the reason Hakuba/Cavendish have the eye is that Hakuba is immortal and inhabits a new person each incarnation, so he changes their eye when he inhabits them?
I don't know about "immortality" per se, but I've often thought it would be great to have a very long lifespan. More time to read books, train, and generally improve myself is certainly something I'd appreciate! Though, I think a lot of that is due to me having a lot of regret from my life so far and wanting to make up for lost time.
I actually wouldn't want to be immortal. Sure, witnessing the evolution of our race would definitely be cool, but I myself likely wouldn't be contributing much during most of that time. I think the urgency (as well as the unpredictability) of death is what keeps most humans so dedicated and passionate, because when you have a limited time to leave your mark on the world, you're gonna have to make it count. PS: also knowing me, I'll probably keep procrastinating till the end of time, lol!
Would I become immortal? I would say yes because honestly I would love to learn how to do a round off double backflip without the fear of breaking my neck and dying...so basically I want immortality so I can try dangerous flips without fear of horrific consequences that in reality I most likely would end up facing
I would choose to become immortal. Personally, I just want to see how everything plays out for the world. It might be a greedy reason, but I find it interesting to constantly see what the world is doing and how it evolves.
I would most definitely become immortal because think of all the cool things you would get to experience. You would probably get to experience the end of one piece if that ever happens and you would see many many creative and wonderful advances in technology that would make living more enjoyable and worth while.
And you will see everything you loved die one by one as times goes by and after experiencing everything the world has to offer there will be a point in your life were you wish you could die.
Yes I definitely would. Regarding the technical achievements that are accomplished by now and will be accomplished soon, I'm really curious what else is there to come in the future and I'm already sad right now knowing I will probably never find out.

Immortality can be a huge advantage. Being able to live for thousands even millions of years on the planet. But as time progresses so does the mind of one. A persons mind can only take so much and comprehend so little. A person with immortality would go insane knowing the fact that they cannot die and never will. Having to go through the upcoming world events and seeing everything crumble right before your eyes. Therefore my answer would be no, I wouldn’t want to become immortal. Hopefully you can pick me for this amazing gift! I always your TH-cam videos daily because it helps me remember why do I love one piece so much! Thank you very much Liam!
i would love to be immortal that way I could watch grandlinereview as much as I want lol but honestly the ability of seeing how the future folds and if humanity dies out at some time and just being the only person from the old time would be one important person to the world I would never give up on an opportunity as big as this
I think in theroy being immortal would be amazing, being able to do everything you could ever want, having enough time to do what you want. But you would also see all your loved ones die, maybe even find more people to love only for them to die too. It would be extremely lonely, something I would be able to cope with. So therefore I wouldn't want to be immortal.
Has it ever been stated what is required to perform the surgery? Like do you just set up a "Room" and go to work or do you need specific supplies and tools to operate?
I wouldn’t want to be immortal because the I would have to see my friends, family die. The worst thing is not a cut ,it’s to see your near ones leave you and. All the memories i made with them will only make me sad
I think a potential left field candidate for the Immortal character would be Doc Q. I have no evidence, outside of the fact that he seems to be in a constant state of dying and yet nothing happens, I just think it would be a neat twist
Immortality would honestly solve a lot of problems that life has, terminal illness, injury and just death itself which would change my own outlook on life removing all fear of death from all actions, although it might get boring there will always be new and exciting things to try, so I personally would become immortal if given the chance
something i never thought about is what if there are hundreds of people that have been effected by the ope ope no mi still running around bc the fruits potentially had hundreds of users
Kureha is suspicious to me. The fact that she goes around and casually asks people whether they want to know how she has managed to live for so long and no one takes her seriously is typical of Oda.
Lots of immortals portrayed in media see it as a curse in the long run because it makes life mundane and unenjoyable. Everything should have and end to it because an ending gives meaning to its existence.
Yes to immortality, but only if that include some sort of improved healing, else I would eventually lose my eyes/ears/hands etc. due to inevitable accidents. So yeah, my why would be to see and aid the world with literal centuries of wisdom once I achieve said wisdom (might take a while) and the why not would be only if I can't regrow lost important appendages cuz that would suck.
I would immediately, being able to live forever is like having infinite amount of time, and therefore resources, of tecnology, to do whatever you want. Maybe even find a way to travel to a one piece-like dimension
I've always thought that Law would die using the immortality ability but not like most people. I think he will undo the immortality that was given to someone in the past and it will cost his life.
Maybe Imu
Omg great idea
That is actually genius
@@ilovefishing2232 that's my thoughts too.
wow it is the most logic thing that Law can do because I dont see him making any of his crew or literally anybody immortal
When it comes to Law:
I would rather Oda, not to go the sacrifical route... by doing something else most fans would not expect.
Plus I also would like to see him being able to live the long and happy life Rosinante and most likely also his family wanted for him.
Law is created to help luffy so him being sacrificial goat to bring luffy back to life would be best ending
@@joyboy6535 Nope. Luffy would not want that.

@@Elisabeht-Swan Luffy dying in the final fight isn’t bad writing when his death been foreshadowed thro out the whole series. @@joyboy6535 law completes the surgery and starts to die than someone gives him meat or a glass of milk and he will be alright. 😂
I just now understood that Duval's helmet/mask was a foreshadowing to Sanji's childhood and I needed to say it somewhere. That's all 😂
Seems like a waste.
It's a DF power, that means it can be blocked by Haki. If he is strong enough to bypass that, he can just use his power to separate the immortal dude into a bunch of pieces and sink them to the ocean floor at different locations. Immortaility won't help you recover from that.
I was thinking what if the surgery just made someone's will immortal?
Given how much Luffy has reduced his own life span (including whether the life reducing effects still occur with Gear 2) I could imagine Luffy will be hit with life ending illness that maybe Traf might offer the immortality to him, but if we know Luffy he would probably reject it not wanting Traf to sacrifice his life for Luffy's as we know Luffy from the beginning already bet his life: "If I die trying at least I tried"
Chopper will heal Luffy's disease at the end and fulfill his dream as becoming the greatest doctor in the world
@@elias-ml6eo
Yeh but can you cure someone who has reduced their life at least twice and does so with every use of Gear 2?
nah about the gear two he doesn't look completely exhausted after using it anymore and we def gotta assume that it doesn't shave his life anymore especially with his life being halved after being posioned and saved in impel that would just wouldn't make sense in general if oda halved his life to keep shrinking it everytime he uses it
@@rayquan777765555344
I'm not thinking like it takes off like HOURS of his life the longer he uses it, perhaps minutes and sure he seems to have better control of it but the whole point of Gear 2 is that he is pushing his body to limits he can't do in base form (as he hasn't got the skill/training to master Soru) so it does put some amount of strain on his body.
I think Hakuba is just sleep walking

Why is no one talking about brook, he’s immortal as well as long as he doesn’t take too much damage!
that's not immortal he died back then, his DF gives him second chance to live
How would he die tho if he’s a skeleton
He can die of old age
Tell me why no one talks about big mom's eyes when she was chasing the straw hats in totto islands, they are particularly the same as mihawk
Probably the only way for him, and past Yomi Yomi No Mi eaters, to irrevocably die is to have their bodies destroyed, so there's nothing to come back to.
no, the fruit revives its user after death once, only. The other users died because they died a 2nd time.

But Kureha is still aging. What's the point of being immortal if you still end up being disabled
@@LuffyxNamiisathing who said that she is still aging? there is this theory that she always looked old, even when she was like 20 years old. she received the operation and now she is young/old/immortal.
and Laffi Traffi of course you don't want law to die, just look at your name LOL
The inner black line is thinner, but it isn't clear enough to just say that it dismisses Cavendish and therefore makes the rest more viable
we've seen mihawk when he's young at roger's death
@@chakradharbandaru9995 that’s why I can’t agree with his theory

If I recall right, that scene doesn't exist in the manga (anime exclusive), but it is a while since I read that scene. Admittingly Oda does help direct the anime, but this does leave room for discussion
I just had this thought:
What if Kureha realised she was going to die and so performed the surgery on *herself*?
That would mean she would lose her df as she technically died but would still be immortal. This would also explain her extreme medical knowledge as well as her seeming youthfulness.
As for when she did it- probably not long before Diez Barrels acquired the fruit.
not immortality it gives eternal youth so she would just die
You are right good point
I was thinking the same thing... brook is already died once and when he came back there's nothing left to age... so immortal.... yes

Just because Brook got another life span, doesn't mean it was an infinite one.

If only he can perform that immortality to himself 😟 I just don't want him to die.
I would probably not choose to become immortal for several reasons:
1) I would have to change my identity fairly frequently to avoid suspicion.

Reasonable points but allow me this rebuttal:
1) I don't think that's too much of a hassle.

Imu had the eternal youth surgery performed on him during the void century and was trying to run the world and joyboy was trying to stop him from completing that goal. Joyboy also had the poneglyphs made so when that meme we of the will of d read them he would be able to start putting together the puzzle pieces and have all of the knowledge of joyboy to be able to beat imu and the world government. depends on the type of immortality. if i were able to stay the same age while also being impervious to death via harm, including the ability to heal injury (such as repair a lost arm) then definitely
For me, it depends on what kind of immortality that you receive. If it is eternal youth then answer is obvious. However if means that you are placed in an existence in which you watch everyone you know and love die and you have no way to follow them then that would be a definite no.
What if everyone you loved was also immortal?
@Ainox no I mean your organs just don’t rot I mean if they didn’t your practically IMortal if you don’t cancer or something
Luffy has used a thunder technique Thor king gun I think it's called it was used vs kata
Giant Thor Axe
I was going to say the same thing, I think near the end of the series it will happen.
totally possible, but him dying happy letting the government kill him as he was going anyways from age or sickness would fit as well for the parallel to Gol D Roger.
Luffy no longer shortens his lifespan. He learned to control gear 2 when he was training so it doesn't impact his lifespan

@@AyeTrayTheStrayy not a problem! Long series. A lot gets lost. I’ve had similar mishaps forgetting certain things that happened and I’ve watched the show through like 6 times 🤣
I went back and rewatched the fight with Bellamy and Luffy before the Straw Hats departed to Skypia.. Just thinking that we were shown the Treasure, that the writing was on the wall, and we just was to distracted with the introduction of Whitebeard, the introduction of "Rockstar" from the Redhair Pirates, the 5 Elder Stars, the introduction to new Warlords, the end of the fight with Bellamy, and the glimpse of Shanks that we missed the biggest hint of them all... the secret treasure of Marijoa is the Devil Fruit in the pictures... maybe the Life Life Fruit... the fruit that can make the possible possible... it would make sense that the Goverment would have access to any and all types of Devil Fruits.. and if Imu could make any Fruit Possible grow, then it would explain everything in One Piece... the "One Piece" is One Piece of Fruit.... just saying
Maybe I missed it. But does Brook's ability also count as "immortality"?
being alive as a skull won't be as fun
To answer the question, I don’t think I actually want to be immortal because it’s very painful. Although, immortality would be a great way to see all mangas to the end.
Even though Franky is a Cyborg, I think his heart will age at certain point of life resulting in natural death.
@@Eddies_Bra-att-ha-grejer if you replace every piece of a person are they still the same person? If Franky replaced his brain then the Franky we know would essentially be dead.
There artificial hearts in real life I believe so why not in One Piece?
@@CloudCollapse I mean if he replaced it cell by cell with nanobots, it would still ultimately be the same brain since there would be continuity.
I wouldn’t I could not imagine the pain of losing the ones you grown close to while watching them grow old and headed towards the end of their lives while I stay young a infinite sadness
I‘d go for the immortality. Sure it could end up becoming a pretty lonely existence but there‘s also a chance to do an unimaginable amount of good.
You might be onto something
maybe the effects of her fruit are temporary or need to be in a certain distance to her.
What if a recipient of the eternal youth surgery then eats the ope ope no mi and performed the surgery?
@@nathanlevesque7812 he dies, if its just eternal youth you can be killed
I would choose to be immortal for 3 reasons:
1) I don’t really have loved ones to see die
2) I want to finish One piece because we don’t know what life has in store for us
3) I want to live through the entire history of Earth so until its end.
Yeah my reasons were dark
Nah I pretty much agree
i want to be immortal and marry all your bloodline
but change my name slightly so you would wonder if I was the same person at the end to torture u. until the world ends
@@XXXTentaclez you really live upto ur name

Maybe the reason Hakuba/Cavendish have the eye is that Hakuba is immortal and inhabits a new person each incarnation, so he changes their eye when he inhabits them?
I don't know about "immortality" per se, but I've often thought it would be great to have a very long lifespan. More time to read books, train, and generally improve myself is certainly something I'd appreciate! Though, I think a lot of that is due to me having a lot of regret from my life so far and wanting to make up for lost time.
I would choose to become immortality simply out of curiosity as to how it would work and how long it would take to get really, really bored
I think immortality is one of those things that seem like a good idea, but would quickly become a burden. So no, I wouldn't do it
It's not real immortality just eternal youth
Gotta say, this guy has some of the best transitions I've seen on youtube.
I would like to be immortal as it would allow me to finish the one piece manga. Then again even that may not be good enough.
Would become immortal just to see the end of One Piece with my very own eyes!!
You bring up a good point about evolution. You'd eventually be the most under evolved human in existence. Like a cave man in the future.
No forget the importance of time watch others die, once u see too many people die, u would feel nothing when someone dies
Would I become immortal?
I would say yes because honestly I would love to learn how to do a round off double backflip without the fear of breaking my neck and dying...so basically I want immortality so I can try dangerous flips without fear of horrific consequences that in reality I most likely would end up facing
Weirdo
You would still feel pain
But what if you don't get extreme regeneration??
I would choose to become immortal. Personally, I just want to see how everything plays out for the world. It might be a greedy reason, but I find it interesting to constantly see what the world is doing and how it evolves.
I would most definitely become immortal because think of all the cool things you would get to experience. You would probably get to experience the end of one piece if that ever happens and you would see many many creative and wonderful advances in technology that would make living more enjoyable and worth while.
And you will see everything you loved die one by one as times goes by and after experiencing everything the world has to offer there will be a point in your life were you wish you could die.

Brook could be an immortal if he's not always in battle
I would want immortality, just out of curiousity about what would happen far beyond my lifetime. Also, Nooooo I don't want Law to die :(
Yes I definitely would. Regarding the technical achievements that are accomplished by now and will be accomplished soon, I'm really curious what else is there to come in the future and I'm already sad right now knowing I will probably never find out.
Imagine you live for ever watching all your friends and family die, one after the other. You out live your children, and their children, and their children. Wha if humans go extinct and you are still alive, the only one alive, forever alone….
@@senseitubagoo1345 being immortal doesn't mean that I can't end my life whenever I want to (at least that's my interpretation). For me it means that I will no longer be affected by diseases or the decay of my body.
The only downside of immortality for me is the fact that every loved one dies, but as you said I will outlive my children and their children and so on, but that implies that I will most likely always have a family and therefore always loved ones that I can spend my time with.
Sensei tubagoo13 that’s the thing, with endless life comes endless knowledge. You’re bound by human emotions, if you surpass the general prospects of life, that death is inevitable it’ll make losing people around you all the much easier to accept.

Since a lot of luffy's abilities come at the cost of his lifespan, what if law gives luffy the eternal life to grant him unlimited use of his gears with no cooldown, or even access to gear 5?
why would he need that though
@@ddhouston3380 why would luffy need a power boost giving him unlimited access to gears without cooldowns as well as gear 5? I can think of a few reasons.
Or luffy used his abilities too often and adding up the missing lifespan from Iva's power he will be about to die of a heart attack unless Law saves him. That's like the basic theory everyone knows but it's not that unlikely to happen.
Ace’s declared dream died the moment he put his 100% into supporting white beard.
I would not choose to be immortal, as all good things have to come to an end, being immortal means that i have lived through all the beauty in life and there is nothing left to experince in the long run, being immortal would make someone to feel unhappy since they will have all those good memories that passed down and only they can remember or the choices they made will keep hunting them forever eating away at their own sanity
Oda : Everyone is immortal
Gandhi : Hold my Katana
The ability to be immortal, such a heavy and strenuous burden to bare. Watching everyone around you die as your life span seamlessly never ends. Sign me up.
In the slightly modified words of Ace, "Why would I want to live that long? I'd be an old guy."
@grandlinereview you should do a ranking on the transponder snails of each character
Aiggghhtt, I'm sorry for sleeping on this channel until now. I'm finally subscribed!
Honestly, Kureha revealing that she had the immortality operation performed on her would be the most Oda thing to reveal after her always trying to talk about the "secret of her youthfulness" or whatever and people just shouting at her for it.
I would never want or even ever try to be immortal, cause the idea of always seeing you like/love die is to horrifying to me.
Immortality once placed in a perpetual state sounds more like a horrible punishment than a gift
1. Goaty 2: girly dreadlocks 3: mustache gramps 4: baldy 5: angry mustache
i would love to be immortal that way I could watch grandlinereview as much as I want lol
but honestly the ability of seeing how the future folds and if humanity dies out at some time and just being the only person from the old time would be one important person to the world I would never give up on an opportunity as big as this
It would be an interesting irony, Law expecting to die young with his assault on Doflamingo, and then being able to live forever.
Trafalgar Law is my absolute favourite! Thanks for this vid!
I think Sugar's body still accumulates age, it just stops maturing past childhood. If she's also immortal that's insane
I wouldn't become immortal. Imagine living forever without One Piece.
honestly being immortal is kind of sad cause you have to watch people die, kind of like how brook is going to be lonely for the rest of his life
Immortality would honestly solve a lot of problems that life has, terminal illness, injury and just death itself which would change my own outlook on life removing all fear of death from all actions, although it might get boring there will always be new and exciting things to try, so I personally would become immortal if given the chance
something i never thought about is what if there are hundreds of people that have been effected by the ope ope no mi still running around bc the fruits potentially had hundreds of users
Kureha is suspicious to me. The fact that she goes around and casually asks people whether they want to know how she has managed to live for so long and no one takes her seriously is typical of Oda.
Best TH-camr to watch while on treadmill
